  1. Congrats to Mahershala Ali on winning his second Oscar tonight for Green Book. I saw a tweet from Rolling Stone Twitter that said his win tonight is the quickest an actor has won for the same award since Tom Hanks in 1993 and 1994.
  2. It seems like they are letting some of the actors mainly the comedians help push this show along without a host. I liked the intro with Amy, Tina and Maya. And this bit with Melissa McCarthy and Brian Tyree Henry presenting the award for Best Costume Design is amusing as well. I wouldn't be surprised if we see more bits especially from comedians throughout this show. To help keep it entertaining, and not make it feel void without a host.
  3. It was nice seeing Chris Evans help Regina up to the stage as well. He's a gentleman and he is looking good.
  4. Congrats to Regina King for winning the award for Best Supporting Actress. I am very happy for her. 🙂
  5. I'm watching the red carpet on ABC and this seems like a more relaxed, "down to earth" type of Oscars Red Carpet. Overall, People, including the nominees seem nice and relatively easy going. I wonder how this show will end up faring without a host. I hope that Blakkklansman wins something even if that's only Adam Driver winning for Best Supporting Actor. I also hope that Regina King wins Best Supporting Actress. (I think she will).
  6. It looks like Pink is a theme at this year's Oscars. I saw several ladies in pink gowns including Angela Bassett, and Helen Mirren, who I thought looked nice in their gowns. Helen Mirren in particular looked really nice. IMO, she often looks good. I also liked Kacey Musgraves pink gown.
  7. I am happy that Regina King got an Oscar nomination. I am also glad that Blackkklansman got some Oscar Nominations. Blackklansman was a good movie, I enjoyed it.
  8. I am glad that Becky decided to raise the baby on her own, (with some guidance and help from Darlene if needed). I wasn't comfortable with outsiders raising her baby, especially given that she revealed she really did want to have children. I am glad that she didn't end up going through with the surrogacy last season as well. Even more so seeing how vapid Andrea seems as a mother. I like the young actress that plays Mary and her bond with Mark and her family. I think that Geena might come across better if they had her and DJ act more romantically towards each other. It would soften her character a bit. As of right now she's really straight laced and they don't act much like a couple and I think that limits her character. The first lady they had playing Geena was warmer, and more lighthearted. If they had this version of Geena act more like that, that could help her character.
  9. I'm happy to hear that.
  10. Out of the 6 amendments that were on the NC ballot these two were considered the most "dangerous" ones. I saw/heard local advertisements that were criticizing these two possible amendments in particular, and there were even Republicans that were against them. Some of the other six amendments actually didn't sound bad, and I'm not surprised that it looks like NC residents were split on how they voted for the six amendments. (Though, I did think that more people would oppose the voter ID one) . It looks like the majority of people will end up supporting four of the amendments/opposing two. It does look like Anita will win, I believe she has been received favorably as a candidate in the state.
  11. We have paper ballots too. Only one time have I ever voted a different way, (by using a lever), and that was the first time I voted at 18. Whenever I vote by paper ballot I will wait with whoever scans it and we will make sure it's been accepted. I read in that Mother Jones article posted about how some of the electronic voting machines weren't even plugged into a power source. Whoever is working at those sites/overseeing those sites need to do better than that and make sure stuff like that doesn't happen.
  12. I voted this afternoon a little after 2pm in NC with my dad. The polling place we vote at is never really busy. Didn't have any trouble getting in and out. I did hear about some glitches in at least one county in NC, that postponed voting. Hopefully they will get that worked out. I feel bad for people that wait to vote for a long time and then have to leave (because they have to do things like go to work). They need to figure out ways to be more accommodating to voters. Especially in areas where there might be large turnouts.
  13. I thought that tonight's episode wasn't as good as last week's but it was okay. I liked seeing the Conner's Muslim neighbors again, and I liked that Dan/Darlene basically ended up on the same side in regards to the situation with Mark's costumes. I think that the most interesting part was meeting Jackie's new love interest Peter, played by Matthew Broderick. He does fit her (the grey hair helps) and I liked that he was an intellectual, (though unemployed). I think it's interesting that they are saying he's in his 40s, I would have had him play his natural age group, (50's). I also thought it was interesting that Dan didn't like him, and I could see them clashing in the future.
  14. I thought that tonight's episode was good. IMO, It didn't have that bit of an empty void that last week's episode did without Roseanne. I thought that there were several interesting things going on with multiple characters. I really enjoyed Darlene tonight. It was a touching moment when David asked her how she was faring since Roseanne had died. I also enjoyed her interaction/chemistry with Justin Long. I wonder if he will stick around as her new love interest. I hadn't seen anything about him spoiled prior to tonight's episode. I also understood her anger towards Blue, especially in regards to Harris. Speaking of the development with Harris, I wonder if I also thought it was interesting that DJ's wife didn't seem to care for David. She definitely has a bit of a no nonsense attitude. I did like that she supported Darlene. And I liked seeing Becky work with Dan, though I do believe that her drinking will get worse.
  15. I wonder if he ends up being a possible love interest for Becky or Darlene.
  16. I think he might do better once he's interacting more with his wife and child. I had learned that he's married with kids in real life, so maybe he can tap into his experience from that and use it with his tv family. I can think of some examples of actors (including soap ones), where they weren't that good, but they shined in scenes with kids, because they were parents in real life. Maybe something like that will happen with DJ, in storylines with his child and his wife. I like Michael, so I hope that DJ gets some solid storylines, and that he ends up doing okay with them.
  17. Yes, I remember that. I specifically remember them talking about Jerry being on a boat. Some of us were just speculating about how they were going to address them not being around because their mother/Aunt died.
  18. Regarding Andy and Jerry I could see them doing something like saying Jerry showed up for the funeral, but was so distraught about Roseanne's death and went back out to the boat to be by himself. I had read somewhere last year that maybe they were thinking of casting Roseanne's real life son as Jerry, but that isn't going to happen now. So maybe we'll get that type of explanation as to why he's not around the family. I'm not sure if/when we will hear about Andy. Also, I could see the family clashing some with DJ's wife in the future. She seemed like she might be a bit stricter than the rest of them and I could see that leading to some tension in the future.
  19. I thought there was a darkness/emptiness that was hovering over the family with the loss of Roseanne. I thought that the cast as a whole did a good job but that you could feel Roseanne's presence being missed. The people's reaction that resonated the most with me was Becky and then Dan. There were some moments in the beginning of the episode where Becky had a terrified expression on her face when the family was talking about Roseanne's death and when the Coroner called and Becky realized the cause of death was worse than she had thought. I thought that was very realistic. She definitely seemed like someone who had already been through a tragic time (With the death of Mark) and was terrified to be experiencing that all over again. I thought that Lecy did a very realistic job portraying someone who had lost multiple loved one in tragic ways. I also felt for Dan, as he was trying to deal with the unexpected loss of his wife. I definitely understood his anger toward Marcy. The little children didn't seem as disturbed by Roseanne's death. Maybe because they were under the impression that it was a heart attack, and more natural way for her to die. I think that was also why most of the family as a whole seemed to be coping with it better in the very beginning before they found out about the overdose. I'm not sure if/when they will learn the truth about the overdose. Harris seemed upset, and I think that a big part of that also had to do with how much her and Roseanne argued before Roseanne died (which she mentioned to Darlene).
  20. I had saw that some people were surprised that Faith Hill was going to be at her service. But I definitely believe she reached/inspired a lot of different artists and probably were friends with a lot of them as well. Also, they are showing her whole service on HLN for any of you guys who have that channel. I think it's going to be a very lovely service and I am glad that a lot of people are celebrating her life.
  21. For a moment there I thought she was actually the little girl who played the biological daughter of Tom and Brooke (also named Laura), who was killed by a drunk driver. Instead of Lauren Roman who played the first Laura Kirk English (the girl that Brooke adopted.) I agree that Tommy J. Michael looks nice. I remember some people saying they should have brought Tim back once Amanda came back onto the show as an adult. And I hope that J Eddie Peck is doing well. I remember a while ago, being surprised when I found out what his real age is. He was older than I thought. He's almost 60 now.
  22. I'm not sure. I didn't see one on their Twitter page or on their website. They just had the pictures of the AMC/OLTL casts on the twitter page. I agree it is a random collection of people, lol. But I am glad to see some of the cast members again, including the kids.
  23. They are posted on soapcentral's Twitter account, @soapcentral. They have some pictures of OLTL people too.
  24. Soapcentral had posted some pictures the other day from an AMC/OLTL reunion. They had posted a picture of the AMC children that were born during the 2000s, and they got big. Time flies by fast. Pic of Madison, (Stephanie Gatschet) and the kids that played AJ Chandler, Spike, Miranda and Emma. I definitely recognize Spike. I think that AJ Chandler was the last kid they had playing Adam Chandler III before they did the online revival. Also, I think that Miranda is the toddler Miranda they had for a while, and I believe that is the second Emma. Some more pics featuring AMC cast:
  25. In the season finale of this last reboot Dan (jokingly) broached the subject of moving on if something happened to Roseanne. He (jokingly) seemed like he was willing to do that. He also told Roseanne that he wouldn't have a problem if she moved on with another man if he died. Roseanne told him she wanted him to be alone, if she died. I do wonder if they would eventually have him try and move on with someone else. I do think he will be grieving for a while. I am glad that Jackie will be staying around. I think that she will be a comforting presence to the family, if Roseanne dies.
