  1. Thanks very much. I do indeed feel blessed to have had such a good long friendship.
  2. Just checked & this playlist is up to 19 videos. A quick look shows that not all are full new episodes. Some seem to be interesting shorts about one or another characters. Hope anyone interested is enjoying this rare resource.
  3. Well, I personally have episodes from 1966 & I am aware of others who do also. The first wedding on the show is an episode I have. I'm not sure why it is so but those of us who collect these tend to have about 2 dozen 1965 & then a gap of course but then another 2 dozen in 1966, although they are in March, not September. And, these personal collection episodes are entirely tangential to this discussion, so that will be all I'll add.
  4. Well, to clarify, since the Dobsons didn't exactly "show up." Marland was at ATWT & the Dobsons were at GL & the lore says that P&G was unhappy with ATWT & asked the Dobsons to switch. They didn't really want to since they were very happy where they were but they felt that they really had to, so, the swap was made. Later, as I said, Marland has his second shot on ATWT & I believe that to be the time we think of as so very good for Marland & that show.
  5. Also Joe, Kathy Phillips on Search for Tomorrow went to New York state & got an abortion. There were 3 states that had legal abortion in 1970 but New York state was the only state without a residency requirement. So there are 3 abortions of note in daytime history. Pat Randolph, AW, illegal. Erica Kane, AMC, and Kathy Phillips, SFT. Both New York state & legal. This is also discussed in the ERRORS topic.
  6. Yes, that is exactly what I was afraid of when I originally heard about it in that Dishin' Days podcast with the info coming from Stephanie Sloane. At least it's only a year although that is admittedly very small consolation.
  7. I'll just say that is very terribly unfortunate if it came off all wrong but with that said, I'll let it be because no matter what, this is done & can'r be undone.
  8. Last week I grabbed this shot & named it, "Polar bears make me miss Margi." So who is Margi? Margaret Ann Pearson Moore Holmberg. Now, she never used Ann. She was a Pearson from Mississippi but up north near Marks. I am a Pearson from Mississippi but far down south in Caesar, outside Picayune. We tried for years to establish some genealogical connection. None exists. I met Margi the summer of 1974. That makes her one of my oldest friends. As it happens, she was also one of my best friends. In the last 15 or so years it was our habit to talk on the phone every single day. Margi was a bit older than me, having been born on Oct. 24, 1945. We were chosen family to each other. She called me Sis & she was the sister I never had. She was a fiber artist, had her own spinning wheel, created amazing & masterful objects by crocheting them. Her favorite thing to do was free form. She had a number of chronic health conditions. In January 2022 she got the Omicron variation Covid. And, on the 11th of the month, she was taken from us. Rest in power & in peace, my dear, sweet, much beloved Margi. I miss you each & every day.
  9. There's a newish documentary out on Faye Dunaway, FAYE, and if you like bio type docs, it is an excellent one! Among other things she says she always tries to give something different on each & every take! After watching it I had to re-watch 2 movies! NETWORK & HURRY SUNDOWN. I think of the second one as a kind of South exploitation & it has in it the quote, "The blacker the berry, the sweeter the juice" which is also a famous line out of the Harlem Renaissance. Both are older movies. NETWORK is from 1976 but it was so ahead of its time then, that now it doesn't seem dated. It continues to be one of my favorite movies. The most famous line from it is "I'm as mad as hell & I'm not going to take it anymore." - Howard, NETWORK 1976 But my personal favorite line from it is "This is the story of Howard Beale, the first person known to be killed because he had lousy ratings." - news announcer, NETWORK 1976
  10. Good! Humor was its end goal. I think before we were just quiet & a lot of people were LOUD about Joss. I know personally I always disagreed & thought the perspective of the relationship between Cam & Joss showed clearly it was damaged if not destroyed. Anyway, we should have spoken up sooner. On that, like TJ, we don't get a pass. Plus my opinion didn't feel attacked.
  11. I'm not sure but I think this is written in an entirely new language!!! Yes, it definitely derives from English but then it has influences I simply do not recognize. Fascinating, though! I know I'm making a thing out of all of these nicknames & fan jargon but it's all in fun. And, it has a rhythm to it. I'm not saying you could dance to it, but tap your feet, sure. I still hate Cujo though. I remain unconvinced it's not a personal attack on the actor. Plus, I don't need any reminders of that particular horrifying Stevie King story. The other day I met a fan who didn't even get the reference! Yes, I do use the words Jarly & also Jarlified but the most derogatory was when I called him Drewfus, who is definitely not any more.
  12. Well, you have a point. It is called "self-referential" as often as it's called "referential". Hmm. Yeah. But, I do think they mean well.
  13. And, remember, Marland did ATWT, then GL and only then did he do his second pass at ATWT, which was when it became sorta golden.
  14. Not a problem, we is all cool here,
  15. I agree. And, also I'm sure it's Bryan Craig!
  16. Nyah, just carrying on. But, you're right. Jamey was into both AW & GL.
  17. The link is to a video not a screengrab.
  18. It doesn't make a lick of sense. But, that time before, Sonny honest to God thought he'd seen Morgan right there & that Morgan saved him. Totally crazy. Now I guess we're stuck with Sonny having "visions" of his very dead son.
  19. That is so true! Also so Jamey. A complete misread of the character of Cass! It makes me laugh that we all have his number.
  20. Unless they had student interns, or similar, available to them probably not digitized. Probably still photocopies. Although maybe digital files if they were jpegs of the pages. Another thought would be as pdf files.
  21. Well, I would suggest there's more than one way to look at it. Michael's her brother, so in that sense it gives her "standing" to drag Willow & to offer the perfect comeback when Nina thinks she's insulting her by comparing her to her mother, which to her is the ultimate compliment. Also to me their situations were very different. Esme's sex tape destroyed Cam & Joss's relationship. It's true that it would have been better if Joss & Cam had had a conversation then, that they only had later, but Joss didn't kill a valid ongoing relationship since Esme had already done that. Even though they hadn't said words acknowledging that it was over, it was already over. Meanwhile I think Joss is hyper-focused right now & thinking 100% clearly. I don't think so & I don't think he will be. I think Michael will be the first victim of the Digitalis Serial Killer to survive, possibly because Dr. Isaiah Gannon realizes this may be another Digitalis attack & quick intervention saves Michael's life. They're just picking back up where Sonny was on that same balcony before & thought he "saw" Morgan in a kind of a vision. Remember?
  22. Eddie found this, he said by accident. At DAYS both Jamey & Ron love to do this kind of in-joke referential stuff!
  23. He wasn't named. A friend sent me the link, someone who worked with Tom on AW. He knew that Tom lived in that area & that it was Tom.
  24. I also am pretty massively in favor of cutting slack. I'm also both pleased & surprised that Corday ran the ending stuff by Drake, surprised because I think it was the smart move to make & pleased because I also think it was the right thing to do & showed respect for Drake. Now, I really am ready to do this thing. What I read said early 2025. We need to say goodbye. Watching these Johnless scenes with Marlena is excruciating.
  25. Last week we had the anniversary of the first soap to go from a half hour to an hour. The NBC exec who pushed that through was Lin Bolen. Although she denied it, is is widely accepted that Diana in NETWORK is based on her. One of my favorite movies, I have just rewatched it. Here are the quotes: "My God, I'm supposed to be the romantic & you're supposed to be the hard-bitten realist." - Max, NETWORK 1976 "This is the story of Howard Beale, the first person known to be killed because he had lousy ratings." - news announcer, NETWORK 1976 "NBC has daytime locked up with all their lousy game shows. I want to knock them down. I'm thinking about doing a homosexual soap opera, 'The Dykes', the tragic story of a woman in love with her husband's mistress." - Diana, NETWORK 1976 "I've reached for the phone to call you 100 times." - Diana to Max, NETWORK 1976 "I'm as mad as hell & I'm not going to take it anymore." - Howard, NETWORK 1976 "All I want out of life is a 30 share and a 20 rating." - Diana, NETWORK 1976 "I have to warn you I don't do anything on my first date." - Max to Diana, NETWORK 1976 "After living with you for 6 months, I'm turning into one of your scripts!" - Max to Diana, NETWORK 1976
