  1. That video was great. Love BTS stuff. Wish they would go into more detail about the decisions made re the set eg why the entrance was switched etc. As for the Fri episode, I wonder who is behind it. I don't believe Josh has the knowledge to choose specific flashbacks,so who are the go to people that can identify those moments?
  2. Glad to see new energy and enthusiasm at Y&R. Hope she's been told this is a soap about real people in Wisconsin. I am not up for Sex and the City fashion fantasies.
  3. If there had have been some studio trees/bushes and a larger wall in front of it, it would have looked better.
  4. There is, but a CBS daytime soap is probably not on them. All this talk of politics brings to mind Capitol, which was a soap specifically set in the world of politics, which managed over 5 years not to include any hot button political issues. I know it was a different time, but I can't see BTG bothering to address contentious issues. It's a no win for them if they do. And when the first dismissals occur, for whatever reason, they'll be given 30 min to clear out their dressing room. Just facts...
  5. Unfortunately, all the production tricks in the world can't hide that the stories are rotten. As for Sharon's downfall, she'll have a couple of weeks away and come back with everyone barely acknowledging anything happened. When Phyllis can parade around as though she hasn't down worse...
  6. I think it would have looked better if we saw less of it- some studio trees to block some of it or a higher fence etc
  7. Without Stephanie Williams recreating the role , was there any reason to make this role Amy? Will she'll be reconnecting with Traci or Lauren, the only two characters still around from her time on the show? I doubt it. She could have just been a woman who had a brief relationship with Nathan at some point w/o the (so far)pointless return of Amy.
  8. Which probably the other producers have not bothered with.
  9. Grrr...Traci enters Crimson Lights and walks through an empty space to meet Alan in the back area. Why not just have her come into that space and not show the lack of customers?
  10. THE BREWSTER STANDARD-ESTABLISHED 1869 Thursday, March 30,1978 The GOP Women's Republican Club of Putnam County, Inc., will sponsor a luncheon at Sciortino's Restaurant in Brewster on Friday, April 14, featuring Henry Slesar, head writer for the "Edge of Night," one of the better known daytime television serials. Mr. Slesar, a resident of Patterson, holds quite an impressive record in writing. On March 18 of this year he marketed the tenth year as headwriter of "TheEdge of Night." (This appears to be the record for continuous writing of a serial). He is also currently the head writer of the serial, "Search for Tomorrow." Henry Slesar adds to his credits about 60 scripts for Alfred Hitchcock Presents, plus about 80 leleplays for The Name of the Game. Run for Your Life, Batman ABS Movie of the Week, ABC Mystery of the Week, Man From Uncle and others. He also wrote the pilot script for the series, Executive Suite. He has authored five novels, some 500 short stories and has several short story collections. He is the writer of the Warner Brothers movie, "Two on a Guillotine," some 28 radio plays for the ABC Mystery Theatres, and has stories included in some 85 anthologies and textbooks. Henry Slesar was awarded an "Edgar" for the best first mystery novel in 1960 by the Mystery Writers of America, a special "Edgar" award in 1977 for The Edge of Night and a National Academy award as the best daytime serial writer for The Edge of Night in 1974. In addition, he is also owner and president of the advertising agency Slesar and Manuels, Inc., and locally, owner and president of Pawling Tele-Antenna Systems Inc., cable television. The luncheon at Sciortino's will feature lasagna and be served at 1 p.m. Cocktails will be availalbe at noon in the lounge. Tickets are available from Jane Spuehler, chairman, of 26 Rutland Drive, Patterson, or any club member. Reservations must be made. •
  11. When she first arrived in GC Sally and Jack were seeing each other, but Jack was hesitant in going further. Phyllis and Summer were against the relationship and plotted against her. Jack found out some truths about Sally and broke off with her.
  12. A big shock at the wedding? We'll see... So great to see Jess/Jill. She seems stoked to be there. Hopefully more Jill to come. And everyone looked good. Costuming is already improving. Ed Scott is credited on Monday. Watched the Global episode. Everyone was appropriately dressed for the season. Not a one shoulder or backless dress to be seen. Although Sharon is wearing a fugly mini dress. We saw CL, GCAC and Society of course but the director kept the shots tight so we didn't see the empty tables and used the extras in the shot to give an impression that it was busy. And there was a bedroom set! No to Billy/Sally. Wish Josh would stop the musical couples. Sally has now been with Jack, Adam,Nick and Billy. Billy with Victoria, Chelsea, Lily and now Sally. It's like Josh just picks names out of a hat, writes these couples as truly in love then breaks them up and moves on.
  13. Joey Allan Phipps (Kelly #1) was Dennis Parker's boyfriend. Can't recall if Dennis got him the job or what exactly went down.
  14. Victoria Wyndham with Harding Lemay at her 25th Anniversary bash.
  15. Variety review.
  16. Well getting married for the 3rd time in less than 10 years might be a factor...
  17. FTR trivia - due to a power failure in Manhattan, Mon Aug 17 1959, From These Roots and Young Dr Malone were off the air for that day. NBC hurriedly replaced them with a repeat 'I Take Thee', an NBC News Special. For the record FTR cast list as of Sept 1959 from an NBC press release. Liz Fraser played by Susan Brown Ben Fraser . Rod Hendrickson Emily Benson. . . Helen Shields Lydia Benson... Sarah Hardy Jim Benson ... Henderson Forsythe Ben Fraser Jr. . Frank Marth Rose Fraser. . . Tomkins . . .Ward Costello Laura Tomkins . .Audra Lindley Dr. Mc Andrew...Edgar Stehli
  18. Architectural Digest says Joan was known for The Women, Baby Jane and...Humoresque. Really AD? Such sloppy journalism. It should have been Mildred Pierce but someone got their wires crossed.
  19. Just thinking how times have changed since the last new soap launches. Then we waited for network press releases and magazine coverage eg SOD. Seeing the cast in casual clothing makes me look forward to the contrast when they are in costume. Sorry Clifton but that fugly shirt and baggy trousers combo isn't going to cut it! As for those familiar crew member, MVJ has been around and probably wants to work with people she knows and feels comfortable with. Also to give some of them the chance she is getting to work in a (hopefully) more creative environment. Being a woman of a certain age she may not have many connections with younger creatives.
  20. I see that Nate's penthouse has been redressed. Looks better. How did he came to be living there? At one point I recall he sold it to Chelsea? And he moved to Cane/Lily's house. Lily moved to an apartment with Billy but then moved to Devon's penthouse. Devon lives at the Chancellor Estate, with Abby, right? Victoria and her kids moved out of her house to the Tack House, where Mariah and Tessa were living. They moved elsewhere but we never see their house. We see Daniel's apartment,Sharon's cottage and the Nikki/Victor room. Nick lives at his house we no longer see. Same with Lauren/Michael. Jack, Diane, Traci and Kyle live at the Abbott house. Where do these characters live? Sally, Phyllis,Summer, Audra, Chance,Adam,Chelsea? Have I missed anyone?
  21. Variety review from April 63
  22. Full circle soap moment for Clifton Davis .His first major TV role was A World Apart in 1971. Interesting to see how all those characters tie together and how different occupations will be depicted. A lot of sets needed for various workplaces.
  23. Variety Review April 3 1963
  24. That AD article was clickbait. A couple of shots of interiors. I was hoping for a lot more.
  25. So if they start taping Nov 4 they will be at least 8 weeks ahead, unless they (hopefully) spend extra time getting the first few weeks in the can. It will be interesting to see how the publicity strategy evolves over the next few months.
