  1. From what I read Claire will stab Michael later. I have the scripts until October 1st so I guess we will find out but it will take time for me to read and recap all of them 😅. And I haven’t finished The Secret Storm 1969 for those who followed this thread too. Good summer work for me 💪
  2. If you are interested, I've received a few months of scripts (summer 1968). I will try to recap and share with you. #3179 – Monday, July 1st 1968 Ellen read a letter Paul sent from Vietnam. He hoped he could phone the family on July 4th. Ellen asked David if that meant she should invite Dan if Paul called them. David thought it could be a first step in a truce process. They also talked about Claire. Ellen was worried about her mother since Dick Martin told her what a despicable man Michael Shea was. Ellen also noticed that David was glad to practise medicine again instead of research but he would have wanted to do it under better circomstances. The infection in Bob’s eyes was clearing up and they should know quite soon how it would evolve. They finally talked about Christine Regan, the baby nurse David insisted Ellen hired. While Christine was feeding baby Dawn with Carol Ann’s help, Dan arrived and introduced himself to Christine. He came to fetch a document David forgot. Dan and Christine talked about her past work in an orphanage. She wanted to return someday. Dan remembered he met Christine through his wife Susan as Christine wanted to be a nurse at a point. Meanwhile, Ellen was visiting Susan at Dan and Susan’s. She thanked Susan for suggesting Christine as a baby nurse because she was great. Ellen invited Susan to come with Dan on the 4th of July and she talked about Paul’s possible phone call. Susan said she would try to convince Dan. Ellen then visited her grandfather. Judge Lowell was worried that Claire had decided to see Michael again. She added she invited Dan for the 4th of July but wasn’t sure he would come. Dan arrived home. Susan told him about Ellen’s invitation but she had to mention Paul’s possible phone call to light an interest in Dan. Dan also talked about Bob’s eyesight. He had noticed Karen seemed fond of Bob. #3180 – Tuesday, July 2nd 1968 At the Hughes’, Bob worked on some braille. He told Pa Hughes he had to meet Lisa. Lisa arrived and Pa went to his shop. Lisa told Bob she asked to see him to talk about Tom. She thought they should see each other more often to ease Tom’s rebellious side as Tom had always wanted for his parents to remarry. Bob was not sure as it could mislead Tom and after all, he didn’t like many things Lisa did. In Dick’s office, Chris and Dick talked about Claire and the fact that despite her divorce she would probably see Michael again. Chris was shocked. He couldn’t understand Claire as she knew Michael was the father of Lisa’s baby. Chris hoped Claire would see Dick as someone good, other than a friend and Dick wished it was true. Dick even thought Claire could remarry Michael. After Chris left, Lisa arrived. She wanted to invite Dick for lunch but he was busy. She thanked him again for his work in pushing Michael to pay for Chuckie’s support. Lisa tried to question Dick about his relationship with Claire but he refused to talk about it. Lisa told Dick she met Claire at the hospital some time ago and she asked Claire to convince Michael to marry Lisa for Chuckie’s sake. Claire came back home from the boutique. Judge Lowell wanted to bring Claire to dinner but she said she was expecting a phone call from Michael. Judge Lowell was offended when Michael called and Claire agreed to have dinner with him. Michael and Claire met at a restaurant. Michael assured Claire of his love. Claire then asked Michael to do something to please her out of love – marry Lisa. Claire insisted Chuckie deserved legitimacy and assured Lisa promised she would grant Michael a divorce afterwards. Michael was sure Lisa would find a way to not divorce. #3181 – Wednesday, July 3rd 1968 Lisa and her mother were having breakfast. Lisa was outraged her mother was invited at the Hughes’ for the 4th and she was not. Alma said Nancy remembered too well what happened with Michael Shea. She tried to make Lisa realize it would take much time for people to accept her with her illegitimate child. Lisa assured Tom would expect her to be there. At the Hughes’, Nancy and Bob talked about Tom’s behavior the previous week when he defied Bob and ran to Lisa’s at night. Nancy said she talked with Alma and admitted that maybe Bob and Lisa should dine together sometimes to bring closness around Tom. Bob joked Lisa visited with the same idea. Nancy was sure Tom had never accepted his parents’ divorce but Bob said it was ages ago and it was time for him to move on. Tom thought of his mother of a saint because he had no idea of the past. Nancy suggested Lisa and Chuckie be invited for the 4th and Bob finally agreed. Tom woke up. Lisa called and told Tom Nancy forgot to invite her for the picnic of the 4th. Before Nancy could react, Lisa told on the phone she understood Nancy was busy and forgot but that she would be there with Chuckie. Later, Bob had joined David for work. They talked about their plans for 4th of July. Pa Hughes arrived to drive Bob home. Tom had plans to see Jimmy at Mrs. Wilson the afternoon. Bob admitted he wanted to spend time with Jimmy. He was sure it was what Roy wanted and what Sandy would want. Tom and Jimmy played at the Hughes’. Bob felt useless as he couldn’t play with Jimmy because of his blindness. Once Bob and the kids were outside, Nancy told Pa she quite understood why Penny acted this way with Jimmy. Tom brought Jimmy back to his grandparents, Carl and Martha Wilson. After Tom left, Carl worried Martha was exhausting herself taking care of Jimmy. She wished she knew where Sandy was. Martha felt a bit dizzy and Carl insisted she see a doctor. #3182 – Thursday, July 4th 1968 The Hughes commented on family issued ahead of July 4th celebration. Bob wondered if his sister Penny was over Jimmy but Nancy was not sure, she didn’t talk about it in her letters. Tom would go to fetch Jimmy as the Wilsons would only come later. Nancy told Chris that finally Lisa and Chuckie were coming too. Penny called. Nancy was happy. Penny asked to talk to Bob and they shared a few words about Jimmy. Lisa arrived early to help Nancy, saying Alma would arrive later with Chuckie. She feigned apologizing for inviting herself but Nancy told her she was about to invite her. Nancy added they had to act good for Tom who thought Chuckie was his adopter little brother. Lisa brought lemonade to Bob and Tom who were in the garden. Tom left to fetch Jimmy as Lisa told Bob she was glad they were on friendly terms. Bob was cold. In David’s study, Dan and David talked about the difference between medicine and research. David asked Dan if Susan was a bit more interested in babies as he saw her going to the nursery with Christine when she arrived. Dan didn’t think so. They joined Ellen, Judge Lowell and Claire in the living room. They were anxiously waiting for Paul’s phone call. Christine and Susan joined with Carol Ann and baby Dawn. As Judge Lowell and David were playing with the girls, the phone rang. The radio connection was bad but Paul could say a few words to David, Ellen, Dan. Paul assured he would write Ellen soon and everybody was moved. #3183 – Friday, July 5th 1968 At night, Chris noticed Nancy wasn’t sleeping. They talked about Bob going to Dr. Davis in the morning. Nancy was afraid there would be bad news and would like Chris to accompany Bob but Chris thought it was better to let Pa go with Bob as usuaL He tried to relax his wife. In their bedroom, Ellen and David were still under shock after Paul’s long-distance call. David said there were so many things he would have wanted to tell his son. Ellen said Dan was polite to her but she was sure it would never be anything more than that. David insisted he would bring Dan and Ellen closer. Ellen also talked about Christine. She felt like Christine didn’t like her work here and would like to go back to her orphanage work. David was sure Ellen said that because she didn’t want a nurse and care for the kids herself at first but David insisted it was a good thing. They changed subject again and turned to Bob’s health issue. Ellen asked David if he made his own diagnosis but David assured it was not his field of competence. Pa visited Bob’s room and they talked about the 4th of July. Bob said it was not a good thing to iie to Tom. He was afraid Tom was losing respect for things. Pa then asked Bob if he had an idea what Dr. David would tell him. Bob said he had but didn’t want to share. Pa asked if Bob would prefer David to go with him but Bob assured he enjoyed the closeness these last months brought between him and his grandfather so Pa would be glad to bring him to Dr. Davis’. The following afternoon, Lisa was with Nancy who was anxiously waiting for news of Bob’s appointment with Dr. Davis. Meanwhile, Bob left Dr. Davis’ office. Pa asked him what he said but Bob said he had to consult David with medical questions first and asked Pa to drive him to his office with no more information.
  3. Fascinating ! As always. I feel like Howie and Jane had the same storyline for years ….
  4. #4958 – Tuesday, September 29th 1970 Written by : Leonard Kantor with Doris Frankel Anabelle was frantic she couldn’t find Henri. He arrived and apologized for being late when he showed a cashier’s check. He was sure she world forget his morning walk with Ellie Harper. Anabelle was ready to start packing but Henri wanted to use this to bilk Andrea out of her fortune. By the time he would have Andrea’s money, he would have secured the reminder of Ellie’s investment and then they could disappear. He called Andrea for a lunch. At Andrea’s place, Len stopped by to see his mother. He told her he was worried about Patti, very depressed since her miscarriage. He added that Patti saw this miscarriage as a punishment for the affair she had years ago and the first miscarriage she went through. Andrea assured she could build herself only with professional help and it could be the same for Patti. Meanwhile, Patti visited her gynecologist, Dr. Halley. He would like her to stop taking energizers pills he prescribed but Patti was afraid she couldn’t manage without the pills. Dr. Halley insisted she stop the pills. When Len arrived, Patti was sure he was talking to Dr. Halley behind her back and was upset. Henri arrived at Andrea’s and offered her a piggy bank. She broke it and found an envelope with her loan repaired inside. Andrea said she would tell Doug Martin she was right about Henri all the time and Doug should release the capital Sam left for her and with his capital she would be able to invest in Henri’s boutique. Andrea suggested they open the boutique in Henderson to stay close to Len. Henri assured he wouldn’t mind. Henri charmed Andrea to convince her to call Doug. He kissed her and Andrea agreed to call Doug. #4959 – Wednesday, September 30th 1970 Written by : Leonard Kantor with Doris Frankel At the Vincente home, Agnes told Tony of Marcy’s birthday coming soon and they should organize a little party. Agnes offered to organize it all. Tony minded her interference but he agreed to the party. He would buy Marcy’s birthday gift himself though. Doug and Scott talked about Scott and Lauri having a child but Scott said Lauri didn’t want a child at the moment. Doug assured Scott he shouldn’t let the crime commission mess up with his married life. Scott talked about his work for the crime commission. Doug thought that if Scott spent enough time around people like Dick Hart, Scott would be trusted. Doug then received Andrea and told her that Eunice was pregnant. Eunice felt guilty about being pregnant because of Patti’s recent miscarriage. Andrea then showed the money Henri returned to her and gave it to Doug. She made Doug notice that Andrea judged Henri well unlike Doug. Doug wondered if this was a lure to get him to release the capital Sam left her. He said she was too anxious to get the money, it was weird. Doug asked for a few days to think the matter over. Paul Jaeckel visited the Vincentes’. Only Agnes was home and Paul remembered some old days when Marcy and his sister were having fun together. Agnes talked about the party she was planning and maybe they could organize it at Paul’s mother’s. Paul was happy to help Marcy. Agnes assured Tony was happy to have Paul as a psychologist at the Rec House. Paul told her the story of a young man who broke into a liquor store and shot the owner when he woke up. The young man called Rec House thinking he had killed the man but the owner was only slightly wounded and Paul had to appear at his hearing. He added that Mrs. Tate’s help at the Rec House was very useful. At the Rec house, Al was giving an exercice class in which both Scott and Claire were participating. Jo brought Claire « Wurthering Heights » for her to read. Scott told Claire that her brother, Dick, made him think of Heathcliff, the protagonist of the book – dark, brooding and independent. #4970 – Thursday, October 15th 1970 Written by : Leonard Kantor with Doris Frankel Len visited Andrea. He talked about Patti sounding better since she was at Silver Lake. Andrea was in a bad mood as she was nearly taken by Henri. She said the whole business was over and he was back in Paris. She was furious when Doug told her about Ellie giving Henri money to start a boutique with her. Andrea wondered if she would stay in Henderson and try to get closer to Patti. Stu was surprised when Ellie told her she would have dinner with Andrea as they were both conned by the same man. Stu wished he could have helped Ellie. Ellie said she was foolish and the only one to blame. Ellie excused herself after Jo arrived. Stu briefed Jo about the Henri Cartier scam and how he had fled for Paris with Anabelle, his fellow con artist. Jo had come to ask Stu a favor. She would like him to donate some spare motor parts for the Rec House. Dick Hart was a bright young mechanic who taught young people about motors at the Rec House and he would need them. Stu said he would visit the Rec House and talk to Dick. At Andrea’s, Andrea and Ellie were sipping champagne. Doug arrived. Andrea said she was angry at him at first for telling her about Henri but then she was only angry at herself. Ellie suggested Andrea they should open their boutique in Henderson without Henri. Andrea was intrigued and agreed to think about it as long as they didn’t talk about Henri anymore. After lunch, Scott told Lauri he was upset that Dick could connect him with the raid on the coffee house. Scott said that Dick helped him get facts for the crime commission. If he soured on him, he could close a lot of doors. Scott asked Lauri out for a drink but wanted them to see Dick on the way which upset Lauri. She refused to go out and would wait him at home. When Scott left, Lauri wrote a letter to her mother. She wrote about Scott’s involvement with the crime commission. She phoned Murph – calling herself Sally – and offered him to have a drink at the London pub. #4983 – Tuesday, November 3th 1970 Written by : Lou Scofield with Doris Frankel At college, Lauri asked fellow worker Maggie to cover for her as she had to leave early. Maggie asked Lauri why she asked her to set up a date between Lauri and Dr. Murphy if she wanted to give him the old razzle-dazzle and a big wash-out. Lauri said she was wrong to follow Murph to his apartment but she was naive and when he made his intentions cleared, she left and he called her every name under the sun. Lauri assured she would not try to spice up her evenings again. She would focus her efforts on making Scott the man she wanted him to be. Eunice was on the phone with Jo. She said she wished she could help Patti but with her own pregnancy, she knew it was hard for Patti. After she hung up, she told Doug about the trouble Len and Patti were having. At Scott and Lauri’s, Scott was worried they would be late for dinner at Doug and Eunice’s. She arranged for Eric to spend the night at Ida’s and hoped she and Scott made the best of the night once they were back from dinner. Scott and Lauri arrived at Doug and Eunice’s and they toasted to Eunice’s future baby. Eunice said she nearly invited Patti and Len as she was sure they would get along with Scott and Lauri but it could have been tactless. She suggested Scott and Lauri get acquainted with the young doctor who helped Jo while convalescing, Murph. Lauri felt uncomfortable. Scott and Doug talked about the crime commission : they gave the politics the information they wanted on drugs in Henderson, it was up to the Governor to act. Scott was upset – he couldn’t wait for kids like Ernie Brady to die from overdoses. Meanwhile, Lauri questioned Eunice about her past. Eunice told her she was from Henderson but moved back after a first marriage and divorce in Puerto Rico. Lauri was surprised to learn Eunice’s background and kind of mirrored herself in her social ascension. Back home, Lauri told Scott how much she enjoyed talking with Eunice. Scott was still upset there was no follow up on the crime commision but Lauri tried to change his mind by kissing and cuddling. She expected they would climb up the social ladder at some point. #4985 – Thursday, November 5th 1970 Written by : Lou Scofield with Doris Frankel Tony was ready to leave for the Rec House. Marcy told him she would like to see the place at some point. Tony was sure she would hate the place. Marcy admitted she wanted Tony to spend more time with her. She felt lonely and she couldn’t criticize Tony for his patience since she was in a wheel-chair but she couldn’t feel love anymore. Tony assured Marcy he would bring her to the Rec House some day and he left. At the Rec House, Scott approached Claire who was alone and reading some Mark Twain. Scott looked for Dick but Claire said he was home with a chick. Claire asked Scott a lift to her apartment. Elswhere in the Rec House, Jo was working when Tony arrived. He told Jo about Marcy’s vow to visit and his disapproval. Jo thought Marcy could make her own decision. Tony answered Jo couldn’t understand. At the Vincente’s, Marcy and Agnes were playing cards. Marcy complained about Tony’s absence. Agnes comforted Marcy’s fears and said Tony wouldn’t want to bring her to the Rec House to avoid her meeting Joanne Tate. Agnes viciously offered to bring Marcy at the Rec House and surprise Tony. Scott and Claire arrived at Dick’s. Dick teased Claire about her reading. Scott told Dick that even if his job with the Crime commission was officially over, he felt there were big suppliers in Henderson and wondered if Dick could have some lead for Scott to investigate. Dick said that if Scott wanted to keep on living, he should keep his nose out of this business. At the Rec House, Al welcomed Marcy who introduced herself as Tony’s wife. Privately, Al and John talked about Marcy and they were surprised Tony never talked about his wheel-chaired wife. In Tony’s office, Marcy complimented Tony and Jo on their work. As everybody was about to leave, Marcy insisted Jo come to the Vincente’s for coffee. #4990 – Thursday, November 12th 1970 Written by : Lou Scofield with Doris Frankel At night at the Rec House, Tony told Jo he had managed to find her some more place. Jo was ready to go home but Tony waited for Paul Jaeckel who was doing the night shift with John. Jo thought about stopping by at Len and Patti’s as things seemed very bad between both of them. She apologized to Tony about how she criticized him for the way he acted with Marcy and she left. Patti realized Len took the pills and hid them. Len assured he wouldn’t give them back as these drugs were illegal and Patti was half-killing herself. Patti begged for one pill to sleep. Furious, Len left with the pills. Patti cried and moved to a closet and took out a suitcase. Paul arrived at the Rec House and advised Tony to get home because Marcy would appreciate. Tony answered she was used to his absence. Tony asked Paul a favor since he knew Marcy for a long time – convince her he didn’t have a thing for Joanne Tate. He was sure Agnes kept on talking about this and drove Marcy jealous. Paul wondered if there was some truth in the idea as Tony spend way more time with Jo than with Marcy. Tony was furious. How could he imagine something like this. Was he suggesting he asked Jo not to come anymore at the Rec House. He dismissed Paul and said he was no better than Agnes or his wife. After calling a cab, Patti started writing a letter to Len. She wrote that she had to go away because she realized she was not the Patti he loved. She could never give him children. She put the letter on the center of the table and left. Later, Len came back out of guilt and found the letter. He realized Patti had left. Overwhelmed, he called Jo who hadn’t seen Patti. While they talked, Patti arrived at her mother’s and asked if it was okay for her to stay for a while.
  5. Thanks for the info ! I had never heard about the Henri Cartier plot conning both Ellie and Andrea. Very interesting to learn about.
  6. No idea but that sounds legit... Couldn't find anything from 1968-1969 for the moment. Maybe some day
  7. Here are a few episodes from February to July 1970. I included the previous ones I posted some time ago to give you some reading continuity. I have 6 more episodes from September - November 1970 to deal with. #4792 – Friday, February 6th 1970 Written by : Robert Newman, David Lesan & Doris Frankel Len arrived at Bob Rogers’ office while he was dictating to Grace. She left and Len and Bob talked about discharging some patient. Dr. Myer from Riverview called. He wanted to update Len on Andrea’s situation. She was fighting the pneumonia but she was still very confused. Dr. Myer added she only responded to Len’s visits. Reluctantly, Len assured he would visit her again. At his office, Doug was on the phone with Jo. He thanked her for letting him use her car while his was being checked up. Scott arrived. Doug told Scott that his grandmother Ida had the impression he was fed up with family interference. Scott said he never wanted to hurt Ida or Ellie. He was just under a lot of stress with what Lauri did. Doug was happy to have found Doug was happy to have a son with Scott and hoped their relationship would go smooth. Scott assured he was thinking of dating someone else. He called Marcia Sanders. After Len left, Grace came back. Dr. Rogers told her that Sam Reynolds apparently didn’t receive his mail after he asked about the availability of some lab technicians. Grace agreed to manage the mail even if she was ready to go. She was about to have a date with Bill Frazier but Bob assured he would tell Bell she would be late. Jo arrived. She was waiting for Patti and Bob would drive them both home. They talked about how brave Len was to visit Andrea after all she did and about the cable he received from Sam. Bill arrived and introduced himself to Bob and Jo. He told Jo he might think about moving to Henderson once he was back from Vietnam. At Riverview, Dr. Myer told Len about the progressed Andrea was doing. She remembered her name, some places. Len told Dr. Myer that Andrea wanted to forget her past but once she realized who she was and what she did, it could destroy her. Andrea arrived. She seemed to remember about Len being interested in Patti and Sam but very unclearly. Len said Sam was in Africa at the moment. Tired, Andrea went to bed and Len worried about how her condition would change. #4797 – Friday, February 13th 1970 Written by : Robert Newman, David Lesan & Doris Frankel At the Bergmans’, Marge told Junior she couldn’t spend the evening with him as Jo was coming with Patti and Len, who were newlyweds for the evening. When Stu came home, Marge told him she was worried about Junior. Stu questioned his son who wondered where he came from. They realized some kids at school teased him. Marge gave him a hug. After dinner, Marge told Len, Patti and Jo that they had fun with Junior who wanted to know where he was from geographically and Stu and Marge first thought he was thinking about how babies were coming. They had a good laugh. Len turned the conversation to pollution and how mankind could disappear in a few years. Jo called Sam in Africa from the Bergmans’. When Len took the phone, he told Sam that Andrea was doing much better. She had forgotten the past but she knew Len was her son. Jo hoped she would soon marry Sam and be as happy as Len and Patti were. At the pizza place, Lauri told Scott it was probably interesting for him to work with his father. Lauri was okay with her job at the admission office because the pay was good. Lauri assured she hadn’t dated since she and Scott stopped seeing each other. While Lauri was about to leave because of the babysitter with Eric, Bill and Grace arrived. Bill and Scott talked a bit about Vietnam before Scott left. Bill asked Grace if she had thought about his proposal. She was evasive and thought they had changed a lot since the time they used to be together. Bill was ready to wait. Meanwhile, Scott brought Lauri back at her place. He kissed her before she entered her apartment. #4802 – Friday, February 20th 1970 Written by : Robert Newman, David Lesan & Doris Frankel Scott and Lauri arrived at the Justice of Peace to get married. Fran and Emmaline, two women working there, helped Lauri with her dress and bouquet, and served as witnesses for the wedding. The Judge of Peace performed the ceremony and pronounced them Mr. And Mrs. Scott Phillips. He advised them to spend time at a motel down the road. They could say they had been sent by him. At the motel, Scott and Lauri were uneasy to learn the motel room was $30 for the night but when the cleark learned they had been sent by Judge Freddie, he offered them the bridal suite for the same price. At the Harper house, both Ellie and Ida were awake at night. Ellie wondered why Scott hadn’t come home yet. They thought he might be dating some new girl since he broke up with Lauri or they were afraid he could have had an accident. In their suite, Scott and Lauri were offered champaign and Scott noticed they had one thing like in Doug and Eunice’s wedding. Scott wondered at a moment if they made the right decision but Lauri assured him they did. #4807 – Friday, February 27th 1970 Written by : Robert Newman, David Lesan & Doris Frankel Scott, Lauri and Eric were staying at Mrs. Leshinsky’s, Lauri’s mother. Eric had a bad dream and wanted his mommy. Mrs. Leshinsky calmed him down. Scott assured Eric he would stay with his mother and him from then. Scott assured his mother-in-law he used to give Lauri a bad time but was ready to change that. Lauri woke up and didn’t like her mother’s involvement too much. The following morning, the bathroom schedule was an issue at Mrs. Leshinksy’s. Lauri was very stressed about the schedule and Scott had an exam. Lauri was afraid Scott would be worried about his new life but he kissed her and assured her it was all okay. At her place, Grace received a phone call from Bill. He asked if Grace reconsidered his marriage proposal but she said she wished she could. As she hung up, Harriet – who thought Grace and Bill had tied the knot - appeared and thought Grace should tell people she was married to Bill even if Bill had just left town. Grace visited Dr. Rogers and told him she married Lt. Bill Frazier a few days ago. Bob was really happy for Grace. She added Bill had to leave for Vietnam. Later, at the Nurses’ station, Bob told Patti and Len that Grace married to her old flame who came back in her life. Back at her place, Grace wondered if she would be able to keep up the charade about her being married. She hesitated to join Bill in San Francisco before he left for Vietnam and marry him for real but she knew she didn’t love him and couldn’t do that to him. She felt very miserable. #4893 – Tuesday, June 30th 1970 Written by : Leonard Kantor with Doris Frankel At their apartment, Len told Patti that Sam was missing and presumed dead. Only his wallet and some keys were found. Len added Jo hadn’t been told yet – Bob Rogers wanted to do it himself. Patti burst into tears in Len’s arms. Stu left his office and was surprised Ellie was doing extra hours for free. Once Stu left, Dr. Rogers called but Ellie told him Stu had just come home as Marge was expecting him for dinner. Then, Ellie noticed Henri Cartier was there, bringing back the car he borrowed. Henri was flirting with Ellie, who seemed happy with the situation. They talked about how beautiful Europe was and Ellie dreamed of visiting someday. Henri said he couldn’t pay tonight because of his bank account trouble. Ellie hesitated as it was customary to pay when the car was returned but she gave him a delay and he left. At Doug and Eunice’s, Eunice had received a dress she bought for Jo’s wedding. Doug told her there would not be any wedding. In Jo’s room, she was doing a crossword puzzle with Murph. They talked about the fact Patti might never be able to have children of her own. Bob then summoned Murph. He asked her if he thought Jo was strong enough to hear her fiancé was presumed dead. Murph said Dr. Vicente left the case so he probably thought she was good enough but poor Jo – the accident, the surgery, her eyes and Sam ! Bob quoted his new secretary – Harriet – maybe it was the beginning of a new cycle. Henri was back in Anabelle’s room. Henri admitted Andrea was ready to invest and the two con artists thought that was very promising. #4896 – Friday, July 3rd 1970 Written by : Leonard Kantor with Doris Frankel Patti visited her mother in her room. Jo tried to accept that Sam was dead. She said Sam would have wanted them to keep on with their lives. In their motel room, Henri and Anabelle were talking about how much they needed money. Henri tried to learn where Anabelle found some money but she didn’t give the name of the people who lent her some cash. Anabelle noticed he sounded jealous and they talked about their previous scams and Henri called Andrea in Riverview. She said she was doing better – she was declared mentally sane. She could come and go as she pleased. Henri offered to pick her up for a drive and dinner. Andrea then phoned Len to tell him that she was declared sane. She was not released yet but could be free to move. Len had to tell her that Sam was presumed dead. He said there was a Memorial service at the hospital this afternoon. Andrea called Henri to cancel their plans as she wanted to attend Sam’s memorial service. After he hung up, Henri told Anabelle he was happy that Andrea was a legal widow. Ida reunited Ellie, Scott and Lauri. She said she had arranged for Ellie and Scott to start receiving some of their income and not wait until she passed. Scott asked if Lauri talked about their financial troubles and pushed Ida to make this decision but Ellie assured Ida was thinking about it for a while. Scott apologized and thanked Ida. In the hospital chapel, Murph was seated with hospital staff. Eunice, Doug, Marge, Stu and Bob Rogers talked to the minister when Jo entered with Patti and Len. Andrea slipped in at the rear and stood alone. After the minister’s introduction, Bob Rogers made a moving tribute to Sam in front of his family and friends. #4902 – Monday, July 13th 1970 Written by : Leonard Kantor with Doris Frankel In the morning, Bob was going through Sam’s items that were returned. Harriet entered and told she heard from her cousin Grace in San Francisco. She was very happy with Bill. Harriet admitted she felt lonely since Grace left. Jo had a walk with Murph at the hospital then Patti arrived to see her mother. Patti told Jo that Len was thinking about being sterilized. Patti was sure she was being punished for the miscarriage she had years ago. She hoped there was still a little chance but Len wanted to protect Patti’s health. Andrea and Len had lunch at Ernesto’s. Andrea had come earlier as Dr. Myer loaned her a car. She enjoyed her new freedom while staying at Riverview. Len said he talked with Doug Martin and that Sam had made arrangements for Andrea’s allowance to continue but Sam had hoped to be there to judge if Andrea was really legally responsible so Doug would be Sam’s proxy and would be the one to decide. Andrea told Len about how much she enjoyed seeing Henri Cartier and she might consider business with him. Henri arrived and Andrea introduced him to Len. In her room, Jo received a phone call from Dr. Tony Vincente. In his caustic manners, he told her she was well. After he hung up, Dr. Vincente said his wife Marcy he didn’t have much time to spend with her. He just came for lunch to see her. After he left, Marcy’s companion, Agnes told her she was acting a fool around Tony. She didn’t have anything in common with Tony since she got polio and was confined in a wheelchair. Agnes tried to convince Marcy she should leave Tony and Marcy got angry at the suggestion. In the hospital corridor, Andrea and Henri bumped into Jo. Andrea introduced them to each other. Andrea had come to the hospital to talk to Jo privately. She said she knew Jo couldn’t forget the past but she begged her to accept the new Andrea. #4904 – Wednesday, July 15th 1970 Written by : Leonard Kantor with Doris Frankel Jo managed to reach Bob’s office all by herself. Harriet was impressed. They talked about Grace’s new life in San Francisco. It was better than if she had stayed in Henderson. Bob arrived and said Jo he was ready to discharge her anytime soon but Jo wanted to go back at work at the library. Bob refused and Jo said he sounded like Dr. Vicente. Bob assured Tony had a softer side. Jo assured she tried to tell his she was thankful but he didn’t listen. Marge dropped by at Stu’s office while he was working with Ellie. She showed them the new pants she had bought. Marge wanted to invite Ellie to dinner and introduce her to some attractive widowers. Ellie agreed for a Thursday night dinner. Scott and Lauri were eating an hamburger together. Scott wanted to use some of Ida’s money to pay a plane ticket for Mrs. Leshinsky to return to Vienna and see her brother as she had hoped for years. Scott wanted he and Lauri to accompany her. Lauri said she hadn’t given her notice at her job yet as Scott thought she had. Scott insisted and was sure Ida would be happy to take care for Eric during their trip. Lauri admitted she was upset at the idea of her mother leaving. When Scott talked about having a child of their own, Lauri was even more upset. He thought of Eric as his own and she didn’t want another child at the moment. Back at Riverview, Andrea told Dr. Myer about her day out with Henri and how they met Joanne at the hospital.
  8. Script from June 30th is from Kantor with Doris Frankel so he was HW at this point. Earlier in the year, scripts from February are from Robert Newman, David Lesan & Doris Frankel. Don't know at which point Kantor became HW (between March and June). Script from Oct. 15th is still from Kantor with Frankel. Script from Nov. 3rd is from Lou Scofield with Doris Frankel so Scofield probably took over in late October.
  9. I will have more precised info I think from the few scripts from 1970 I received. Will work on them today.
  10. Thanks. I received a few scripts from 1970 with Kantor and Scofield as HW so I was wondering if you had more precised dates. Will work on the scripts and post summaries.
  11. Of course Hollister ! This is Alex Lockwood. Sorry for the mistake. I think the idea was to try to shake Valerie’s moral ground but don’t think they ever wanted a real Nick / Valerie thing.
  12. Glad you enjoy ! I will try to post more. There are many scripts archived in US library. It needs some time (and money for some) to dig them in.
  13. I am trying to dig more scripts from the late 60s' - early 70s' era for Search For Tomorrow. The HW list is not very accurate. @Paul Raven do you have some info ?
  14. Thanks ! I will try dig in some scripts from this era for "LOL" but I haven't found any yet. Thanks ! I will try dig in some scripts from this era for "LOL" but I haven't found any yet.
  15. So who wrote between Pickard/Provo and Soderberg? I can't remember. And does someone know when Soderberg left? He was still there in May 1967 from what I found in old news papers.
  16. Your hard work is so appreciated ! It’s great how we can find information about the 60s/70s era for many soaps nowadays !
  17. Thanks for the comment ! I think Lou Scofield took over in November 1968 and John Hess remained on the show as co-HW or breakdown. In his archives, he has breakdowns for late 68-69. Before the first episodes of 1968 I had, there was a note, probably from Scofield, asking some scripts to be redone mainly to eliminate Charlie Clemens from the canvas. This is clearly a transition moment. Scofield eliminated Charlie, Jerry, Archie and brought in Eleanor and the country club set: Alex and the Lockwoods (Wilfred, Nola, Laurie). I think Karen got axed too. Don't have much more information on her.
  18. "Faint" I don't know but I would be overwhelmed if I could meet Don Hastings, Eileen Fulton, Suzanne Rogers, Susan Seaforth Hayes, Bill Hayes, Susan Lucci, Erika Slezak... the few legends still left with us.
  19. #3876 – Monday, December 23th 1968 The next morning, Karen called Valerie to tell her that Charlie had left town and he wanted her to know and requested the tape be handed over to Karen for destruction. Val assured it would be done. Belle laughed at Karen still doing what Charlie wanted. Karen said she would look for a job and an apartment. Belle said she could take her time because Belle could be the one who would move. Karen realized Belle was hoping her relationship with Paul would become more official and Karen was utterly shocked. Ken visited Val and thanked her for her help when he announced he was taking the job of assistant bartender at the Country Club. Amy arrived to put some Christmas gifts under the tree. Ken told her he was happy with Jill’s job as Paul’s secretary. After Ken left, Valerie noticed Amy seemed frail. She should see a doctor but Amy assured she would be fine once Paul asked Belle to leave Woodbridge. Sam told Eleanor about Ken’s new job. She was shocked a man with his background could accept this job. She talked about Sam’s old friend, Wilfred Hollister, who was a member of club’s board of directors. Maybe Sam could talk to Wilfred about cancelling the job offer. #3877 – Tuesday, December 24th 1968 While Paul was finalizing the Christmas tree, Nick visited. He wanted to know if Amy felt better. Paul was shocked to learn Amy fainted and rested in Nick’s room as she hadn’t told him. Paul invited Nick to join the Ames at Grace’s for Christmas but Nick said he was having Christmas with his father out of town. Amy visited Susan and Frank. Petey was impatient for Christmas. Amy said Susan the only Christmas gift she was expecting was Belle being out of town. When Susan noticed Amy was still feeling exhaustion, she said her sister she might be pregnant. Amy was sure she was not – was she ? Frank, Susan and Petey shared a close moment under the Christmas tree. Joan visited Nick at the motel. She insisted again he pay for Archie’s bail because her mother was very sad about the situation and it was Christmas. She even offered Nick a deal – she could give him the divorce he craved for if he paid for Archie’s bail. When Amy came back home, Paul asked her why she didn’t tell him about her fainting. She assured it was nothing and didn’t want to worry him. #3878 – Wednesday, December 25th 1968 Sam called Valerie to wish her a merry Christmas. Ken told his dad Alex Lockwood asked him to tend the bar but he assured he wouldn’t be long. Sam wondered if Ken accepted his job just to prove he didn’t want to be a businessman. Jill was upset her husband left on Christmas Day. Jill asked Sam if she was snob to wish her husband had another job. Sam answered he was snob too then. Susan, Frank, Petey, Jerry and Valerie arrived at Grace’s. The house was full of holiday cheering. Jerry told Susan he called his wife Hope in Paris. He missed her and might accept Frank’s offer to be a roving publisher and move back to Europe. Susan also told Jerry that Amy might be pregnant. At the country club, Alex Lockwood entertained lush and lovely Nola Hollister whose husband deserted for billard. She met Ken and told him that her husband, Wilfred, was an old friend of Judge Stevens. She was surprised the judge’s son was a bartender but she talked a bit with him. She was already a bit drunk. Grace wished everybody a Merry Christmas. She was worried for Amy and this awful Belle Clemens but was relieved that Charlie left town and that Sam Stevens was back in their lives. #3879 – Thursday, December 26th 1968 On the day after Christmas, Sam went to his chamber and was surprised Eleanor was at work while he gave her a few days off. She liked keeping it busy and she told Sam that Archie Borman was released by the D.A. because of insufficient evidence. Sam called Valerie and suggested she would drop in when she was available. A jealous Eleanor listened to the conversation. Archie arrived at Joan’s. He explained he was freed but was broke. Stan arrived – he had learned Archie was out of jail. Stan told Archie that Joan had agreed to divorce Nick for money. Archie would love to grab some of this money and Stan asked his buddy to let him maneuver. After Val and Sam had left his chamber for luncheon, Archie arrived. He said Eleanor he wanted to offer his service to Judge Stevens. He could give him information about some cases and in exchange charges against him would be dropped. Eleanor ordered him out. At lunch, Sam and Valerie talked about how worried they were for Amy or Ken. They were close. Stan stayed with Joan when Archie had left. He told Joan that Archie loved his sister and that Charlie’s departure was a good thing for her. She was young, bright and beautiful and could do better that this old fool. Joan enjoyed the flirting. Archie arrived, disappointed Eleanor didn’t let it go to the judge. Stan was sure he, Archie and Joan could team up with a plan for money – some divorce settlement money. #3880 – Friday, December 27th 1968 Amy finally called the doctor but she couldn’t have an appointment before New Year’s Eve. Paul was glad she was having a check-up. He left for college – even thought it was closed – to work alone and at calm. At the Stevens’, Ken was ready to go to the Country Club. He talked to Jill about the Hollister family as he met Nola the other day. The father, Wilfred, was an old friend of Sam’s, a 60yo humorless man and Nola, his wife, was only 40ish and seductive. They also had a teenaged daughter. Ken was confident he would be able to pay his debts in New York soon. In his office, Paul didn’t work but met Belle. She asked Paul how Amy reacted when he told her Belle hadn’t left. Paul admitted he didn’t say a word yet. Paul was confused and took Belle in his arms. Jill visited Amy. They talked about Ken’s job which annoyed Jill and Amy’s symptoms. Jill suggested pregnancy as Susan did and Amy was upset. Paul came back after Jill left. He told Amy he didn’t want to stop seeing Belle. Amy was heartbroken and cried. #3881 – Monday, December 30th 1968 The following morning at the Stevens’, Jill was annoyed she didn’t spend time with Ken. Ken told her he was working on New Year’s Eve but she should come to the country club. Sam thought it was a good idea. He would invite Valerie and maybe the Brittons and the Carvers. Ken asked Jill if she was not happy to come to the country club because she was ashamed of his job. She said she wasn’t – she was only afraid not to see him a lot. Was she honest ? Amy visited Valerie and told her about the previous evening. She felt very sad. Amy went upstairs when Sam arrived. Valerie explained the situation to Sam. Valerie accepted the New Year invitation but made it clear he shouldn’t count on Paul and Amy. After Sam left, Valerie told Amy about the invitation. Amy answere Susan and Frank asked she and Paul over already but didn’t know if they would go since her husband preferred spending time with another woman. At his chamber, Sam asked Eleanor about her New Year’s Eve plans which were inexistent. She hoped he would invide her but once Sam said he was asking Valerie out, Eleanor was disappointed and angry. Jill visited Sam’s chamber but Sam had left. She talked with Eleanor about the New Year’s plan. Jill noticed Eleanor didn’t like Valerie but couldn’t understand the reasons. #3882 – Tuesday, December 31st 1968 Susan and Frank were disappointed their New Year Party was falling flat. Valerie was with the Stevens family, Jerry was on his way back to Paris and Amy called she was sick. Only Paul would join. At the country club, Wally and Ken prepared for the fullest night of the year. Nola Hollister joined the bar. She and her husband were playing bridge in a room. Their daughter, Laurie, stayed at home. Nola hoped Ken would meet her someday. Just when Ken hoped he could have some time alone to dance with Jill, Nola introduced her husband Wilfred to Ken. Mr. Hollister was surprised his old friend Sam’s son could be bartending. Ken went on dancing with Jill. The party was no fun at the Carver with only Paul attending. When Frank joked he would kiss Susan first at midnight, Paul thought he was alluding to his relationship with Belle. Paul left early. He arrived at the Clemens’ shortly before midnight. They spent the New Year Eve in each other’s arms. #3883 – Wednesday, January 1st 1969 (pre-empted : New Year) #3884 – Thursday, January 2nd 1969 Amy admitted Frank home. He wanted to see Paul but he had gone to college. In his office, Paul asked Jill to have the day off. They talked about New Year’s Eve and Jill didn’t have a blast at the country club. Frank told Amy he came to apologize to Paul after New Year’s Eve incident but Amy was unaware. After Frank explained, Amy realized Paul didn’t stay long at the Carvers’. Jill dropped by after Frank left. Amy said she was shaken because Paul left the Carvers before midnight but only came home at 2.30 am. Paul arrived. Amy said Frank came to apologize. Paul didn’t answer and went upstairs. Back at the Carvers’, Frank told Susan Amy’s reaction was strange. Susan thought she could understand why. After Jill left, an angry Amy confronted Paul. Was he with Belle at midnight ? Paul didn’t even try to deny. He was with Belle and couldn’t stay away from her. #3884 – Friday, January 3rd 1969 In Paul’s office, there was some tension between Paul and Jill. Paul was sure Amy talked to Jill about New Year. Jill didn’t want to talk but wondered why Paul was upsetting Amy before her appointment with the doctor. Belle called at the office. Jill gave Paul the phone with no expression. Belle wanted to lunch with Paul but he had too much work. Belle then came to the office. She didn’t want to wait to talk to Paul so Paul sent Jill on a break. Aware of Amy’s upcoming apointment, Susan dropped by at Amy’s and suggested they have breakfast together. During breakfast, Amy revealed that Paul admitted he couldn’t stay away from Belle. Amy went to Dr. Hadley’s and explained her symptoms to him. After the examination, Dr. Hadley had Susan summoned. He told Amy and Susan that Amy was pregnant. Paul told Belle he didn’t have time to call her since New Year. He had told Amy he couldn’t stay away from Belle. Belle asked if that meant he would leave Amy. After a long silence, Paul said it would. He would tell Amy he wanted a divorce.
  20. #3861 – Monday, December 2nd 1968 Charlie called Joan. Something had happened they needed to discuss. When Belle came downstairs, there was tension between father and daughter. Belle was happy that Toby was finally off to Mexico. Nick visited Joan and offered again an amicable divorce. Joan tried to get rid of him as she knew Charlie was coming. When Charlie arrived, Nick realized he must have paid for the trial costs. Grace visited Belle and said she was very happy she was not sick after all. She wondered if Belle would leave Woodbridge as the town would always remind her of Robin’s death. Nick arrived after Grace’s departure. He questioned Belle : what was going on between her father and his wife ? Did Charlie bribe the Petersons ? Belle didn’t know for sure but could only guess. Joan was shocked when Charlie told her her brother Archie was in town and called him. Joan agreed to go to the motel instead of Charlie. When Joan arrived, Archie refused to tell her exactly what he planned. She left and Stan (previously called Ace) said they had to record Charlie’s confession on tape. #3862 – Tuesday, December 3rd 1968 Valerie called Judge Stevens’ chamber but his secretary, Eleanor Gault, said he was unavailable. Jill arrived and talked with Eleanor about Ken’s difficulties with finding a job or Sam’s new friendship with Valerie since the trial. Ken arrived. He told Jill he didn’t take the job offer as it sounded very boring. Jill was annoyed. At Valerie’s, Amy told her step-mother what Karen said about her sister wanting Paul. Amy left full of pride – she couldn’t be Paul’s doormat. Meanwhile, at Paul’s office, Karen told Paul she would quit as soon as he found a replacement as she couldn’t trust him anymore. Paul was very upset and angry. He told Karen she didn’t have to wait and Karen quit on the spot. Sam returned Val’s phone call and assured he would visit her to have a talk soon. He let Eleanor take care of the business. When Sam arrived, Val told him the D.A. had been unable to find who bribed the Petersons. She asked whether Sam knew a private investigator. She needed to know the truth. #3863 – Wednesday, December 4th 1968 At the Clemens’, Karen told his father she had quit her job. He wanted her to stay at home but she had other plans. Karen retired when Joan arrived. She told Charlie that Archie was very evasive but insisted Charlie come to the motel. He reluctantly agreed. Karen was surprised when his father left with no idea when he would be back. At the motel, Archie was nervous. What if Charlie wouldn’t come ? Stan tried to assure him he would. Belle and Paul met at the roadside restaurant. Paul said he was pleased she asked for him to come. Belle learned Karen quit and Amy was angry at Paul. Paul said he didn’t apologize to Amy and defended Belle. Belle wondered if Amy was jealous. Paul admitted Amy would have a very good reason to be jealous. He added he could never forget the previous summer. He left as it was late because Amy was still his wife. Charlie arrived at the motel. Archie made it clear. He wanted $5.000 to keep mum about Charlie bribing the Petersons. Charlies laughed that Archie had no proof. He added he was happy to provide the money to prove who Valerie Ames really were. He had no idea he was being recorded during his whole confession. #3864 – Thursday, December 5th 1968 Nick visited Valerie. He told her he met Charlie Clemens at Joan’s. He said he thought Charlie was responsible for the bribing of the Petersons and Belle thought it too. Valerie admitted Charlie had already attacked the Hearld in his Clarion editorials. Sam sensed the tension between his son and his daughter-in-law. Ken told Sam that Jill resented him for turning down another job offer. Sam wondered what kind of job Ken could enjoy. The phone rang. It was Valerie. She asked if she could come to talk about her problem even if she knew Sam didn’t approve her idea of hiring a private detective. Sam told her to come over. Valerie left after asking Nick to wait for Amy who was supposed to visit. Jill greeted Val when she arrived at the Stevens’. Valerie told Sam about what Nick found out. Sam said that there was no chance Charlie would admit and Val should drop it. Meanwhile, Jill asked Ken if he talked to his father about their debts in New York but he didn’t. Amy was surprised to find Nick at her step-mother’s. They had a great time talking about their situations before Nick went back to his motel room. #3865 – Friday, December 6th 1968 Amy visited Susan but only Frank was home. Frank said Susan was worried about her sister since Thanksgiving. Amy admitted there were reasons to worry as she and Paul had been barely civil to each other since. Meanwhile, Susan arrived at the Brittons’ and saw Paul who asked her to babysit Lisa. He would go mad if he stayed at home. At the Clemens’, Karen and Belle noticed their father seemed in trouble but he refused to talk about it. Paul arrived and asked Belle out : they needed to talk. Archie called Charlie and made him hear his voice on the tape recorder admitting his part in the bribery of the Petersons. Charlie asked Archie what he wanted. Archie said he would sell the tape for $5.000. Amy went back home and Susan told her Paul was edgy and left her with Lisa. Amy was sure he went to see Belle. In Paul’s car, Paul admitted to Belle it was a torture to be away from her. Belle kissed him but Paul released her and pushed her away. #3866 – Monday, December 9th 1968 Sam arrived at his chamber and told Eleanor of the evening he shared with Valerie. It could have been more pleasant but Val was focused on proving that Charlie Clemens gave Archie Borman the money to bribe the Petersons in the Kane divorce trial. Jill phoned Eleanor and asked her about secretary job. As Ken couldn’t get a job, Jill was ready to try to find some but she didn’t have experience. Ken heard. He told Jill he was fine with her working but assured he would find a job too, but one he liked. After Eleanor hung up, she told Sam that Jill was job-hunting. Sam wished it was unnecessary. Meanwhile, Jill learned from Amy that Paul needed a new secretary since Karen quit. Charlie arrived at Joan and told her she had to stop her brother. Joan was shocked that Archie was blackmailing Charlie after everything Charlie did for her. End of the episode missing #3867 – Tuesday, December 10th 1968 An exhausted Amy fell down on the sofa after doing some shopping. Val arrived and was sorry she couldn’t meet Amy the other night but Amy assured she enjoyed talking with Nick Kane. When Val came home, she found Ken in front of her home. He offered to do some housework for Valerie. Val agreed and offered him $3.00. She questioned Ken about his lifestyle and his refusal to get a job his father would like. Ken talked about his vision and Val respected it. In his office, Paul received Jill’s visit. She was interested in the secretary job. She didn’t want to use Amy’s frienship to get the job but she really needed it. Paul was reluctant at first but he let her type a few letters. Paul was impressed with Jill’s work. When the phone rang, Jill answered and it was Belle. After the phone call, she asked Paul if that was the reason he was hesitating hiring her as she was Amy’s best friend. Paul assured he was not and said she was hired. Susan visited Amy and asked her if she knew if Paul was with Belle when he let Susan babysit Lisa. Amy said she didn’t know and admitted to her sister she felt very tired lately. #3868 – Wednesday, December 11th 1968 Joan arrived at Charlie’s. She said she phoned her brother and his accomplice and they were determined to sell the tape to the Ames family or Arthur Rysdale if Charlie didn’t pay. Joan hoped Charlie wouldn’t bear a grudge against her because of her brother. Charlie called Archie and made an appointment. Belle came home and found Charlie and Joan in a hurry to leave. She laughed about how love could be complicated. In the motel room, Stan left before Charlie arrived. The manager of the motel arrived with a policeman. He had hired phone calls and noises all night long. When the policeman realized the man in the room was Archie Borman, wanted by the D.A., he told him to come to the police headquarters and bring the tape recorder he was playing with. Stan came back to the motel room and Charlie arrived. Stan told Charlie the deal was off as Archie and the tape disappeared while he was out. Paul waited for Belle in their usual roadsite restaurant. She asked him why he hired Jill, his wife’s best friend, as a secretary. Did he want someone to spy on Amy ? Paul assured he wasn’t conscious of it. #3869 – Thursday, December 12th 1968 On the evening, Valerie had finished dinner and listened on the news. She heard Archie Borman was brought on to being questioned about bribery and perjury charges. She phoned Sam at his home. He hadn’t heard about the situation but would try to get information. He invited Val to join him as Eleanor came for dinner and he wished the two could meet. Val arrived and Eleanor introduced herself. Sam said Archie didn’t give the police the name of the man who paid him but he had a tape recorder with him which could help. When Ken arrived, Val thanked him again for shovelling at her place. Eleanor noticed that with his background, Ken could find a way better job. Jill visited Amy and announced her friend she had been hired by Paul to be his secretary. Amy was surprised. She added that if Jill learned something about Paul and Belle, she didn’t have to tell her. She didn’t want to hear. Amy nearly fainted. She said she had suffered from dizziness for a while. When Jill came home, Ken told her about his job of the day. Jill was not amused. When she married Ken, she hoped he would become someone. Ken assured he would find the job of his dreams. #3870 – Friday, December 13th 1968 On morning, Belle told Charlie that Paul hired Jill Stevens to replace Karen but he didn’t listen. He was too preoccupied. Under pressure, Charlie told Belle the whole story – his offer of $1.000 to the Petersons to testify against Val, Archie’s return with the tape recorder and the extorsion. Belle didn’t show much sympathy. Charlie said he might leave for California with Karen to avoid disgrace. Belle told him Karen wouldn’t want to join him. Jill arrived for first full day of work while Paul was on the phone giving advice about a talented student ready to drop out of school. Jill drew parallels with her husband and questioned Paul about society. Jill said Ken had responsabilites for his family. Paul thought of his own responsibilites towards Amy and Lisa. Belle arrived in Paul’s absence and confronted Jill : she thought Jill was acting as an agent for Amy. Jill assured she was not, Amy wouldn’t listen to her. Jill added Belle had no reason breaking up a family and should move back out of Woodbridge. Belle answered it was Paul’s decision. Policeman Vince Farelli arrived in Frank’s office. He offered him the tape the police found on Archie. They couldn’t do much with it but he was sure Valerie would like to have it. Frank and Vince listened to the tape and Frank realized that was Charlie’s confession. The police might not use it but the Ames family certainly could. #3871 – Monday, December 16th 1968 Jerry arrived from work. He told Val about the tape Vince Farelli gave Frank – Charlie Clemens was the one who gave Archie the money to bribe the Petersons. Frank and Jerry had plans to confront Charlie. Valerie phoned Sam but only Ken was home. When he heard, Sam visited Valerie and was happy about the resolution. To celebrate, he asked Valerie to dinner at the Country club with Ken and Jill on the following day. Jill arrived at Amy’s and told her what Belle said – if Paul wanted to choose Amy, Belle would leave. Amy wondered if she had to put an ultimatum on Paul. She was convinced her health would be better if this was cleared. Sam called his son to tell him about the upcoming dinner. Ken had some bad childhood memories from the Country club and tried to back off when Jill arrived. She told Ken he was selfish as she wanted to go and he reluctantly agreed. While Jerry left for Grace’s where he was supposed to meet Frank, Sam and Valerie talked about Eleanor. Val said she liked her but didn’t approve her opinon on Ken. The closeness between Sam and Valerie could be noticed. #3872 – Tuesday, December 17th 1968 Charlie was ready to receive the visit of Frank and Jerry. Karen felt a bit sorry for her father but he was ready to fight the Ames. Karen went to Belle’s room and they talked about Charlie. Belle didn’t feel sorry for a man who was more a father to her sister than to her. Karen said she didn’t answer Charlie when he asked her to come to California with him but she didn’t answer. Belle sait she told Jill she would leave Woodbridge if Paul asked her to. At the Tyrells’, Frank and Jerry asked Susan to stay with Grace. Grace asked the men not to be too light on Charlie Clemens. Susan spoke to Van on the phone to congratulate her on the revelation of Charlie’s guilt. After the phone call, Grace mentioned how often Valerie was with Sam Stevens lately. Susan also told Grace about Amy’s tiredness. Jerry and Frank arrived at the Clemens house. They confronted Charlie. The Herald would publish his whole confession and everyone – including Arthur Rysdale – would learn he paid to discredit Valerie. If Charlie agreed to leave Woodbridge forever, they would not publish it. After the two men left, Charlie summoned his daughters. He said he would leave by the end of the week. Neither Belle nor Karen intended to follow Charlie out of Woodbridge. #3873 – Wednesday, December 18th 1968 At the Brittons, Amy received a phone call from Susan who told her Archie Borman had been arrested and Charlie Clemens would leave town to avoid disgrace. Amy told the news to Paul. Amy added that Belle might join her father if Paul told her to. Joan received a visit from Stan Collins. She thought he would have gone back to New York after Archie’s arrest. He said he sold his car and wanted to remain in Woodbridge. He showed some interest in Joan. Archie’s bail was $3.000 and maybe Joan could find the money thanks to her estranged husband. Charlie arrived and ordered Stan out. He told Joan what happened, that he would leave and stop helping her on her coffee house project. He even wanted the money held in escrow. Joan was shocked, called him a dirty old man and Charlie left. She phoned Nick’s motel. She would need to see her husband. Amy met Nick at his motel to have coffee. They had an enjoyable talk until Amy fainted. Nick suggested she rest in his room for a while. She agreed. #3874 – Thursday, December 19th 1968 Nick escorted Amy to his room at the motel. She was very tired and he told her she had to rest. Joan phoned. She needed money to pay for her brother’s bail. He refused. Amy had heard and said that if Paul left her, she hoped she wouldn’t lean on him as Joan was doing with Nick. Amy told Nick he should move to a nicer bachelor apartment than this awful motel room. She would help him finding a place to bring a woman when she fainted. They laughed. In Paul’s office, Paul was not happy with Jill lecturing Belle and telling Amy. Jill was repentant and Paul allowed Jill to leave one hour early for her country club dinner with Sam, Valerie and Ken. Paul said Amy asked him to tell Belle to leave with her father. He wondered Sam told Eleanor she could have the afternoon off for Christmas shopping as he would leave to have dinner with Valerie, Ken and Jill. Eleanor was obviously jealous. When Sam expressed gratitute for Jill’s influence on Ken, Eleanor said she hoped Valerie would not have a bad influence on Ken. #3875 – Friday, December 20th 1968 Charlie was ready to leave and Belle showed him she was indifferent. Karen agreed to drive Charlie to the airport but she assured Belle she was not convinced to leave town. Paul visited after Charlie and Karen left. He asked Belle if she would really leave Woodbridge if he asked. She said she would. At the country club, Ken had sneaked out of the Venetian room where he didn’t feel comfortable and asked Wally the bartender for a martini. Ken gave Wally a few tips on cocktails as he learned some in Buffalo during his senior year. Wally introduced Ken to Alex Lockwood, the club manager, who was delighted to meet Judge Stevens’ son. Wally said Alex they were very short-staffed and maybe Alex could hire Ken. Alex laughed at first but Ken inisted he would love to. Jill saw the scene in a distance in complete disbelief. Paul was very hesitant. He didn’t know what to do. He had expected to ask Belle to go but he couldn’t. He finally relented and passionately kissed her. Belle had won.
  21. I think Belle came to Woodbridge as a sick woman but then learned she was cured and hid this fact. Not sure 100%. Will try to find more about 1968 at some date.
  22. Some earlier episodes I could read script recently. I now have the episodes from late November 68 to early March 69. Will try to recap them all during summer. #3856 – Monday, November 25th 1968 Val was surprised to receive a visit from Toby Coleman back from Acapulco. He hadn’t told Belle yet he was back in Woodbridge and would like an update on her. Val told him about Belle’s pursuit of Paul but she couldn’t really blame a woman who lost her child tragically recently and who was at death’s door. After Toby left, Grace visited Valerie and they talked about Thanksgiving plans. Valerie assured Grace she was more willing than ever to find out who blackmailed the Petersons to discredit her at the Kane divorce trial. At the Clemens living room, Belle had taken the morning off for a luncheon date with Paul. Charlie asked her if she was really interested in Paul or if she acted out of revenge on Amy. Joan arrived to see Charlie but he had left. Belle wondered if there was a blossoming May-December romance between Joan and her father since he paid the Petersons for Joan’s divorce case. After Joan left, Belle was shocked to see Toby. He had always said he would come back. What would happen to Belle when people learned she was not ill ? Archie woke up in a seedy hotel room in New York. A man called Ace Rollins knocked at the door. A drunk Archie told him last night he was on the run from the law and he also talked about a Clemens guy. Ace said they should team up and get money from Clemens who would buy Archie’s silence about his implication. #3857 – Tuesday, November 26th 1968 At Paul’s office, Karen asked him if he wanted a sandwich. He declined because he had a luncheon date. He got irritated when Karen questioned him about the date. Paul left for his lunch with Belle in a roadside restaurant. He didn’t want Amy to learn about it. Belle feigned the date was innocent. Belle told Paul that Toby came back and threatened her to reveal she was not dying. Paul said he would be relieved the lie be over. Paul questioned Belle about her motives. Was she seeing him to get the score with Amy after Robin’s death ? Belle admitted it could have been at first but she was falling in love with him. She asked Paul about his feelings and he couldn’t answer. Amy called Jill. She would be late for their lunch. She wanted to get the map for Paul’s office ready and surprise him with it. Ken came downstairs – he had an appointment at the Herald set up by Sam. He was not interested in the job but Jill reminded him of their debts in New York. At the office, Amy brought the map and was sad to see Paul was absent. Karen couldn’t tell her much about his date as nothing was scheduled. Amy went to Jill’s. He told Valerie that Nick didn’t come for a drink because it could be bad publicity for Nick to be seen at Valerie’s after the trial. Val said she wanted to invite Nick for Thanksgiving anyway. Belle and Toby quarrelled in the Clemens living room. She said she was through with him. Toby realized it was because of Paul. He was the one she confided her real health condition to. She threatned him if he told anyone. Toby left. Alone, Amy wondered what she could tolerate about Paul and Belle’s closeness. At her place, Belle was also thinking : she was really falling for Paul. Didn’t she deserve some happiness after what happened to her ? At Valerie’s, Grace and Susan arrived. Val announced she had called Nick to invite him for Thanksgiving. Suddenly, Toby appeared and said the Ames family should learn the truth about Belle. Susan rushed at Amy and told her what Toby learned them : Belle was not sick. He had been told something in confidence and he had to respect Belle’s secret. Amy said it enabled Paul to spend time with Belle, that was all and she went back to her room in tears. A new quarrel erupted and Paul defended Belle : she had thought to be dying for a long time and after Robin’s death, she acted confusedly. Amy could understand. He left for the Club as college was closed. Belle had admitted to Charlie she was not sick after Toby’s betrayal. Charlie was shocked but Karen said they should be relieved Belle was not dying. After Karen left, Joan arrived and told Charlie that Belle suspected him of having paid off the Petersons but Charlie assured his daughter had no evidence. Joan added her mother said Archie was living poorly in New York. Meanwhile, Archie and Ace arrived at a motel. Ace had convinced they would pay later and showed Archie a tape recorder. Karen visited the Brittons. She wanted to tell Paul she could no longer work for him as he hid her the fact her sister was not dying. Paul was not there then she told Amy.
