  1. I can't stand you!
  2. So true. We also see that ATWT departing from a model that worked with them caused them float like a ship w/o a rudder during the first half of the 80s until Marland came and centered the show again. Moving away soaps from their central themes has caused the death of almost every soap that has been cancelled.
  3. The mayor of Charlottesville has confirmed someone has died from the hit and run:
  4. That's why I don't get why they didn't continue to have Lisa be close to Casey and his peers like she originally was. I remember her having a relationship with Gwen and taking to Maddie at one point. They should've continued that the remaining years of the show. It would've been very interesting to see Lisa and even Kim be thorns in Casey's side when he got involved with Allison. Knowing their hatred for Susan and Emily, Kim and Lisa would've been the perfect interlopers to the pairing. I might've actually cared for them more had they been so.
  5. I'm pretty sure he and Ellen Wheeler where under instructions to dismantle both GL & ATWT. I'd even go a bit further and say he might've gotten those same instructions almost a decade earlier at AW. P&G sucks major a** b/c networks entertained the idea of wanting to buy the rights to many of their shows. There were whispers that NBC and even ABC was looking to get the rights to AW upon its demise. And didn't Les Moonves say that he would've been interested in owning GL & ATWT, but P&G opted not too? I'd love someone to buy the rights to these shows one day b/c I still believe someone could make a profit off of them if done correctly.
  6. ^ I've noticed that too (re: Bethenny/Tinsley). It's becoming a pattern. Bethenny obviously wants Carole all to herself. She didn't care for Carole's friendship with Heather in s7. She isolated Carole from Dorinda in s8. Bethenny stayed attacking Tinsley slyly throughout this season for crap that Bethenny had a past of doing (or being rumored of doing) too. Bethenny is threatened by women that are either younger and prettier, or equally successful than she is.
  7. Bethenny v. Ramona:
  8. Not surprised that Steven is being written out yet again. For one, anyone tied to Lauren never lasts. Tyler, Jake, Peter, Joey... The list is long. I've always said that Steven should've came back as opposition for Ben. I hate how he was wasted on goofy Lauren.
  9. RHONY reunion trailer has been released:
  10. That's why I said that they should've cast Stuart Damon as Don instead of making him some cliche Italian mobster related to dull a** Janet and Teri. I loathed the Ciccone clan. One of JP's stupid creations, which she modeled after herself.
  11. I am ALL for this. Tamra knew no bounds when she tried bringing Slade's baby momma and kid on the show, and was communicating with them. Gretchen is giving her a** a dose of her own medicine. I don't think we have. That's why I kept saying that bringing back Gretchen (and Lizzie) would've paid off better than Peggy and Lydia. Lydia could've returned to provide some syrupy balance, but Gretchen/Lizzie should've been in the lineup. This season's housewives should've been: Vicki, Kelly, Gretchen, Lizzie, Shannon, Tamra, Meghan (possibly), and Lydia. Back to their rivalry, I can't blame Gretchen though as TamRat used to do some foul sh-t to her that she never apologized for. Pushing her dusting husband on a poor, drunken Gretchen always springs to mind. Tamra was basically green lighting for her son to sexually assault her without her consent, which is gross.
  12. Again, we know Lyla was not gonna be brought back as Goutman said in so many words that he didn't give a hoot about old ATWT. Anything before him was to be ignored in his eyes. Would've been a great story, but we know that ATWT didn't do character driven stories under Goutman. One story I wish they would've done before the show's ending was bringing either Don or Grant back for Lisa. I still think that Stuart Damon should've been recast as Don and brought back as widower, who fell for Lisa again. You know what would've been a cute story--for Don to bring a dying Mary home to Oakdale, and Mary was to push him off on Lisa as her dying wish. That could've been a cute ending story of Lisa. I still get p*ssed that she didn't get her happy ending. I adore the pairing, but I refuse to relieve the final 4 years of the show. Hell f-cking no. I can't remember Nuke in my mind. I love myself too much to endure anything past '05.
  13. I thought Noelle and Jon had chemistry. However, I was over Lily/Holden at that point. Had the show continued on, I would've wanted them to just remain good friends and co-parent. Lily & Holden were dead in my eyes long before Martha left the role. I'd say about the time Lily was with Keith, I was over Lily/Holden. When they paired them back together for that last run, it was painful. I was eager when Holden got tossed in Carly's orbit, who I felt he has immense chemistry with. I feel like Katie/Chris was something that happened on the whim. I was already peeved that Daniel Cosgrove was cast as Bill Lewis, who was playing Chris Hughes. That annoyed me b/c I felt they should've brought back the most recent Chris, Dylan Bruce, who was eye candy and was never really given a chance. Putting Katie/Chris together made it worse. I felt that the show put them together to further center the show around Katie had it continued. I could never buy Katie as a Hughes. At least not married to Chris. Not after she lied on him years before about him stalking her, which got him in major trouble. Katie should've ended up single and ready to find herself while raising her son alone. That would've been a total shift from how her story ended. It would've been nice to see Katie not latched onto a man and gain some independence for once.
  14. Many of us said months ago that instead of making Hunt Block Craig that he should've been Babs' brother, Rick. It would've been so much more believable for him to get involved in the stuff he got in as it was common for him. Plus, Babs could've still been involved in those stories. To your other point, one couple I did not care about towards the end of the show was Janet/Dusty. I was happy b/c Janet was removed from CarJack's orbit, but the pairing was still horrid. How dare you?!!! Y'all are gonna leave my Luke and Noah alone! They are living happily ever after w/o Reid standing in their way. I adore you, but no. Y'all are gonna leave my Noah alone!!!
  15. RHOD taglines: Sneak peek of next week's first episode:
  16. So she thinks she isn't supposed to help assists in her child's education? Tamra is a monster.
  17. TamRat's daughter has put her on notice yet again... TamRat ain't gonna learn until Sidney spills all the tea about her.
  18. I feel like they were trying to model Hunter after GH's Spinelli, who was immensely popular by that point. That dorky, socially awkward character. It didn't work. I agree. Allison & Casey were bland to me. I get that they did it b/c he was a Hughes and she was a Stewart, which became taboo by that point. I doubt Passanante knew who Jeff & Annie were, but she could've easily by using SOC profiles or reading recaps like most of us do. We would've cared more if Evan Alex Cole was either Lowell or Gregory Ward. I just think that the story made Larry even more sleazy. It boggles my mind that writers in daytime fail to do research when I'd find it to be the most fun and exciting part of the job. So many little nuggets from the past that could've helped them devise better stories in the future. Instead, they'd rather ignore history and face scrutiny just so the job can be easier to them. When it come to TPTB, oh it was totally apparent that they didn't give a damn about history. Goutman would say it in so many words in his interviews that he didn't give a damn about ATWT's past. I've always felt that he just did the job b/c he needed a steady paycheck. It bothers me how this genre still employs people like that when there are a plethora of us fans that have devised better fan fiction that what they are generating.
  19. Thank you! I was trying to figure out who that was. I hated that they made Hunter an egg baby of Emily's. If they wanted to make him a Stewart, they could've easily made him one of Jeff & Annie's quads. I hate how soaps would rather create some child out of air instead of using characters already part of the canon. And I hated Hunter and Maddie. I didn't think that Maddie was exclusive to Casey, but I always preferred those 2 together.
  20. Oh OK. I remember seeing episodes being post of Curtis having a breakdown and Dinah Lee sneaking to see Trucker during that time. I think you and I have had a convo where I told you that I remember bits and pieces of the show from watching with my paternal grandmother, who I sparingly saw, and she enjoying ABC soaps. I grew up strictly CBS as that's what my maternal side of the family watched, and I picked up on AW on my own about later '94early/'95-ish. Sucks that they wrote Shana off as she seemed like the tragic heroine on the show from what clips I've seen of her. But then again, it was better than having her be a victim of Gwen's 2 years later as Gwen killed off all the Alden then. But in all seriousness, I really hope more Loving episodes pop up. They are typically clips that I rush to watch as the show was the only one of the AMC soaps that had that homey feel to it like the P&G soaps. Is that just me? Thank you for this detailed backstory! Much appreciated. God I hope more Loving clips pop up!
  21. Yes! Now I remember people talking about Curtis being held in a dog cage. Didn't this lead to Curtis have a psychotic break later on? So was Leo a Burnell? Was there something wrong with his and Shana's baby? Did Susan Keith leave on her own or did the show just write her out?
