Very true. But given Cord's past and how Asa treated Maria, I could see Cord being sympathetic to race issues. And how cliche for Paul Rauch to bring on black characters in a rap story. From the looks of it, of course it didn't take off b/c it wasn't believable. How could the audience believe Kerry to be a rapper when he came from an upper-middle class background. Especially when rap was derived from the streets. Especially when gangsta rap was taking over. If Rauch was gonna sell it, he should've made Kerry lower class. (Sorry Carl for quoting you too--stupid quote boxes!) I have more of a soft spot for Rauch than I probably should, but yeah, he did this on GL too with the Brodreaux (sp?) family--not the rap part, but almost as if he sensed people thought his show was too white, so he would go, "HERE ARE SOME NEW BLACK PEOPLE!" before being let go. Both times. It looks like that, anyway. I hate how the Boudreau clan was treated at GL. It's like no one even tried to invest in them post putting Mel with Rick. Poor Remy didn't find footing till the last year of the show, and I am still livid that Mel that strapped to Jenna's bastard offspring (Cyrus) out of all people. I also used to get pissed at how people used to blame Mel being hitched to Rick as the reason Rick didn't get any stories. But those same people later became elated when Rick cheated on Mel with Beth, leaving poor Leah and Mel in the dust. I felt that Rick never paid for his sins but different show, different thread....

Oh wow. Those Sheila clips are WAY ahead of their time. Sucks that post this story, nothing really changed in daytime or Hollywood in general until now. At least in Hollywood and primetime. I'm conflicted because part of me is proud of Sheila's reaction but the other part of me is pissed b/c she didn't flip out and sock the casting director and Babs in the face. I'm glad that Tina and Cord stood up for Sheila and quit the play. Only thing that unnerved me was Tina bringing up that Cord is 'Mexican,' which is a peeve of my own. She had good intentions but I wanted to reach into the screen and shot at her that Mexican isn't a race. It's a nationality. Yes. Vanita Harbour. Rika was Sheila (the superb Valerie Pettiford)'s kid sister. She began dating Kerry, son of Troy (the guy with Sheila there). Troy was a top cop. But I think you could still get the same impact if child was Alan's. Ed would probably still see the child as his and take it in as surrogate as that's something Ed did a few times. Plus, there would've been Phillip added to the mix. Maybe I am being biased b/c I can't imagine the Bauers creating a toxic being. Lizzie and Jeana most likely will be brought back in lesser roles but seeing as Lizzie is extremely close to Gretchen and Jeana is close to Vicki, it could come down to footage and how much they provide to decide if they hold an orange or not. I just get this inkling feeling that s11 is going to be a clique v. clique situation a la RHOA s4 & s7. I think it'll be Shannon/Tamra/Heather/Meghan v. Vicki/Gretchen/Alexis/Lizzie. And I say Lizzie b/c out of her and Jeana, she isn't afraid to call Tamra on her BS and I don't believe the farce that they've made up. I think Lizzie chose to make up with Tamra to get her off her back for the time being. But with numbers and people she genuinely likes, I think Lizzie's true hatred for Tamra would arise yet again. I wouldn't mind them bringing back Peggy too b/c she's close to Gretchen and she hates Tamra now. I just see s11 being the downfall of Tamra and Shannon, the redemption of Vicki, and the return of past housewives with grudges against Tamra (Gretchen, Alexis, possibly Jeana or Lizzie).
