  1. That's right! I have those episodes. His daughter was loathsome. Because of her I had no sympathy for that family's loss.
  2. You didn't hate the way she tricked Abby? I sure did. She was despicable from very early. Then, Laura's death. Sure. I forgot the reason I wanted to post DAYS today. Sophia's story has been so depressing. Free of it for a day!!!
  3. Baby Dickie definitely died before Susan killed his Dad.
  4. Is "honks" autocorrect for hunks?
  5. Annette, at the top of the page you're on, where you see page numbers, and it begins with the word "PREV", you can always click the arrow to its left (which is to go to the first page) and you'll find yourself looking at the detailed instructions. Maxim, have you seen on YouTube where Diana performs with her daughter, Rhonda? She played a cop on Another World, Toni Burrell. Rhonda, that is, not Diana Ross.
  6. Daytime Emmys, there is a file that does not show its date. Instead it's filename is IMG*.mov but it is actually the year 2000 so that filename could be fixed. Now, the vault is missing the year 2001. My personal collection is also missing that one year. Does anyone have or know where that year's ceremony might be? Here's some more information about our missing year: Held May 18, 2001, at Radio City Music Hall & hosted by Kathy Lee Gifford. ATWT won for Best Show with Martha Byrne winning Best Actress & Lesli Kay Best Supporting Actress. David Canary won Best Actor with Michael E. Knight taking home Best Supporting Actor. So, those top spots were split between ATWT and AMC.
  7. I was always Team Jake & Paulina. Also was Team Vicky & Ryan. Never Joe & Paulina.
  8. Well, I step away from the computer for short while & everyone here basically lost their minds. But, to do the thing wheat & chaff, Let me see, take a long look. No, I do not think that AW was intending to send Mac off in an amnesiac stupor. Just because some people like it when David Stewart does not mean squat in Bay City. Everyone is correct who says pick another anniversary, still Cory, but make it make at least a little sense. I have always given grace on the issue of Doug falling down dead as can be, with several months ahead presumably wittern & in the can. All it was waiting on was basically him to act. Now he's gone, wheat to do. There was no way they were gonna fire TEplin. Get a hold of yourselfves now you're just talking crazy. Choose beween Cali Timmins and Tommmy eplin. The choice is so obvious.
  9. Some of us think it may be happening. And, I completely & totally disagree that Frank or Disney thinks he has to stay on. To my way of thinking they are poised, ready to throw the retirement party as soon as he mumbles yes instead of maybe. When he asked them to take State of Mind & put it on the network I think if they'd said yes, he'd have retired within 18 months of that yes. Of course I also see why they said no, even though as a fan of the show but NOT THE CHARACTER I'm for anything that moves him off. So, darn.
  10. I would suggest that DAYS pre-Carly Buried Alive did not fit with either Maury or Jerry Springer. That's where in my mind I draw a line. The wackiest thing before then was, arguably the dog wedding, right? And, it was wacky but harmless. From Buried Alive & then on to Demonic Possession we stay wacky but leave harmless back in the dust.
  11. Okay, that's not something that we know. Corporations often leave a wide interpretation of dates when they plan something like what I recall being described, which was definitely a storyline, not an event. I'm also not suggesting that the Cory anniversary would've been the only thing that was written about. Yes, I know that there is a certain arbitrariness to declaring this the 25th anniversary, yet I believe it is what they did. And, I don't think it's strange in soap terms. I just do not see an issue with their having a big do on the anniversary of Cory Publishing beginning to get underway & to be a success as of its beginning in Bay City. We don't really care about what happened with it before, do we? Well, you're not attempting to argue, you are actually arguing. But, why not? We're here to talk. Comparing different thoughts & perspectives is just natural. Isn't it? And, as far as the interview with Swajeski, if in fact the big deal was the Red Swan I for one am automatically deflated!!! And, if we didn't know that Mac was not a self-made man yet, we will find it out when we have our San Cristoblah turn which if I recall it correctly was about whether or not Mac swindled Ian's father & Carl's father. I also read recently about the late 50s. I also agree that tying it strictly to 25 was not smart, & was off!
  12. I don't know of any good reason not to believe it was supposed to focus on the Cory Publishing anniversary but of course that doesn't provide any detail at all. AWHP says it was founded May 4, 1964 which makes May 4, 1989 a 25th anniversary.
  13. to the fault! Silly autocorrect!!
  14. Nothing but confirmation that AH's last airdate was July 1, 1991. We just celebrated it last week. If you recall Melroser Place pointed out that the pilot, in the video, called her by her real name instead of Vicky or Miss Hudson! I was thinking of Anne's stated perspective at this point. I don't understand it so it's a challenge to describe. At the conclusion of her contract with AW she made plans to go back to a long-held ambition, to attend Parson's School of Design. Despite the success she'd had she did not consider herself an actress. And, apparently she did not see it as a worthy goal, to become one. Someone at the show gave her a copy of O! Pioneers & suggested she'd enjoy reading it. She began reading it. Her agent called her & told her that Jessica Lange was playing the lead in a movie of it & that they wanted her for a younger woman. Her agent apparently spoke very favorably about it. Anne asked if her doing so would make her an actress. She read for the part, etc. & was cast. The first day Lange was freaking out over having 8 pages of dialogue. Anne had been doing between 30 - 60 pages per day, with a dual role. I'm sure Anne had no idea who Lange was.
  15. This is what I have spoken of in the past, here. That storyline was meant to be all about Cory & its anniversary. Not only a smoker, but a chain smoker. He had that week for R&R. I think they said he went to a kind of a spa on a ranch & as soon as he got off the plane, signed up for an exercise class & dropped dead of a massive heart attack.
  16. We can't have too many flowers in our daily lives! Here, a few on me. Roses made from ginkgo leaves simple purple phlox field of wildflowers somewhere in Canada
  17. Thank you so much. I have wondered for literally years about how this all came about. I am more than glad that I brought it up & you were here & gave us the real skinny.
  18. The reason I don't think it was unfair is because I believe the lore that they wanted Judi from jump but she wasn't available yet so they hired Cali temp. So to my way of thinking about it. it's extra work that she got to perform & be paid for that she would not have, at all, if Judi had been free from DAYS sooner than she was. Then, just personal preference, as subjective as that is, I prefer Judi. On the question of Grant, first & foremost I just hate that we lost Dack Rambo to the dam*ed plague. I really liked his Grant. But, I also liked Grant #2. More? Yeah, Dack.
  19. OH! I thought they were both playing. NOW I get it! One was now & one was next. I'm going to hang onto what the "Blake Marler" uploader told me about having success before getting a channel back but it just taking a long time. If not for her uploads I'd have never found the Alex Dinner party where she says, "Would somebody please pass Beth the salt?!" & Philip calls his family cannibals! Is your wheel icon perhaps called either the "gear" icon or the "settings" icon?
  20. Hello, new poster & welcome! Glad you gave up lurking! I seem to always have as many questions about GL as I do answers or opinions & that is because I was a late bloomer to the show. I began watching AW & DAYS & ATWT as a teen & didn't discover GL until I was an adult. Roger is my favorite of all soap villains. Holly is my favorite GL female. I've always loved India & never felt I got my fill of her. Agree. But, honestly, Marland at ATWT, he just seems to have hit his creative stride, there, then. As far as Lisa Brown being his stated muse, who doesn't love Nola? But, I also adore Iva. Zimmer's fan base, no doubt they were vocal but they were so much more! I'm sorry but it is JUST WRONG to have people who like Stepford Wives, call & write the studio if one day goes by without you sitting pretty on the front burner!!! Very probably correct.
  21. Well, of course you get to use your resources however you see fit but I have yet to see why you have two open at the same time, so I continue to be curious.
  22. Well, pretty much everyone was against the clone except for some at the network. And, I count Amish Reva among the very worst of what we IMO got stuck with. But, I agree that Zimmer would not have been keen on Marland & I think he would've returned that disfavor.
  23. Claire Labine!!!! And, to the rest, Yasss! Testify! P&G in the 90s & moving onward from then. Looking back, how is it that we stood it? They were no doubt out of their minds. Too many changes. Exec musical chairs! The Headwriter of the month club? If Marland hadn't died, then at GL once more, clearly Reva versus Nola, right? Lisa Brown his stated muse. Zimmer her own muse? Take the scene with Vanessa & Nola in the same ball gown, where would he have gone from there? Would Nola have had a fountain scene? Would she have driven her car over a cliff like in Thelma & Louise? Would Nola & Reva been daytime's Thelma & Louise? Just what CBS needed.
