Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Glad to see they revived Sydney and went the Miami route by keeping some of the original women (Krissy & Nicole); however, as heinous as they were, Lisa and Athena should've been the other 2 kept too. The downside is that Sydney will never have it's own identity if they don't give them their own theme. Using the Melbourne theme is just dumb. The sad part is Sydney has its own theme. I don't know why they don't use it. I am wondering if it is a music rights thing.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Whoever cast Angie K. needs to be stoned. She is painful to watch. Never have I seen someone so eager to assimilate into the show by fighting in my life. Dare I say it but had Meredith bussed her in the mouth, she would've been right. If someone keeps telling you to get out of their space and stop talking to them, you should do so. She and Whitney totally disrespected Meredith last night. Meredith handled it better than most.

I know you were joking! That aside, don't you just miss Debbie Dingle--the Queen of the Dales?!

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Is it just me or does anyone else not like Sai? I just find her to be dark energy. She stays starting crap (alongside Erin), but she tends to walk away unscathed. I PRAY that they hung her out to dry at the reunion. She and Erin irk my nerves the most out of the new batch of apples. Dare I say it, but Bravo needs to add a new city or two because one part of the year can't be top-heavy with shows while the other lags. Yes, I get that Dubai, BH, Potomac, NJ, and Miami are all going to pop up November/December, but they really need another show in rotation at the moment with SLC and NY. Dare I say, but either revive Dallas or DC and just give them a smaller episode count. Bravo just feels vacant right now.

Seriously though, I don't know where they got the idea that the Dingles were the best family. I am behind on UK soaps, but I doubt they are the best. I would've assumed that everything going on with the Beales lately that they would've won this award but whatever. Congrats to the Dingles aka the first family of Emmerdale! 😂

I was just coming in here to troll you about this. 😂 Aren't they just the best family in soap history?!

It was OK. I do think the performances were solid and it was painful to see Jacob, who we've all seen grow up, being groomed and lashing out at everyone as they tried to break the hold Maya had on him.
-
Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
Yeah. In 2018, Jacob was groomed by his teacher who was messing with David at the same time too.

OMG! I didn't know that he was 21 now, but still. I think it is icky to have Victoria pursue anything with Jacob given that he was groomed by an older woman previously and the village all saw the effect it had on Jacob. Yes, I know he's now legal but it seems out of character for Victoria to even go that route.

Wait? Victoria and Jacob?! But he's just a baby. Lord... I have not watched in eons but what the h*ll is going on with my beloved 'Dales?! This doesn't make any sense.

Seeing those pics of Kathy [Hays] getting emotional brings me to tears. Kim always had a soft spot in my heart. The pics also piss me off as I see that Snyder kitchen set that grated my nerves. I grew to hate that set. It unnerved me how they simply couldn't slap up a set for Bob & Kim or Lisa or Lucinda at the end of the show. All that aside, I get happy to see something about ATWT popping up. God, I miss this show...

Storylines and periods in a show that made you STOP watching
I always felt he had romantic lead chemistry--at least with Ali, Nadia, and Ari. But again, Lucas was always second fiddle in all those pairings, so we never got to see him being the desired party. It was always Chloe, Nicole, or Sami yearning for another man. I wish that they would've brought on someone to pair Lucas with and allow him to have that one great love. Again, it just boggles my mind that any scion of Tom/Alice is not leading the show. At this stage, Lucas, Mike, Hope, and Jennifer should be the four pillars of the show with Sarah, Abigail (don't get me started on them stupidly killing her), JJ, Ciara, and Shawn D. driving story constantly. That's just me. The descendants of a legacy family should always be front and center.

Storylines and periods in a show that made you STOP watching
I just think 2006 and onward as a whole started to damper my love of soaps. I feel like 2005 was the last year where anyone actually tried to give soapy drama that was centered in reality. For me, it was really when Y&R sent Dru over that cliff, followed by Brad being killed in the ice pond, and Adam heinously gaslighting Ashley, etc. Then on World Turns, we had Luke and Noah constantly petting each other or yearning for each other to the point they killed any momentum. Then we had Janet Ciccone and her brat, Liberty, eating up the show alongside Katie. And the stories felt more episodic than long-term. B&B had bored me for the longest with the constant Taylor v. Brooke over Ridge. The halo being knocked off Taylor's head brought me back in for a second, but that was nuked with embryo crap with Nick, which went nowhere (we don't even get a mention of the child). And Stephanie (even though I loved to hate the character) inadvertently causing Brooke to be raped. The icing on the cake was Oliver banging Brooke and not being able to tell the difference between her or Hope. Guiding Light was just painful to watch after Ellen Wheeler took over. Tammy/Jonathan was gross. Gus/Harley grew tiring. I didn't even care for Josh/Reva, and Cassie getting with Josh was so out of character for her. Other soaps: *AMC and Dixie dying via pancakes. I just felt that was a waste of Cady McClain's talent and time. *POC characters being tossed aside for White counterparts on OLTL. I grew tired of watching Evangeline and Antonio getting cast aside for Natalie and Nash getting the upper hand. But I guess they got the last laugh as Natalie later caught hell from Marty and Nash died, so there's that. *Like many others, I grew tired of the show being all about Sonny/Carly/Jason/Sam. What really ended me watching GH was when they heinously murdered Georgie and made Diego the killer. They totally tossed aside the fact that Diego once had strong feelings for Georgie and would've never killed her. Per usual, Georgie always got the short end of the stick under Guza. *With Days, it was Sami falling for her rapist (EJ). Then it propelled to Lucas being the third wheel to their pairing and being cast aside when he is a HORTON. Lucas should be driving story and be the actual lead on this show. I never understood how Days didn't see the value in Bryan Datillo.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
That's odd. I could still see Kandi's Speak on It with Allison after it was supposedly taken down. Maybe if you're subscribed, you can see it. But whatever. I couldn't make it past the first 5 minutes as Courtney grates my nerves; however, I am in a small group as I do think that after those last 5 minutes with Courtney MUST be brought back if Drew is being brought back. Dare I say it, I think that either Sheree, Marlo, or Sanya's peaches need to be given to Courtney. Why? B/c she'll provide more depth info with Ralph/Drew's divorce. That aside, production is the real huge change that needs to happen with this show.

Eva won't return to the show in any capacity. She said she is done with the show. Kenya and Kandi have rallied for her to return, but Eva doesn't want to be on the show anymore. Plus, Eva has a hit Tyler Perry show on BET+ called All the Queen's Men. From what little I've seen of the show, she's actually good. I think Eva is back in the element she wants to be in--scripted TV. With Porsha, it is well-known that I am not a Porsha fan; however, I have grown to find her tolerable and realize her importance on this show. I do think that bringing her back would stop some of the bloodshed and whimpering from RHOA fans. While I think the show is in a slump, I still find pleasure in watching RHOA as they are the one show in the franchise that I know I am going to get a good laugh and not feel total icky after watching. I am with @Taoboi that Marlo has to fully accept her villain role in order for to work in future seasons. They cannot pull the same crap of having her be a villain and victim. It is tiresome and not working in her favor. I do stand firm that Sheree is deadweight. I get she is an "OG," but she is one that does not work. If this show is in dire need of an OG and we can't have Nene back, the next best choice is Lisa Wu. Kim would be logical, but I can't bear to watch her clock in half-time and reap the benefits of the rest. It annoyed me to no ends back then and would do the same now. If Kim is to ever return, she will have to give as much as the rest. Otherwise, she and her wigs can stay gone forever.- Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Cynthia said she doesn't wanna hold a peach again. She'd prefer to be a friend that pops in organically and pops out.- Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
@Gray Bunny, I think that by SLC coming in so hot, so fast, they burned out just as quickly. Season 3 was one of the worst seasons EVER in the entire franchise. Regarding RHOA, Sheree might need the money but she adds nothing, so in the end, she needs to either go or be downgraded to a well-paid friend of the show. The only reason I am suggesting keeping Sanya and MarHo at this point is b/c I want to see Sanya in the hot seat for a season, and MarHo at least falls into the villain role. Production needs to tell her ass to pull it back.- Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
^ I've been saying this for the longest. Production is the issue. It isn't the cast. We saw last year that this cast can deliver when necessary. They are doing it at times this year; however, production is pushing them to do dumb sh*t they did in the past. The only change I'd make to the cast is getting rid of 1 or 2 of the Marlo/Sheree/Sanya crew (most likely, I'd get rid of Sheree again at this point) and bring on 2 new women along with Porsha being brought back. But production needs to be fired.- As The World Turns Discussion Thread
I think her hopping out the window is where it went overboard. While CZ delivered and the scene is epic, it was too over the top. The vendetta she had against Rose, Emily, and Carly made perfect sense. I always felt that Babs saw three versions of herself in them. I think the plus side to it all was that it revitalized the importance of Barbara on the canvas. I just wish that Hogan would've been smart enough to utilize Kim and Lisa during that time as they were her two moral compasses. There should've been tons of material of them talking Barbara off the cliff. I've said too that ATWT missed out on the Lisa/Carly/Babs dynamic the last decade. They should've tossed the three into each other's orbit and had them form a fashion house, which consisted of a lot of comedic backstabbing and undermining one another while forming a sisterhood. I've always hated that Carly and Lisa's friendship was never repaired.- As The World Turns Discussion Thread
Regarding Margo/Babs being friends, what was more of my assessment given episodes I've seen prior to big lie. They did seem friendly with one another post James. And now that you bring up HR's Lily, Marland did try it again, and I found it refreshing again from what I've seen of HR's Lily. I've always grew tired of watching Lily pine after Holden. From what I've seen, I liked that at one point, HR's Lily was cold and taking no prisoners. It made sense for her (too) to make the shift. I do think that we (soap fans) have the tendency to hold characters in a box while fail to realize that these shows and its characters are supposed to be wrapped up in reality. We all aren't on our best behavior, so why expect the same of a character? But again, the shift has to make sense, which is what I felt (from what I've seen) with Barbara.- As The World Turns Discussion Thread
I don't think it was anyone here. It might've been when I was on SOC, but I know a forum I posted on (at one point) recalled the time and felt it was "out of character" for Barbara. As aforementioned, I think her dissent into evil made sense. If you keep losing in love, anyone would become jaded overtime. It was one of the few times I feel from watching soaps where you saw a heroine transition to antiheroine (I wouldn't call her a villain) and it made perfect sense. We'd only be so lucky if soaps nowadays could transition a character from one side of the spectrum to another.- As The World Turns Discussion Thread
This is for long-term ATWT fans who watched the shows in the 80s (I was born in the late 80s, so I only watched the show originally from the 90s onward with my grandma), why did so many fans hate the shift of Barbara around this time? I know a lot of longterm fans hated Barbara being made a bad girl. I feel like the shift in her attitude made sense. James gaslit and tried to kill her. Gunner left her to die. Brian broke up with her. She felt jilted by men. I think it made sense that she decided to wound the opposite sex after being wounded by them for so long. And busting up Tom/Margo made sense too as Tom was initial safe choice before she jilted him for James. It didn't probably help that the one that got away went on to find happiness with the woman that was James' mistress at one time. I get that folks felt that Babs was friends with Margo but it made sense. - Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
