I have always said that of ALL the classic soaps the one with the biggest chance of a successful reboot today is in fact EON! Maybe the only one.

I just had a birthday. I'm 74. But, I have watched more & I have always watched shows intended for people much younger than me in addition to those targeted at me. I've tried to watch Y&R but it's just not for me. I loved Brothers & Sisters. But, more favored would have been The Fosters, Last Tango in Halifax, Grey's Anatomy for about 7 years, and I was one of the oddballs who loved the Dallas reboot.

And, may God & Soap Jesus & Soap Buddha all bless us each & every day we bow down at the altar that is daytime drama!!! May we continue our specialness from our teens till we're using walkers!

Of course, the conclusion you draw is entirely subjective, which is not unlike many things on our soaps. BTW, I didn't watch either KL or DYN. But I do find that "heightened dramatic reality" if you will, has the best chance in provoking catharsis in me since we don't want just pathos. For just one example I greatly admire Susan Seaforth-Hayes which all do not. And, so-called "chem" is IMO entirely subjective, also. Such good & important points to make! Great! This is really good. There are a few fans in my soap group on FB who are saying the acting is too soapy & not natural. I haven't been sure how to respond. I love the soapiness! I don't need "natural". Yeah but it's only Day 4. There's still time. I've been trying to think what to write, what to say, ... I feel like I'm babbling because I like so much of this new show. Some people are invoking the names of past greats like Roger Thorpe, JR Ewing, Erica Kane, Rachel Cory, etc. and I have to admit I'm not sure I'm seeing them. I look at the show & what I see is new creatures & that is very terribly exciting to me. It would be all too easy to look at Anita & compare her to Stephanie Forrester. And, with others, the same kind of thing. But I think I prefer, at least for now, to continue on in this new creature vein. To that extent, I offer this. Anita 9/10 Vernon 8/10 Nicole 8/10 Dani 9/10 That's our Fab Four. Chelsea 7/10 Dani's other daughter 7/10 Martin 6/10 Smitty 7/10 Hayley 7/10 Bill 8/10 Now, I have to stop because I have got to go consult a character guide. But that's a good start. And, the last thing I will say is I LOVE THIS SHOW! Okay, so I lied. More to say. I love the mother/daughter relationships, not just with Anita either. I love the relationship between Vernon & Dani. Yesterday I adored the confrontation between the Lout (Bill) & Dani. Now, I think I'm done for now. NO. @Alan were there LINES yesterday? If not, perfectly okay. Who knows where a really good character guide is?

I noticed that Becky posted love to MVJ again yesterday on Twi/X. Just one line. But, it's notable because Becky so very rarely posts anything at all on social media. Routinely, it would be more than fair to say that she almost never posts unless she is specifically posting to let fans know she has received their gracious & kind gifts & how much she loved them. So, this is just so meaningful!

I, for one, am very glad that they did this article. Some fans are intent on believing that it was someone else who was gonna kill Cyrus. Names include: Liz, Lulu & Emma. So, it's a kind of a fill-in-the-blank rejection of Joss as the killer.

YEA!!! Tad, the man, not Tad the cad, is on the scene. I love Tad. I also love Dixie. And, your line below here has reminded me of an anecdote. Before Patrick Mulcahey had gotten underway with soaps AT ALL, there was a period of time when he was bartending & writing plays that this group was producing. He had met Marcy Walker. They were both at a read-through of a play & afterward they walked together & all of a sudden, this car pulled up beside them & the people rolled down their windows & all SCREAMED, "Die, Liza, you bitch!" And that was sorta his introduction to soap fans.

I'm not at all concerned about Violet or Finn, or any other iteration of a Michael Easton character. I simply do not believe it is anything but what I'm going to call fan hysteria. No doubt that if he'd been able to, Frank would have kept him. I do not see him getting him back though. And, fortunately, Violet is off canvas because Finn is. Praise to Soap Jesus!
