Harry and Meghan Interview with Oprah
It sounds like many people associated with the Royal family liked to spread lies/put their own spin on things regarding Prince Harry and Meghan. Meghan is saying they were told that Archie wouldn't be allowed to have a title like Prince or get security. But around the time he was born the press tried to say that Harry/Meghan didn't want him to have a title. She also said that someone from the royal family had multiple conversations with Harry voicing concern about how dark Archie's skin color would be. When Oprah asked who that royal family member was, Meghan wouldn't say because she said it would be very damaging to them. It's really unfortunate that one of Harry's family members would talk to him about him and Meghan's son that way. That is sorry behavior. Archie should not have been talked about in that way and he deserved security and the right to be called a Prince.

Harry and Meghan Interview with Oprah
I think this interview has been interesting so far. Meghan says that Kate actually made her cry and not the other way around, which is what the British media tried to paint. She mentioned it was related to Charlotte's bridesmaid dress and that Kate apologized. Meghan also says that the Queen has always been kind to her, which I believe. I do believe that the Queen genuinely likes Meghan and respects Harry's choice to be with her/wants him to be happy with his wife and family. I didn't think that the Queen was one of the people in the family giving her trouble.

Is anyone else watching this right now on CBS. I am interested in hearing what they have to say.

Anybody Ever Write their own Soap?
I just saw this thread. This is a cool thread. 🙂 I haven't written my own soap though I think it's cool that a lot of you guys have. That is something that has crossed my mind before. I do however write fan fiction that I've posted on the fan fiction website. I've written some in the past few years for Young and the Restless and Days. And I really need to update some of them lol. I haven't really updated some of them in like a year. Maybe I will update them in the next couple of weeks when I finally get some time off. But I've written fan fiction about the younger set that was on Y&R a few years ago especially about Ana, Fen and also, Summer, Kyle, etc... I'm writing one about the Winters families that is a sequel to one that I wrote about the younger set and is almost two years in the future from the last one. I also created a new black family in that fan fiction. There is an adopted white sibling in the family that marries Summer and his black family members come to town and mix it up with the Winters/other people. And I have another one about characters in Genoa City in general, ( and that also focuses a lot on younger characters) that I need to update.

Coronavirus/Covid-19 Discussion Thread
If you and your family live in Texas soapsuds, definitely try and be careful there.(And be careful in general no matter where you live) I am concerned about the lifting of the mask mandate, I could see that causing a potentially significant jump in cases. Texas needs to be careful or they could create their own variant like California/New York has. I have sympathy for people who work in public places like Walmart who now have to deal with even more anti maskers coming into their workplace. I have family that lives in Texas. One of my brothers and his wife, and niece live in Fort Worth. A lot of my sister-in-laws family lives there as well. I hope they stay safe there. Also, today has been two weeks since I have been vaccinated with my second COVID-19 shot. I'm in the range of being about as protected as I'm going to be for the time being. And I am very grateful. I hope that more people get the opportunity to get this shot. And IMO people should take advantage of getting it while they can. Especially with restrictions easing up and us going into allergy season. I'm already noticing more people sneeze and cough even more as we are entering allergy season. That could put more people at risk for catching COVID and people need to continue to be careful. Here where I live in NC, the next groups of people are now allowed to be vaccinated. The military here is now vaccinating high risk younger people ages 16-64. They are called by the naval hospital here and getting appointments only vaccinations. And the governor is letting other essential frontline people that are not apart of the military get their shots starting Wednesday. That includes people in places like grocery stores. I'm glad that more people that work in these very high risk/high exposure places can now get vaccinated. I'll also be glad when everyone that wants a vaccination can finally have access to a vaccine.

Coronavirus/Covid-19 Discussion Thread
I'm glad you are getting closer to having an opportunity to take the shot. It's something you can really consider taking, especially if you deal with a lot of people in public on a daily basis. I know the thought of taking it can be a bit worrisome for people. Heck, the very first day when my job offered me the opportunity to take it, I didn't go right away. Because it seemed very sudden (granted we had talked about taking the shot, but I thought it was still away off.) Me and one of my co-workers were talking about it and then the next thing you know we had the opportunity to do it. But when I first learned of the opportunity to get it, I didn't go that first day. I wanted to think more about the pros and possible cons/risks of taking it.. Well after talking to my dad, I decided to take it a few days later. The first day I could have taken it was a Friday, the day I ended up taking it was Monday. (The place where the vaccine was being given wasn't open on Saturday/Sunday). I'm glad I took the shots especially since I deal with a lot of exposure at work. I deal with a ton of exposure every day at work and have been dealing with the risks of possibly catching COVID for almost a year now. I just felt like it was good to get the shot, to help decrease my chances of catching it or at least a severe case of it. I'm still careful in other ways like wearing a mask, washing my hands, keep distance when I can, though that's very hard to do at work. But this does help me feel better regarding working in a high risk environment. Even more so because I have co-workers who refuse to get vaccinated. My advice would be for you and your co-worker to definitely drink a lot of liquids like water(if you don't already) at least a few days before taking the shots. (If you decide to get vaccinated). I believe that could help lower the risks of having more severe side effects. People I know who didn't drink a bunch of water were people who had the more severe side effects, as opposed to those who stayed hydrated. It's a good opportunity to take the show. If you pass on it now, you may have to wait a while before you can get it again. Where I live the military is no longer offering the first shot for people, it's the second shot only for the time being. So people who decided not to get the first shot when they had the chance, but want it now will have to wait. Even though the risk of Covid is still out there.

Coronavirus/Covid-19 Discussion Thread
I'm glad your parents are feeling okay and that you didn't have severe side effects from the second shot. And I definitely think there is something to staying hydrated. The lady from work that I mentioned who had the most severe symptoms is someone who doesn't like to drink water. I do believe there may be something to that. I definitely recommend people stay hydrated, it wouldn't hurt and could definitely help. So far at work we've had at least 17 people vaccinated. All of them were pretty much fine after the first shot outside of arm soreness and one was a little fatigued. The second shot at least two of them had very severe reactions and had to miss work. Others didn't have as severe reactions but did report more side effects from the first shot like headache, tiredness, and loss of taste. I think it's important that people are informed of about the different side effects that can happen and hopefully most people won't have severe ones. I do have quite a few co-workers who refused to get vaccinated for various reasons. Some of them are afraid of the vaccine and possible side effects. Others have health issues and it may not be safe for them to get the shot right now. The base where I work is no longer giving out first shots, they are only giving out second shots. So it might be a while before people can the opportunity to get their first shot. I live in NC and I think we may be doing a nice job with vaccinations and things like hospitalizations from COVID are down here.

Thanks soapfan770. 🙂 It's nice to see you too. I've been working a lot and haven't been around as much due to that. I am doing some catching up after falling behind on episodes and all of these latest developments seem rough, lol. Poor Devon. He shouldn't be used like this and neither should Mariah. I do wonder where the show will end up going with this storyline. I wonder if this is all about giving Abby a child or is this some way to actually give Mariah a child and have it be fathered by a man she respects/trusts in Devon. I don't know, but I don't like to see Devon used like this. Or though I'm not a big fan of her, Mariah used like this either. Some people think this is foreshadowing that Devon will have a baby with Elena or Amanda and will rescind his offer to father Abby's baby. I hope he does rescind the offer.

Coronavirus/Covid-19 Discussion Thread
I got the Pfizer vaccine and all of my co-workers including the ones who had severe reactions to the second dose got the Pfizer vaccine. I hope everyone's parents end up being okay. My dad got his first shot almost a couple of weeks ago at the VA Clinic. I think he got the Moderna one as well, as his second shot is almost a month away. The first shot was fine, and I will also be checking on him after the second shot. I got my second Pfizer shot yesterday morning before 8am. 37+ hours later and I am fine. I currently haven't experienced any severe side effects, I just had some arm soreness for like a day or so. I did hydrate a lot for a few days before the shot, including the day before and of it. I drunk a bunch of water and Body Armour sports drink. I do believe that made a difference. The co-workers that I talked to that ended up being fine/not having severe side effects, were people who stayed hydrated before and the day of the shot. They recommended that I do the same and I'm glad I did. I think that some of the people who didn't hydrate as much had the more severe side effects. I recommend people drink a good amount of water/fluid around the time of the second shot (and in general). I also drink immune booster drinks with vitamin d and zinc and have been drinking them for months, along with taking immune vitamins. I deal with a bunch of exposure at work, working for/dealing with a lot of the military so I try and protect myself as much as I can. We had several other people get their second shots yesterday like I did and as far as far as I know at least most of them are okay. Most of them were also older people. I didn't hear of anymore else experiencing severe side effects, though some people mentioned arm soreness, being tired and someone did mention that they lost their sense of taste for a bit. But now they are fine.

lol, Darn. It really is awful. And doesn't make a lick of sense. Devon doesn't have any business offering to father a baby with Abby/Mariah, especially given he lost a child and the pain that caused him that he has romantic feelings for two women that aren't either Abby or Mariah. And he's starting a new relationship with one of them (Amanda). It doesn't make sense given all he's been through/going through that he would choose to donate sperm to a child he wouldn't raise. And I don't see how Amanda/Elena would be cool with what he's doing. I think that Amanda in particular would be really uncomfortable with it. This would be less strange if Devon was single and neither Elena or Amanda were around. Though, I still wouldn't like it or think it makes a bunch of sense. Or even if neither Elena/Amanda were around and Devon/Abby had gotten closer after Chance disappeared. Like say Abby was led to believe he had died, and she ended up sleeping with Devon. And then Abby discovered she really could get pregnant. Granted people still wouldn't like that either, but that would make more sense than this storyline I also don't like Mariah being the surrogate for Abby. It's not realistic. IRL Mariah would not be a good surrogate due to her never having giving birth before. I dislike surrogacy storylines on the soaps (and in general) and this one big reason why. They often have a young woman who's never given birth before volunteering to be one for a woman she's normally not that close to and maybe has even despised in the past. It is just not realistic.

I saw on Twitter a post that said in the latest SOD Recaps section that Devon will offer to be the sperm donor for Abby. One of the reporters from TV source also states they've known about this storyline for two weeks. I definitely don't like that. I don't want him involved in that storyline like that. I also don't like Mariah being used as a surrogate for Abby. It's even worse that Chance isn't on screen when Abby is going forward with this. Devon already has enough going on with being torn between Amanda/Elena. And it sounds like Moses may pop up soon. He doesn't need to be offering up his sperm to Abby/Mariah to create a baby for them. And this doesn't even make sense. Plus how will Amanda/Elena feel about him doing this, Amanda who had reservations about getting in a relationship with him and Elena who still has feelings for him. He has enough drama with those two, that he doesn't need to be involved with this Abby/Mariah storyline outside of being a friend they can confide in from time to time in this story. Coronavirus/Covid-19 Discussion Thread
I'm glad you and your husband ended up being okay Ponds after the second shot. And that you didn't have severe side effects. I talked to my second co-worker that had to call out sick, yesterday and here is what she said about her side effects: She said that she initially felt fine after the shot, (she took it on Friday morning) but by 2am Saturday morning she woke up feeling nauseous. She threw up and had severe body aches in her body. She said she had to end up sleeping throughout the day. I get mine tomorrow, I hope things end up going okay, but I do wonder with the reports of people having more severe reactions. So far the people that I've talked to that had severe reactions didn't get them until several hours/about a day later. I am hearing/reading about more people having that type of experience. People are saying they initially feel fine after the second shot, then they feel like they've been hit by a truck. So if people get the second dose, you might want to try and see if you can have the next day off from work. So just you can possibly have time to recover. Other people are suggesting to stay hydrated/well rested before and after the second dose, which I think is good advice. Do that if you can.

Coronavirus/Covid-19 Discussion Thread
Hopefully you'll end up being okay and having the day off could help. The co-worker that I talked today that had severe side effects also said she was "sick as a dog". She said it was a very painful experience. Thankfully it didn't last more than like a day and a half for her. I hope you will be fine. I also hope, my other co-worker who is out sick, side effects will subside soon and she won't be out too long. Hopefully companies will continue to work and improve these vaccinations so maybe in the future we can get something that won't cause people to have as severe of reactions. My co-worker today said she didn't want to go through that experience again, when we talked about the possibility of COVID vaccinations being a yearly thing like the flu shots are. If the side effects are too severe that could deter people from wanting to get them regularly if that's recommended or even getting a second shot. There are other vaccines being worked on including one from Novavax, which has created a more traditional vaccine. If that one and others has less side effects, hopefully they can be on the market next year. And we can have more of a choice of which vaccine we want to take. Plus Novavax is actually talking about getting a vaccine that would protect people from both Covid and the flu, which could be very useful. And could cut down on the number of covid/flu vaccinations people are recomended to take. Also, the co-worker that got sick told me that she heard they are running out of the vaccine here and that after this Wednesday the 17th, they won't be giving out anymore "first doses" for the time being. (Until they get more of the vaccine in supply.) It sounds like they will just be giving out second doses while they can. I told a couple of my co-workers, people should have/should take the opportunity while they can to get this vaccine. I do believe we will end up having enough for everyone, but that's not something someone wants to fall even further behind in line, especially if they are offered the opportunity to get it. I do know people who refused to get it, though they were offered the chance.

This was the case with me and my co-workers after our first shot. Everyone felt fine outside of a little arm soreness and one person said they felt a little fatigued. But this second shot is giving some people severe issues. Most of my co-workers received their second shot this past Friday, with the one I talked to, today getting her shot on Thursday. At least one of the ones that I talked to that hasn't had severe side effects to it mentioned that she tried to stay hydrated prior to the shot especially the day of it. She mentioned drinking water/gatorade. So hydration could possibly help make a difference in the severeness of side effect. I'm going to make sure to try and stay hydrated before my shot on Tuesday and maybe that will help. The co-worker that stayed hydrated did mention also having opposite arm soreness (like one of my co-workers who had severe side effects did), which she thought was a bit unusual.

I hope you are doing fine after your first dose jcar03 and I hope you end up being fine after your second shot amybrickwallace. Unfortunately, I have had some co-workers/know of people who have had severe reactions to their second shot. Both of them had to call out sick due to the side effects. I talked to one today after she came back to work and here is what she told me happened to her. She said that she started feeling pain in her neck and arm on the evening of the day she got her shot. (Which was a few days ago). She mentioned that the opposite arm from the one that she got her shot in, was pretty sore. (Another co-worker mentioned that happened to them as well.) My co-worker said that she had severe chills where she was freezing all day/night long. She mentioned putting on robe, three blankets, and a heating pad, and still freezing. She also said that the pain she experienced in her neck/arm shot all the way down her body and she had severe body aches. She mentioned she also had a headache and had difficulty sleeping. She said it was the worst pain she's felt. Another co-worker got her shot on Friday and also called out sick today. When she comes back I will ask her about her side effects as well. And a third-coworker said their son had a really bad reaction to the second dose as well. She mentioned him having many of the same problems my other co-worker did and I think she said it affected his heart rate. Both of my co-workers who had severe reactions didn't started having them until like a day after they got their shot. So that maybe something people need to look out for after they get their second dose. I get my second dose on Tuesday. I hope everything goes okay, though these possible side effects do sound pretty concerning.

I'm glad you didn't suffer a catastrophic loss due to only having the one share. Unfortunately, some people (maybe a lot) will probably suffer very big losses. IMO, This is just not a stock/business that people really believe in at the end of the day right now, and isn't really going anywhere anytime soon. The Reddit user who helped jumpstart the retail trading of GameStop lost a bunch of money today. Reddit user who helped inspire GameStop mania says he lost $13 million on Tuesday, but is still holding on (msn.com) I think that AMC maybe could rebound someday if anyone wants to hold onto those shares while they are relatively cheap. We may end up going back to the movies more frequently again once we get more people vaccinated and can get COVID more under control. AMC was one that some of the stock sites were saying to buy and hold before WSB tried to drive the price up. Not sure about blackberry though I also remember that being listed on some of the sites as a buy. Maybe things will end up being okay for that as well.

You're welcome Toups. 🙂 Here are a couple of biotech stocks you guys can keep your eyes on if you are looking to invest in stocks from that sector. Dynavax (DVAX) is a stock that has been increasing nicely lately. A few days ago it was $6 per share, now it's at $10 per share in the afterhours. I have some shares of this and bought in at around $4. I will buy some more before the price goes up to high. I believe they may be working on a COVID vaccine (I think with another company) as well, so keep your eye on this stock and it's potential to increase. CNN business is predicting a high target of $20 per share over the course of a year, with a median target of $14. I wonder if it may actually go higher than $20 per share. It's possible. Also, 9 Meters Biopharm (NMTR) is another very cheap biotech penny stock. I own shares of this stock as well. It's currently trading at like $1.49 per share, but is predicted to increase from anywhere to $3 possibly up to like $6 per share within the next year. So, this is another very cheap stock people could buy into and try and get some earnings off of: Dynavax Announces Exercise of Option to Reserve Additional CpG 1018 to Produce 40 Million Doses of Valneva's Inactivated, Adjuvanted COVID-19 Vaccine Candidate for the UK Government (yahoo.com) Why Dynavax Stock Is Skyrocketing Today | The Motley Fool NMTR - 9 Meters Biopharma Inc Forecast - CNNMoney.com Maybe people can make some earnings on them especially if you get in early while they are still relatively cheap.

I had found out about that stock at marketwatch. I wish those forums were still around over there. I don't think they are. They had some very smart people over there who gave good information about stocks. I was fortunate to find out about Novavax there. That stock has been successful for me though I didn't own a ton of shares. I sold some shares and I was able to move to a better apartment and buy new furniture because of that. I was also able to build up my savings with the shares I have left. And some other people that got in early like I did (or even earlier) and bought a bunch of shares have probably become rich off of that stock, lol. It was even cheaper earlier last year at like 3 or $4 dollars in January. It's been successful because people really believe in their nano flu vaccine they are working on and now the COVID one that has had some good results. This was a legitimately successful penny stock that grew exponentially. Some of the sites I like are investorplace, which will list good stocks to buy including cheap ones. And sometimes will tell what the upsides for the stocks can be for the year. I also like to use us news and world report money website and Kiplinger.com There is also a site called pennystocks.com for people who are interested in investing more with pennystocks. And Yahoo finance and their forums are pretty good. The Yahoo finance forums are places you can after you buy stocks to help track their progress and get insight from users who seem to really understand stocks. I also like to google stuff like best cheap stocks for 2021 and that will bring up some good links. Here's one from investorplace that suggests some cheap stocks people can buy with money their stimulus check. Or Tax Refunds too, lol. When I first started investing with Robinhood last March, I took some money from my tax refunds along with money from paychecks to start investing. Taking some money from a refund, if people can spare it is a good way to get started with investing. 8 Cheap Stocks to Buy With Your Next Stimulus Check | InvestorPlace I already own stock in one of the companies on this list Marathon oil. That stock I think is one people could look at if they want an energy stock. It's cheap at under $8 per share and from what I've seen the upside for it could be as high as $14 this year. And I believe it could end up paying a small dividend like 0.03 per share. And Ford is another one on this list that I think I will buy some shares in. It's under $11 per share and I keep seeing multiple websites say buy it. (Just like I saw multiple sites suggest buying stuff like Nokia and even Gamestop before the people on reddit artificially drove the price of it up. Some analysts must have a hunch it will go up at some point. They are producing an electric car and that could eventually help drive up the price of the stock. That's a cheaper one that people could buy and hold.

Cool. 🙂 Will definitely do that throughout this thread. One type of stock that I really like to invest in is biotech penny stocks. They can be pretty volatile but if they hit, they can hit big. I made some money with the penny biotech stock Novavax. This stock is now currently on Robinhood's limited purchases list. People are only allowed to buy one share of it. I started buying shares of this stock in March of last year around $9 per share. I bought some more as the price went up but my average cost is $18.16. I really didn't buy anymore after it hit $25 per share .I watched this stock continue to climb all throughout this past year. Today Novavax is currently $220 (and went as high as $228 today) a share. I sold some shares last year when I wanted to move and buy new furniture. I sold at like $143 a share and a little lower than that. But I still held onto a few shares and I'm glad I did. I first found out about this stock I believe on the marketwatch forums (back when they still had them). I saw a couple of people discussing it and it's technology for it's flu vaccine called Nanoflu. The information sounded good to me so I decided to purchase a few shares. And then purchased some more. I never owned a bunch of shares but I had/have enough to make a nice profit. Especially for the amount I paid for it overall. The company also released their results on their COVID-19 vaccine yesterday and they are pretty positive. They have the best results overall of the vaccines and they have like an 86% success rate with the UK variant. Moderna/Pfizer haven't really released information about what their success rate is for that variant. They also tested the South African Variant, which wasn't as successful, but still more information than Moderna/Pfizer have released about how their vaccines work against the variant. I am reading up on other biotech stocks to see which other ones may have the ability to be successful and have a good climb from a cheap price. That's another thing I often check for when I buy stocks what is the projected upside for it over a period of time. (Usually at least a year). There are some sites that are good at showing those projections. One of them is CNN's busines site which I like to use for stocks. It's dangerous and he is doing all of that he definitely can't afford these high priced Gamestop shares and is wasting money IMO. Funny thing is, a few months back some investing sites were actually recommending people invest in Gamestop. (They also recommended Nokia and AMC, and I wonder if people saw those lists and that helped in their decisions to specifically target those stocks). They thought it would have a nice turnaround. This was back when the stock was like under $15 a share. I remember thinking about buying some shares back, then but I didn't. I remember the company having some bad press I think due to COVID, (maybe some sort of policy about their stores, I can't remember exactly what.) If I had bought it back then I definitely would have sold almost if not all of it the first day the Gamestop stock started going really crazy, because people were artificially driving up the price. I would have taken that money and ran lol. And I'm sure some people who bought in low did that. I do think that buying in at these very high prices like over $300 is a mistake. I don't believe what is going on with this stock is sustainable and at least as of right now, I don't really think things are that promising for the company. Some people are definitely going to lose a lot of money doing this.

This situation is something else. I saw that people have just bought a class action lawsuits against Robinhood. On one hand I love Robinhood and opened up an account back in March. It was the best financial decision I've ever made. I ended up investing in stocks including a biotech penny stock.that did very well. I was able to cash some of that stock in and move to a much nicer apartment and build up my savings. I believe that everyone should be allowed to invest. No matter what their income.isespecially working people. People need more.than one means of.income. Sites like Robinhood are very beneficial and make it affordable for regular people to become investors. I do think them trying to limit the free market is definitely backfiring. However I do have concerns about people running up these stocks artificially to astronomical amounts. Some of this also can/will backfire for people buying these stocks at like $300 per share. If you got in early/already owned it before it shot up,good for you. I hope you sold at least some of it and made a nice profit. If you bought in very high that is dangerous.

Thank you. 🙂 I hope your parents are able to get it soon. They may be able to. I think that the next group of people that might be able to get it include elderly people that are in their 60's but under 75. I know those people are included in the next group that the military want to vaccinate. My dad technically is in that group, he's in his early 70s. The VA is supposed to give him his, but if not he could get his shot the same place I got mine, though he might have to wait a little longer. Maybe the next group of people in general (including non military people) will feature more elderly people under 75. I think that if people are able to get this shot, it's a good idea for most of them to get it. I do believe that most people will be fine after getting this vaccination. Sure, there is risk in getting it, and there will be people that could suffer more severe reactions, but overall I think that most people will be okay after they get it. The people with things like allergies shouldn't get it, but I believe that most everybody else will be fine. And I think it will give a lot more people peace of mind, especially those of us who have high risk/high exposure jobs. Thank you soapsuds. 🙂

lol. Some people are bit rougher with the shots and it does seem like some people may stab people when they give shots. When I got mine the lady was gentle and it was the same when I got my flu shot back in October. Hopefully people will be gentle most of the time. I think if someone is a bit leery of shots it helps if they tell that to the person who is giving it to them. And hopefully that will cause them to make sure they are more gentle. I'm glad your parents have been vaccinated and I hope they are doing well. My dad has been put on the list to get his shot from the VA and I hope he gets it soon. I am glad to hear you are feeling fine. I got my first dose of the Pfizer vaccine this morning. I work for the federal government/military and deal with a bunch of military service members on a daily basis. I was able to be grouped into the 1b group (non medical essential/frontline group of workers). I feel fine. The shot didn't hurt. Some of my co-workers went and got their shots this past Friday and they are feeling fine. Most of them said the worst thing they experienced was a little soreness in their arm, and one said she felt a little fatigued after the second day, but overall they are doing fine. I'm glad I got the shot and my second one is scheduled for February 16th. The military is doing a good job of getting people vaccinated where I live, some people are already getting their second doses. They are offering it for free for different groups of people on a walk in basis. People that qualify for this shot should take advantage of getting it while they can. (Barring things like having allergies, being unable to take the shot for some reason).

Thank you Taoboi. 🙂 I hope that your sister ends up being okay. I wish her and your family the best and I'm glad your mom has recovered. It's unfortunate that there are those of us who have to deal with this. These people that won't wear masks in public places that (especially ones that have signs saying informing them to do so) are so jerky. You can tell a lot of them they don't have a job where they are required to wear a mask. They are probably fortunate enough to work from home, or maybe they aren't working at all. Regardless though they are selfish. All they have to do is wear a mask for a few minutes in a place inside like a store, that's it. Some of us have to wear these things full time at one or multiple jobs, and we still wear them in other public places. And now some states are proposing we wear them even inside of our homes. Even though they can be uncomfortable and cause their own share of problems. The least these people could do is wear one for a few minutes and try and protect other people in public. Especially since we are about to enter flu and cold season. I have to tell people they need to wear masks too at times. I work for the military and thankfully most people are actually complaint with the mask mandate. Because they know if a higher up catches them without one they could get in trouble. But you still have a few that won't wear one sometimes when they come into my workplace. Also it looks bad when people pretend like they didn't know masks are required at a public place, especially when most other people are wearing one and there are signs saying they need to wear one. And it's extra bad when I see a couple and only one of them is wearing a masks. It's like only one you cares? I wonder how they are going to try and enforce all of these stricter rules. I don't know that they can. North Carolina has gotten a bit stricter as well. They are now saying people have to wear masks when they are actively exercising in gyms, even in gyms that do well with social distancing and sanitizing. The gym I go to does well with both of those things, and was already requiring people wear masks if they weren't actively exercising (like if they are just walking around the gym). But now we have to wear them even on things like treadmills, even when other machines are blocked off around her providing at least six feet of distance. The governor has also said that people should wear masks inside of their homes more often, limit the number of people at gatherings. It has been suggested that some cities will use city officials to try and enforce these rules. Though, I'm not sure how they are going to go about handling what people do in their actual homes. I do think that people are going to push back/ignore on a lot of these stricter rules, including the ones trying to control what they do inside of their own homes. Like limiting the amount of people that can gather in a household. Some people have larger families so that can be a problem. And I'm not sure how many people are really going to be wearing masks inside of their homes every time they are with someone from other household or especially a family member from a different household. I don't think that's realistic. Especially for those of us who are already wearing masks a lot of the time anyway. Some of these rules would have us wearing masks almost 100% of the time. And that's not realistic or bearable for a lot of people. Common sense has gone out the window for a lot of people regarding this issue. I believe that people need to wear masks in public places and avoid really large gatherings/crowds. Especially higher risk people. I discourage my elderly dad all of the time from going into public places and will run errands for him/pick up things for him whenever I can. I also make sure I tell him to wear a mask every time he goes to a public place. And whenever we go any place together, and am in a car together, I will actually wear my mask, just to give him extra protection. Because we can't do six feet of separation in the car. One big reason I do that is because I have a high exposure job and want to be more protective of him. I think we need to continue to focus largely on making sure people wear masks in public. And also focusing the fact that we are about to enter the flu/cold season and this is a big reason why COVID is spreading very quickly right now. More people are starting to cough/sneeze more spreading it around. I haven't seen that much advice given from people, even some of the medical experts on how people can keep themselves healthier so they are less likely to develop severer symptoms and spread covid even more. And give advice on how people can strengthen their immune system, so that if they do catch COVID, they are more likely to recover from it. I'm seeing/hearing more stories about how people with symptoms are showing up to jobs and giving people COVID and killing them. We need to emphasize more people taking care of themselves as well during this season and also stressing how they do not need to go to work if they are showing symptoms. I think these types of things will go further than trying to police how many people are at someone's thanksgiving dinner. Or demand that people wear masks in their homes as well especially if they can social distance/sanitize their homes. Though, I don't believe that people should have a bunch of people over right now. (Unless it's immediate family and they can find ways to distance). I think that smaller gatherings with loved one and even friends can be okay, just as long as people are smart/safe about it.
