  1. THIS!!! Totally agree. As a matter of fact, yesterday when she went to pieces in the elevator what I saw was genuine, real crying, actually half-sobbing & half-screaming. But, to me it was authentic. I'm in black! But, I loved that all the Fairmont residents were dressed to the nine but IN BLACK & also loved the withering look Anita gave the two men who stood for the bride. Priceless! Sit your a*ses right back down in that chair!
  2. Just finished, What a day, what a FRIDAY, what a week, what a launch!!!! I'm gonna have to say that if we're talking about a female, Andre is interested. Darn, Dani, that was just sad.
  3. First days for me: GEN, CITY, PC, BEACH ... yep, best launch. Yes, by far. OH, Santa Barbara.
  4. And, of course, Bill is an evolved self-aware person who is also always truthful?!!! [guffaw] 🤣
  5. I loved Dixie in the middle but, yes, she really owned Rosanna! But, it's when I read her memoir that I began to look at her with different eyes. More appreciative.
  6. And on 3 different venues! But, great point & rather amazing that it's her first non-recast (probably NOT a word) role on a soap!!!!
  7. I'd have much preferred other words being quoted. Look, Maxim, I adore you. Let's get past this.
  8. Hmm, is an elevator pitch being able to get your premise across in the time it takes to go from the Lobby to the 23rd Floor? And, the baggage classic soaps all carry is a major concern of mine.
  9. Just skip it. You totally & completely misunderstood. I could care less about being "right". As far as I am concerned this has nothing to do with "right" or "wrong" either for that matter. We were both speaking contextually & I suggested that we simply see the character of Hayley differently. English being your second language here is irrelevant. Why? Because you do fine. Not a problem, at all. So, to me, we had reached a point of agreeing to disagree. For you, that is not where you are. Okay, whatever. And, BTW, I don't see any pettiness. What I was about to say was how much fun we are all having doing live time, rapid fire, posting about BTG!
  10. Being an outsider does not equate to being the underdog. You're looking at it contextually. But that coin has another side. Hayley NOW is in a position of power. She got Bill to marry her & at the country club & live in the community of her choice. He'd have been fine getting married anywhere & living apparently many different places. It is Hayley who wants to force her way into the Fairmont society. Sorry, I do not think I misunderstood you. Perhaps we see Hayley differently. But agree 100% MVJ brilliant. I want to challenge all of us to say what were the 5 most important things that happened this first week. To be continued ... Finally, here, we agree.
  11. And, indeed, no one has claimed that it was. What I said ... Not necessarily. Whose to say they couldn't have gone on, the way they were, till the end of their days. Obviously there were multiple affairs. Going by her own experience, she was unprepared for Bill to blow them up. Hadn't happened before. Ultimately some gold-digging ambitious whore let Bill know she expected a marriage & she got her way. Bill didn't just leave her. More to it.
  12. Hilarious! The legendary Costume Designer Jeresa Featherstone gets criticism because they all look too good! I love it!!! There's nothing to say that a descendant of Anita couldn't legally change their name.
  13. This is what I've said!!! Ripped from the headlines text! A female character akin to Olivia.
  14. Dani is upset this time for a very understandable reason. Bill, a serial cheater, nevertheless apparently before, stayed firm in their marriage & their supposedly happy home. Now, all of that is changed! Marriage dissolved, both physically & legally. Happy home? HA!! But, I contend that the line earlier this week about Dani suddenly caring what other people think is meaningful. It would seem that she was impervious to any rumors or scuttlebutt before. Now, is different. Obviously she knew she didn't have the perfect marriage. What she did have, though, was it would seem satisfactory to her. I would imagine from that, that Bill was seemingly attentive to her & a good father to their girls.
  15. No way. Hayley the underdog? I don't think so. To me she is the worst kind of opportunist. May I remind you these people took her in, treated her as if she was family & we see how she repaid that!!! Plus, now, she wants to make nice & all sing Kumbahyah, or however that is spelled. Cookies? She brought cookies to try to make nice with Nicole! That dog won't hunt. Some have said that there are no bad people. I happen to disagree. Bill, Hayley, both bad.
  16. Maybe it's just me, or where I am, but there is no way to me that Sophia's mom is likable!!! But, yes, the set-up for confrontation is right there, ready made. Janel are NOT "wholesome Christians". Never have been. I can't see that, at least not yet. Doug3 & Julie, interesting. Also of interest Julie's letter from Steve. But, I don't like how much Julie thinks so highly of Doug3. Why does she? Julie isn't stupid. Also if anyone is worldly, Julie is. What kind of cancer cells did Chanel have?
  17. Apparently I'm going to need a primer on the ills of B&B to follow along here. Or maybe a translator, perhaps an example that relates to Iris & Rachel? I think I will stick with my new creatures theory.
  18. In my group we just said this, well, technically we said Bill & Dani, sooner rather than later, will have sex. No idea if it will be hot, angry sex. Time will tell - and also the writing will tell. LOL!! Who was it who said to Dani, that she picked a fine time to start worrying about what other folk thought? I noted that line at that time! And, indeed, it came back to bite her in the butt! If you'll pardon my use of the common tongue. But, it is a classic trope. The set-up is more regular than not.
  19. I agree that this new soap has NOT been slow, AT ALL. I imagine there are so many women because this is a matriarchy & in addition to that, the production is very female-driven, which IMO is a very good thing. I also agree that this is the - or one of the - strongest introductions of a new show, ever. But, this should not be like the beginning of LOST or 24. We did not need right off "shock & awe". It is more than enough that we've landed in the deep end of the pool, dramatically. Just think about all the complications we are into, already!!! To me, this has been, definitely, worthy of the last week of a Sweeps period. Now, about telling other fans that it is unlikely that classic soaps will be rebooted. Here I am not prepared to be criticized. For years I have told fans this is unlikely & I have given reasons. In like fashion I have explained why very successful classic soaps are so expensive to prepare them for streaming. IOW, so many episodes, etc. For example the only reason PC would be more accessible than GH is the total number of episodes involved. Back to telling fans "unlikely". These fans are stuck. The past is too enticing. Whether AW or GL or AMC & not only because of nostalgia they are just in love with what they had & it prevents them from moving on. So telling them it's not gonna happen, was the right thing! Now, I am talking quite a lot about a possible soap renaissance. And, I say, "A rising tide lifts all boats." That is because I see BTG as - maybe if we're lucky - a facilitator not a competitor.
  20. GH often does win a Sweeps period, although I am reminded of one May Sweeps when GH's 2 stories were Protecting Marshall's Clarinet in a Dark Alley and Sonny & Brando Change Spark Plugs in a Classic Car.
  21. Yes, Michelle briefly played Jack's daughter, Lily. It is further confusing that Leven Rambin played Lily longer & Michelle, Misha Barton & Leven all resemble each other.
