The fact that he's manged to survive this many regimes and even outlast Khalil is insane. Now that she's gone he's not going to be able to keep using the nutso Lane base as blackmail so he should tread a little more carefully.

I agree @Chris B Lily should absolutely be recast. I'd call Davetta Sherwood, get Michael Graziadei back on a recurring basis and try Lily and Daniel again. The twins should also still be on the canvas. Didn't care for Mattie but Charlie was growing into a decent young lead so them vanishing like they have right after Neil's funeral is ridiculous.

I'm watching Monday's episode, they are showing way too many flashbacks for her not to be returning soon.

I'm pretty sure you've been here long enough to know that the main thing we do around these parts is bitch. If you're tired of reading it pivot the discussion to something you do like about the show and I'm sure other people will chime in, but posts like your last two do nothing but keep the cycle going (I say this as a poster who's been in a similar boat through more than a few unpopular regimes).

The whole canvas has been reverted back to 2013 so I'd say yes. I'm interested in seeing if the ratings jump back up at all.

I knew it was only a matter of time before JG brought her back, she was one of the leading ladies his last run. I LOVE JC and JFP was stupid to get rid of her in favor of Condiment. She's probably the only pairing JM's had in recent years outside of Shick and Phick that was actually tolerable but they were still pretty damn lackluster.

Watched Monday and Tuesday's Phyllis scenes...biggest thing I miss about Gina is her unpredictability. You never could tell how she was going to play a scene so it always made her fun to watch (I know some people found her to be OTT with this but I loved it)

With MS you can predict every tic laden choice. You know when she's going to give you the fake gasp for air, the smirk, the awkward slimy walk up, etc. Its just all so run of the mill. So far she's not bringing anything to the table that makes this cast change worth it IMO. I agree that her scene with Summer was awkward but HK and Gina didn't really develop any chemistry till HK's last run so I'll give her a pass on that but yeah I wish Gina was still here.

I'd take JFP and Guza back in a heartbeat.

I think it'd be stupid to do the new role thing. There's a lot of drama to be mined out of Hilary being alive. They should have had Devon use her eggs to make another child  and had Elena be the surrogate so we could have had an extra layer of drama by the time she got back.

Say Phyllis and Nate stashed her away at the same clinic Phyllis was in her coma at. Boom.

They really need her though. Its honestly the only way I can see myself being willing to watch full time again.

I understand their reasoning but I don't see this doing anything but causing a headache when Stafford gets big for her britches again. Gina was great in the role and made it her own in a way few recasts are able to accomplish with roles like this, I'm gonna miss her a lot.

People will tune in for the first episode and leave once they realize its not an actual reboot. Since they're losing writers and the first script still hasn't even been finished yet I would just retool it into a proper revival before its too late. Open it with Dylan dying and the gang getting back together for the funeral. This thing literally writes itself so I'm not sure why they are even wasting time with this lame concept.

I hate that they always use that cheap sounding version of the theme song now.

Again this is a waste. They could do the actual show and pull some viewers in. I'm not trying to watch the real life comedy bits unless it was an actual messy real life behind the scenes look.

Funny since people kept making up false stories about Hunter and Gina not getting along and someone in the writers room/Sony was clearly using Summer as a mouthpiece on screen to pitch bringing Stafford back during that whole Phyllis/Billy/Summer mess. They had her trot out that "I want the old Phyllis back" line way too many times for it to be coincidental.

New Adam looks the right age IMO

Crazy to see yet another recast but I'm willing to give this a shot because Nick and Victoria will never be able to carry the Newman legacy onscreen by themselves.

Love that promo but this is such a waste of a potentially rectifying reboot. Why can't CBS just call Darren Star and Charles Rosin and give us the revival we actually want to see?

Griffith will be gone before the year is over, I have 0 doubts about that. I just want him to somehow anchor Hilary back on the show, that's the only kind of benefit you get from one of his tenure's. He's doing the same playbook he used when he came back last time with JFP.  Adam and Chelsea, Summer, MS Phyllis, Eileen Davidson making guest spots, etc. I wouldn't be surprised if Jessica Collin's ends up back on the show too.

They deserve whatever they get with Stafford behind the scenes. I'm sure she'll be back to acting a plum ass petulant fool in no time, especially if they pair her back up with PB instead of Morrow. I do wonder how Sharon Case is feeling right about now.

Since Morina and JG are going this far can we PLEASE get Mishael Morgan back with the contract she deserves?!!!!

I dug her in the role. She could be a little too hard at times but she's always given effort and an interesting performance IMO., and she's been one of the main ladies carrying the show on her back this past decade. I think she fit in the role best when they had her paired with Jack and with red hair, the Philly stuff was a double edged sword. I think it was real obvious with Summer's last return that someone in the writers room was yearning for Stafford back in the role but Gina still rose to the occasion and did great work.

Jason Thompson will probably be next.

Yeah I believe JFP and co legitimately thought Jennifer Bransford was going to work. I could kind of see where they were going with her because she had that nasty white trash vibe that SJB could bring, except she had none of the sex appeal and was so hard looking. I remember the ruthless ways she would get dogged daily on SOC 

The mistake was thinking that since Carly was already being made less important in favor of Reese's Pieces, they could just repeat the way SJB's leaving was handled and throw in any random chick who looked similar enough and keep moving with the Michael's death/kidnapping story. They needed to get someone with experience to carry all that and JB just didn't have it. She played the hell out of the breakdown though. I remember SOD reporting her and her husband had just bought a new house and then ended up having a miscarriage right around the time she got canned so that always made me feel bad for her.

As for being a placeholder for Laura Wright, Laura wasn't even on their radar until her agent called Frons to tell him she was about to renew her contract with GL. Her getting offered Carly was very last minute

Sunny Hostin earned her keep today with the Bill Cosby analysis, ABC should lock her and Sarah Haines in ASAP.

Michelle is obviously toast at this point.

Candace is a major flop and today's episode showed exactly why. She couldn't even defend her views on Evolution vs Creationism. Have the opinion you have but at least be able to articulate why you feel the way you feel. She's an ignorant one trick pony, they need to just go ahead and part ways. Paula actually makes for a better uber Christian conservative because she can at least hold her own and doesn't come across as a complete idiot.

They've been having goes at Paula too, I actually feel kind of bad for her because on one episode Raven called her sneaky and then got really rude during an after show.

She should be really worried about Sarah Haines popping up so much, she fits in much better, just like she did during the final few episodes of last season and I don't think its a coincidence they keep bringing her back. 

You seem to be under the impression I'm only calling her self hating because of this recent idiotic spew which isn't the case. She's clearly a self hater when she sits her ass in an interview with Oprah and identifies as a "colorless American", when she goes on a tangent about having "good hair texture", when she fixes her mouth to complain about black women wearing weaves and blonde hair nevermind the atrocities sitting on top of her head, when she brags about being from every "continent" from Africa and Europe, when she laughs about Michelle Obama being compared to a monkey and Rosie Perez has to check her. The list can go on and on, this situation is just the cherry on top. She's a proven self hating idiot which is most likely why the network hired her.

And you are right, Whoopi did break barriers, in ways you could only dream of, so quit throwing her under the bus just because she holds different opinions from you, which are largely generational.
