  1. I thought that tonight's episode was good. IMO, It didn't have that bit of an empty void that last week's episode did without Roseanne. I thought that there were several interesting things going on with multiple characters. I really enjoyed Darlene tonight. It was a touching moment when David asked her how she was faring since Roseanne had died. I also enjoyed her interaction/chemistry with Justin Long. I wonder if he will stick around as her new love interest. I hadn't seen anything about him spoiled prior to tonight's episode. I also understood her anger towards Blue, especially in regards to Harris. Speaking of the development with Harris, I wonder if I also thought it was interesting that DJ's wife didn't seem to care for David. She definitely has a bit of a no nonsense attitude. I did like that she supported Darlene. And I liked seeing Becky work with Dan, though I do believe that her drinking will get worse.
  2. I wonder if he ends up being a possible love interest for Becky or Darlene.
  3. I think he might do better once he's interacting more with his wife and child. I had learned that he's married with kids in real life, so maybe he can tap into his experience from that and use it with his tv family. I can think of some examples of actors (including soap ones), where they weren't that good, but they shined in scenes with kids, because they were parents in real life. Maybe something like that will happen with DJ, in storylines with his child and his wife. I like Michael, so I hope that DJ gets some solid storylines, and that he ends up doing okay with them.
  4. Yes, I remember that. I specifically remember them talking about Jerry being on a boat. Some of us were just speculating about how they were going to address them not being around because their mother/Aunt died.
  5. Regarding Andy and Jerry I could see them doing something like saying Jerry showed up for the funeral, but was so distraught about Roseanne's death and went back out to the boat to be by himself. I had read somewhere last year that maybe they were thinking of casting Roseanne's real life son as Jerry, but that isn't going to happen now. So maybe we'll get that type of explanation as to why he's not around the family. I'm not sure if/when we will hear about Andy. Also, I could see the family clashing some with DJ's wife in the future. She seemed like she might be a bit stricter than the rest of them and I could see that leading to some tension in the future.
  6. I thought there was a darkness/emptiness that was hovering over the family with the loss of Roseanne. I thought that the cast as a whole did a good job but that you could feel Roseanne's presence being missed. The people's reaction that resonated the most with me was Becky and then Dan. There were some moments in the beginning of the episode where Becky had a terrified expression on her face when the family was talking about Roseanne's death and when the Coroner called and Becky realized the cause of death was worse than she had thought. I thought that was very realistic. She definitely seemed like someone who had already been through a tragic time (With the death of Mark) and was terrified to be experiencing that all over again. I thought that Lecy did a very realistic job portraying someone who had lost multiple loved one in tragic ways. I also felt for Dan, as he was trying to deal with the unexpected loss of his wife. I definitely understood his anger toward Marcy. The little children didn't seem as disturbed by Roseanne's death. Maybe because they were under the impression that it was a heart attack, and more natural way for her to die. I think that was also why most of the family as a whole seemed to be coping with it better in the very beginning before they found out about the overdose. I'm not sure if/when they will learn the truth about the overdose. Harris seemed upset, and I think that a big part of that also had to do with how much her and Roseanne argued before Roseanne died (which she mentioned to Darlene).
  7. I had saw that some people were surprised that Faith Hill was going to be at her service. But I definitely believe she reached/inspired a lot of different artists and probably were friends with a lot of them as well. Also, they are showing her whole service on HLN for any of you guys who have that channel. I think it's going to be a very lovely service and I am glad that a lot of people are celebrating her life.
  8. For a moment there I thought she was actually the little girl who played the biological daughter of Tom and Brooke (also named Laura), who was killed by a drunk driver. Instead of Lauren Roman who played the first Laura Kirk English (the girl that Brooke adopted.) I agree that Tommy J. Michael looks nice. I remember some people saying they should have brought Tim back once Amanda came back onto the show as an adult. And I hope that J Eddie Peck is doing well. I remember a while ago, being surprised when I found out what his real age is. He was older than I thought. He's almost 60 now.
  9. I'm not sure. I didn't see one on their Twitter page or on their website. They just had the pictures of the AMC/OLTL casts on the twitter page. I agree it is a random collection of people, lol. But I am glad to see some of the cast members again, including the kids.
  10. They are posted on soapcentral's Twitter account, @soapcentral. They have some pictures of OLTL people too.
  11. Soapcentral had posted some pictures the other day from an AMC/OLTL reunion. They had posted a picture of the AMC children that were born during the 2000s, and they got big. Time flies by fast. Pic of Madison, (Stephanie Gatschet) and the kids that played AJ Chandler, Spike, Miranda and Emma. I definitely recognize Spike. I think that AJ Chandler was the last kid they had playing Adam Chandler III before they did the online revival. Also, I think that Miranda is the toddler Miranda they had for a while, and I believe that is the second Emma. Some more pics featuring AMC cast:
  12. In the season finale of this last reboot Dan (jokingly) broached the subject of moving on if something happened to Roseanne. He (jokingly) seemed like he was willing to do that. He also told Roseanne that he wouldn't have a problem if she moved on with another man if he died. Roseanne told him she wanted him to be alone, if she died. I do wonder if they would eventually have him try and move on with someone else. I do think he will be grieving for a while. I am glad that Jackie will be staying around. I think that she will be a comforting presence to the family, if Roseanne dies.
  13. Here is the series description of "The Connors" from the tvline article that @Jcar03 posted: “After a sudden turn of events, the Conners are forced to face the daily struggles of life in Lanford in a way they never have before. This iconic family — Dan, Jackie, Darlene, Becky and D.J. — grapples with parenthood, dating, an unexpected pregnancy, financial pressures, aging and in-laws in working-class America. Through it all, the fights, the coupon cutting, the hand-me-downs, the breakdowns – with love, humor and perseverance, the family prevails.” I wonder who has the unexpected pregnancy. I hope it's not Harris. Maybe it's Becky. We did find out that she wanted to have children though her chances of doing that are lower due to her age. Maybe she finally gets pregnant. Or maybe it's actually Darlene again and it's the result from her sleeping with David when he came back to town.
  14. Maybe if you want to we can still stay in this thread and you can just change the title to something like Roseanne/The Connors Revivals thread. Since the shows are so closely related and we already have a lot of good discussion going on in this thread.
  15. Good for the cast and crew that they are getting another spin off. It sounds like they may kill Roseanne off. I could see them saying she died during surgery. In the season finale of the reboot she mentioned being afraid to die during the surgery. Her and Dan talked about her fears of this and talked a little about what would happen if something happened to one of them. I think it would be sad and poignant if that indeed ends up happening. Though, I don't know how they would explain her absence if she didn't die, especially with the rest of the cast returning.
  16. I would be fine with another Reboot centered around Darlene. I do wonder how they would explain Roseanne's absence. In the season finale for this current reboot the family was shown happy together after getting some much needed financial assistance. And Roseanne was preparing to get surgery for her knee. So I wonder how they would transition from that to a story centered around Darlene. Would they have something happen to Roseanne? Or would they maybe have Darlene move out of the house and have her family members interact with her, and just mention from time to time that Roseanne is off doing different things.
  17. This is definitely an unfortunate situation. I feel bad for all of the cast and crew who lost their jobs over Roseanne's awful comments. It's a shame. I thought that the Reboot was really good and I will miss it.
  18. I'm glad that Crystal was able to retire with full benefits and that she was able and willing to help one of Roseanne's children get her vacated job. The show is showing how important it is to have benefits and a decent job, especially since Roseanne and Dan are struggling financially and don't have the best health insurance. (Which is factoring into Roseanne not being able to get surgery for her knee and overdoing it with the pain medication.) I don't know what exactly happened with "The Lunch Box" but Roseanne and Dan haven't had the best of luck with jobs. And they are starting to really feel the strain of that in their older years. I don't think they really have anything saved up and they don't have very good benefits. Good for Crystal for finding a job with good benefits and sticking with it and helping one of their kids have that opportunity. Darlene was right when she said it was "irresponsible" not to take that job given where she's currently at in her life, with two children to provide for. It was just unfortunate for Becky, that Darlene came to that conclusion after she intially said she didn't want the job.
  19. I enjoyed last night's episode. I felt kind of bad for Becky when she ended up letting Darlene have the casino job. I understood where Becky was coming from about not feeling like she didn't have as good of opportunities as Darlene who has a college degree. Plus, Darlene said she didn't want the job at first. I did think that Becky and Darlene had realistic dialogue regarding their feelings about which one needed the job more. Hopefully, Becky will go back to school and eventually get a better career. I liked seeing Dan continue to be a voice of reason and telling Darlene that while she has her dreams (of being a writer), she needs to start making decisions that will benefit her children now. I think she needed that push from him because I think that she has seemed a bit nonchalant since she's come back home. I enjoyed seeing Crystal again and liked that she helped out one of Roseanne's kids. I also thought it was interesting that they touched on Roseanne's issues with prescription medication and want to see where that storyline may go. And I thought it was sweet when Becky called Mary/little Mark her "baby birds". Those two kids are cute.
  20. I wish they would address Jackie/Andy too. Heck, mentioning that he is on the fishing boat with Jerry would have been fine with me, lol. It's strange they are acting like Jackie doesn't have a son, especially since she continues to be a loving/supportive Aunt (and now Great Aunt as well). I think that she deserves to have an adult son in her life to dote on and have a good relationship with, (even if she veered into really overprotective mode at times.) Maybe this scenario might be true of Andy/Jackie : Maybe we will find out after the show ended that Fred moved away and Andy didn't really see much of his father, causing him to act out when he reached his teenage years. He could have became really unruly causing Jackie to reach out to Fred. Fred visits them and they both decide it's best that Andy go live with him. While she might have agreed this was best, it still could have upset Jackie, causing some emotional (and physical) distance between her and Andy. Or maybe he was actually a well-behaved kid, who just once he got to a certain age ended up asking Jackie if he could live with Fred, because he wanted to be around his father more. This could have also hurt Jackie and caused distance between them. Things could get even more complex, if Fred remarried and Andy became close to his stepmother. Jackie could have felt like the new wife replaced her in Andy's life.
  21. I had thought they were going to draw out his relationship with Blue a while longer and then have Darlene eventually end up breaking those two up. I was surprised when they had them try and get back together so quickly and then break up again. I was also surprised that Roseanne didn't want them back together romantically as she loves David. (And in that episode it seemed like at first she did want them back together.) I also wonder if we will see Andrea again. I think it would have been better if she had been a neighbor or some type of family member.
  22. I was wondering too if David was paying child support or at least giving some money to her to help out sometimes. Especially since she's had to move in with Dan and Roseanne, who are now currently unable to fully pay all of their bills. David should be helping out in some way. Even if it's just giving her some money, and doing things like taking her/the kids grocery shopping sometimes. Roseanne did mention that Darlene got a severance check in the mail, but I don't know if she's getting unemployment or not. I also wonder when we might see her get another job.
  23. I enjoyed tonight's show and have been enjoying the show in general. I thought that the storyline with Roseanne's Muslim neighbors was good. I am glad that she got a better understanding of who they were as people. I also liked that she defended the wife when the cashier was being prejudiced towards her. Also, I am glad that they showed DJ's wife. I think that was good casting and she looks like she could be Mary's mother. And I like how this show addresses that there are families out there who are struggling financially. A lot of tv shows don't really address this. They portray families as being able to basically afford what they want without any financial struggles. And it's not representative of what a lot of families go through financially.
  24. I enjoyed tonight's two episode premiere. It was very warm and familiar. The acting from the cast was very natural. I thought that the episodes had a nice mixture of comedy and some drama. I don't care for Becky's storyline but I am enjoying most of the storylines so far. I am looking forward to learning more about DJ and his family.
  25. Some shows I thought were cancelled too soon were Reunion on Fox: I loved this show and how it was about a mystery and tried to chronicle the life of six friends over 20 years. Unfortunately it only got like 13 episodes and only 9 of them were shown in the US before it was cancelled. Life on Mars (The American Version) (2008-2009) I thought this was another good show that dealt with different time periods that was cancelled too soon. And the comedy Out All Night (1993). I felt like this show should have fared better. It was modern for it's time and had a nice cast. If it had came a few years later maybe UPN would have rescued it, like they did In the House.
