  1. Jenifer Lewis might be out of the shows budget but she would be a good choice to play one of Anita's group mates. I think can play a serious role and dial back the comedy. I think Hayley is more interested in status than Bill. Having him is useless without being in with the in-crowd.
  2. Forgot to discuss how Hayley got a promotion after Mike retaliated against the receptionist. What exactly did Hayley do for that promotion?
  3. Kat made herself look really childish with that "you're in my seat" stunt. Her suspicions about Eva are not wrong, but she's too worried about making fun of her clothes and feeling threatened by her presence than trying to find out what she's up to. Eva is pushing her buttons because she is figuring out how easy it is to set Kat off. Hayley being ignored at the country club was hilarious. At one point I thought she was going to get loud, but she did have enough sense to just leave. Naomi suing Bill would be quite a good story to watch. Of course it gives Bill another reason to engage with Dani because he was certainly blame her. Bill has some decency. I liked how he told that creepy partner to back off talking about Kat. Dani laying on the floor at the end was a perfect soap scene. It really is opening the door to how damaged she is and that her family doesn't know the extent.
  4. Mary Jenkins was less strict than Martin. She let Brenda start dating at 16. And the way Martin said "horny little bastards" was like a bad knock off of those transatlantic actresses.
  5. Breaking Dani's magazine cover could be seen as tit for tat, but I feel as if Hayley was displaying a bit of jealousy for Dani and used that opportunity to get it out. Hayley's whole cookie baking, neighborly persona is slipping and she is showing that she really isn't as fragile as she wants Fairmont Crest to believe. Eva subtly trying to make Kat look bad for leaving dirty dishes on the table was perfection. She is playing very smart against Kat's animosity by remaining passive aggressive.
  6. I like the security guard that Dani conned into giving her the passcode to Bill and Hayley's house.
  7. LOL I'm not surprised that Robin is on Dani's side because Dani has some of Dorian's campy ways.
  8. The part about airtime is true, but it feels like those two are just there for the sake of diversity.
  9. Ashley and Derek are far underdeveloped so regardless of casting the characters would still have issues. The White characters were not as well crafted save for Vanessa. With soaps being very White as it is it is understandable if MVJ was more centered on Black character development first. I don't think it is intended but Ashley and Derek are very much token White characters at this stage.
  10. Ashley seems to be in the vein of those old soap characters that were supposed to be really noble. But the character is quite underdeveloped and comes off as a recurring one more than a contract one.
  11. The emphasis on the backstory is tells how Dani got to this point. Getting married at 19 is probably a bad idea and it seems like Bill married her for access to her family. Plus she gave up her career and is driving her daughter to be a model to make up for that. It doesn't even seem like she had any relationships other than with Bill.
  12. Photography on soaps and TV shows in general tends to be rather bad. It's pretty much screenshots that are cropped without any filtering.
  13. It would be. While the writers aren't going to have a core character turn into a murderer they certainly have borrowed from the harassing behavior Broderick engaged in and how her husband achieved his success with her help. What I can see happening is that Bill's shady legal antics get him shot and Dani gets blamed for it but no one believes her. And of course her gun will be the weapon.
  14. Dani is giving Betty Broderick vibes. Not sure if the writing was inspired in part by that story.
  15. Dani is close to getting drunk and driving Bill over a cliff (I'm sure most get the reference). The alcoholism is probably going to play a bigger role soon. Andre trying to kiss Ashley was almost more embarrassing than Dani passing out in Bill's house.
  16. I think it might. Not because she cares anything about what Eva thinks, but because she might regret not being there and see it as having left a door open for Eva to working her way into Ted and Nicole's good graces. Nicole telling Eva to get a dress from Kat's closet is very much a small device to amp up the rivalry.
  17. Could be wrong but I feel like Kat's absence will be used as a way for Eva to drive a wedge between Kat and her parents. "I was there for your mother's big night while you were somewhere else" is a sharp clapback for Eva should she need one against Kat's constant insults and suspicions.
  18. Leslie could eventually be blended into the canvas like Phyllis Summers who is still kind of a villain but is also a weird kind of normal.
  19. He did not have to bulge his eyes at her like that. Milk Dud Head tried it.
  20. Leslie had on her opening credits dress in her fantasy.
  21. Trisha Mann-Grant is definitely will be a contender for a Best Supporting Actress Emmy nomination. Maybe even Lead Actress depending on how this story progresses.
  22. Eva seems to be getting attached to Nicole and that's going to eventually make Leslie furious. I can hear her saying something like "So you're gonna choose that rich heifer over your Mama?" lol.
  23. Had an opportunity to binge watch this while on vacation and was very impressed. I don't get attached to very many shows, but it really drew me in. 8 seasons is an amazing feat.
  24. This is the show's third week. Nothing is going to be wrapped up on any soap in that short amount of time.
  25. Naomi did ask why Jacob didn't give a heads up so I think it was the surprise of the arrest that made the reaction worse. Jacob seems like he might have been trying to make a name for himself by arresting an elite. His reaction to being the crooked cop's partner raised that flag for me because it showed a level of ambition. IMO, he is more than willing to throw his wife's family under the bus (rightfully or wrongfully) if he can advance in the police department.
