They'd actually probably gain some longevity if they went back to hiring new blood and weening them for the next generation; however, that'll never happen at this point. Ron was technically the last one to benefit from that idea of thinking. Plus, it does not help nowadays when the networks and production companies are involved in the writer's room as well.

Well we can thank Jill Lorie Hurst for trying to center the show to what it was back in 93/94. It boggles my mind how she's never landed another head writing job (or writing job period on daytime) post Guiding Light. Maybe it's on her end, but that's always shocked me. She seemed to be one of the brighter head writers this generation.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I was just about to say that (re: him buying her another season). While Kristen should be livid, she should be glad at this point because now she'll have a story for next season of RHONY, and Bravo is going to exploit every second of it. If Josh was smart, he better move Heaven and Earth to do what he can to keep Kristen's mouth shut and get her off Bravo.

Yes he [Jonathan] did. But that's a big issue [allowing certain characters to drive the show too much] with soaps all across the board and has been since the 90s. It became Jonathan Light instead of Guiding Light. And Tammy dying was just another way to further dehumanize Alan. Wasn't bad enough that 2-3 years previous he had supposedly killed Phillip. Now he kills Tammy. It was like they were trying to make him into a megalomaniac villain, which he wasn't. Brittany Snow's Susan was fun in the beginning when he had spunk, but she did become flat upon her departure; however, I did still care for her somewhat because she was a core character to the Shayne and Cooper families. But she became expendable upon her arrival in the form of Bonnie Dennison and stayed that way till the end. I also found it gross to see her schmooze up to James given that James was named after her adoptive father. Didn't she also view Lizzie and James as her siblings? I never got the appeal of Tom Pelphrey. People used to make him out to be the second coming when was decent at best. His acting style reminds me much of Christian J. LeBlanc--the whole 'Look at me!! I'm acting!!!" style. Justin Deas [on Guiding Light] was another one who was known to do that too. Sometimes subtleness goes a long way. And Murray Bartlett didn't impress me until I saw him on an episode of HBO's Looking. He looked more relaxed on that show, but that could be b/c he was performing material that he was comfortable with--being a gay man.

I hated both of the Foley brothers. I wished that they had killed Cyrus too. I hated how Mel got shackled to him in the end, and he was instantly made Jenna's child to wash away all of his sins. And Susan was ruined when they brought her back de-aged and younger than Lizzie and Tammy. That just bothered me for continuity reasons. There were plenty of younger core female characters that they could've SORASed for Bonnie Dennison to play. Clarissa quickly comes to mind. I didn't care for Natalia and Rafe either. Never got why Otalia was considered great. They romance was boring as hell, and I never believed that Olivia, who was obsessed with penis majority of her run, had an 'a-ha' moment and realized she liked women. Same with Natalia. It was a cheap way to ride off the popularity that Luke and Noah were generating on World Turns to garner some publicity. The Kriezman/Swajeski era was horrible. Too bad that Jill [Lorie Hurst] wasn't given enough time to turn the show around, which she was getting to towards the end of the show's run. Guiding Light focused too much on the Coopers and Lewises. Not enough on the Bauers. And the Spauldings were becoming too slapstick and mustache-twirling. I prefer to forget about the last 4-5 years of the show starting at the height of 'Jammy.' I wanted the Guiding Light that I fell in love with back in '93 as a child. One which had a strong sense of community and family. One which had strong male and female characters. One which had ambitious and driven characters. A show that had romance, adventure, and intrigue but had emotional depth. It became painful to watch the show just become a hollow shell of itself. Especially during the Peapack era. Watch Harley's homely looking ass check her mail and open bills did it for me.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Now you know I didn't do the banner b/c if I had, Dawn AND Leanne would've been on both ends and Magali and Ampika, my two faves, would've been in the middle spots. But I am excited for their return. NYC is about to be off after this Thursday (SN: Part 2 reunion comes on Tuesday and Part 3 comes on this Thursday RHONY fans) and I won't have a housewives show to entertain me all of September b/c OC ain't cutting it. I need something to distract me until November gets here with the return of Beverly Hills & Atlanta. But Magali and Lauren have both hinted on Twitter that this season is filled with drama. I cannot wait. Compared to the American housewives, RHOCheshire's drama is more lighthearted and funny--like early US housewives.

Dare I say it but I hope Emma goes nutty and starts terrorizing the Dingles over the loss of Ross. While I feel like the body found is a red herring, I still want Emma to torture Debbie, who set this whole thing in motion by being a slut and boinking Ross.

LMAO at Carole comparing her to a desperate housewife. Im usually not a Carole fan but she was on fire. LuAnn was PRESSED about her and I loved it. That was a good line but let's be honest. Carole can't talk as her ass was pretty desperate this season too. Without Luann on her ass, Carole would've had nothing going for her. Luann has ensured her ass some relevancy for another season just like Aviva did for her last season. I was all for Luann last night. That heffa stays going for the jugular. She doesn't give a f-ck. So funny because I couldn't stand Luann in past seasons. This season she won me over.

Chilllleeeeeee........ RHONY reunion was a mess. Luann v. Carole was hilarious. "I'm glad you're concerned about family, Carole." - Luann That bitch is stone cold! And I so glad that Jabberjaw (aka Heather) is supposedly leaving the show. Tonight she tried getting in all her shots and soundbites but I am glad that no one gave a flying f-ck about her. I will not miss her constant butting into people's conversations to put her unwanted input in. She's thisclose to reaching Thotlandia, Phelony, Blandi, and Tamra levels of hatred for me.

Well damn. I didn't know that Cindy was going too but oh well. But I am not happy that Sharon is about to be another person to cover up for Bobby. I guess she'll join Jane and Ian as pariahs of the Square once the truth is revealed.

*sighs* I miss Sadie. IMO, she was the closest thing to a Kim Tate carbon copy minus her murderous side. I also miss the Kings era too. It was just so fabulous and plush with wealth and drama.

Two situations that seem to go round and round and never stops. Cynthia needs to put her foot down when it comes to Peter if she's supplying him money to open up these countless bars. And Vicki and Brooks will be back together come reunion time. They always find a way back to each other.

Married to Medicine
Last night just solidified how none of these women are likable. Jackie is OK but she can be aloof at time. Heavenly is OK too but she can be a pest at time. The other four women (Simone/Quad/Toya/Lisa) are just trash. I didn't feel sorry for Simone as she's an idiot. After three years of working with Quad (especially last season), she should've known that Quad is a selfish twat with a chip on her shoulder. She shouldn't've been upset over her ditching her event. How Quad reacted should've awakened Simone and made her see that Quad cares about no one but herself. Even dumb ass simp, Toya sees that. I can only take Toya in doses as she's still a materialistic dolt. She hasn't grown one bit since the inception of the show as her mind still stays on one thing--money. Quad and Lisa are both scam artists, hence why they clash. Lisa telling her daughter why they weren't invited to the event was tacky as f-ck. Some things need to go unsaid. Divulging adult info and situations to a little child was just too tacky on Lisa's part. And no one with any sense is going to buy Quad's gaudy ass dog rags. $350 for a damn dog dress?!!! Only new money idiots would invest in that mess. I used to find cute dog clothes at PetsMart when my dog was living and I'd only spend about $40 and she'd have an assortment of clothes.

I won't believe a drink was tossed until StraightfromtheA confirms it. She (and TamaraTattles sometimes) is spot on when it comes to RHOA tea b/c she's close friends with some of the women. But I am over these women assaulting each other on this show. It's getting old. Especially for Sheree. Didn't she pull this stunt in s2 with Kim and shifting her wig? You'd think she'd be over her antics by now and be using this platform to actually set herself up, so in case she gets the boot again, she has something to take away from it.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
RHONY: Those women came out guns blazing last night but I enjoyed it. There is just something magical about Ramona, Bethenny, Sonja, and Luann on this show. This season just felt like old times. If Andy was smart, he'd seriously try and get Jill back. Hell, even bring Kelly and reach out to Alex and bring them back in some capacity. Last night just felt like old times. When Luann shaded the f-ck out of Carole by bringing up that Carole had no kids.... I died thrice. Luann is stone cold. Bethenny and Ramona's exchange was hilarious but I love that whatever goes down between these two, they always forgive each other. Sonja clocking Kristen was funny too. Regardless if Sonja was wrong, Kristen does need t shut the f-ck up about her co-stars to the press. The press clearly takes words and twists them and with social media and fans coming into play too, it does not help the situation anymore. Interviews get lost in translation and people get upset. Kristen should've simply said, "No comment" or "Ask Sonja." Preview of the reunion:

They should just give Marlo a contract as well. Why make her a 'friend' when she's going to bring as much drama as many of the official cast mates?
