What comes up is unusual. I'm aware of several that began with the Rosemary Prinz. What we hope is kinescopes & one-off video tapes now in attics will see the light of day. The reason daytime is not streaming is that the cost is prohibitive.

That coincides with the timeframe when they began to cut their number of brands, selling off pretty much half. So the soaps became less important to them as vehicles for advertising. Basically they began in 2000 & they did it over about 4 years. Yes I'm with you here every word. And when we back up as far as you just did, totally correctly, we snag the AW cancellation in 1999 where they had a poorer relationship with NBC earlier on but then well, history repeated itself. She specifically teased April which is 6 months from Oct. 31st so that is a kind of confirmation of her saying that amount of time. (No spoiler.)

And, I have to say that I have never in my life seen the kind of media blitz of promotion that we've just seen. And, besides applauding it for the fact of its existence, I thought it was wonderfully effective. Major kudos!!! 🎤⤵️

We can dream!!!! Although technically it was CBS who cancelled them. P&G failed to find a new venue to move them to. P&G accepted their ends as if inevitable. And, yes, nitpick. Paul Rauch literally was putting together a group of people to talk to about a new venue for GL at the time of his death. As far as I can tell he bore responsibility for Kristian Alfonso's leaving & for totally mishandling the LGBTQ+ couple Challie, which was probably why one of those actresses left the show. (Arnold) Actually, DAYS has the most diversity but it is almost all done so poorly & I think the buck stops with him. Breakdown writers can definitely impact story. I stand with fans who are leery. 🤦‍♀️🙄🙃

The last I heard fans who watch soaps & then talk about that online, figure to be about 15%. That's up from 12 which was up from 10. So, statistically we are relevant but JUST, not overwhelmingly so.

And, of course, P&G being involved, to a great many fans, is problematic. I realize it's been many years but for some fans the sting is still felt. Some places online fans comment negatively about this.
