The Walking Dead: Discussion Thread
You are right, but remember when Rick or someone asked Jenner about their test results, he said that he found what he expected. Now I am pretty sure that he tested them for the virus and found it in their blood. If the virus was airborne, Jenner would not have bothered testing their blood.

I don't think that virus is airborne. I think that it is in blood and when someone dies, it is triggered. This is why Jenner said that he found what he expected from their test results and this is what he told Rick. This really changes the dynamic. It means that the virus won't run it course. Rather, they will have to destroy the brains of everyone who dies and hope they die in front of people so they don't turn into walkers. However, there must be some people who are immune and that is where they will find the cure. The final Rick/Shane scene was very well done. I also liked the shot of the walkers approaching from above. it was all so menacing and scary. I was holding my breath. I realized that Rick was stalling for time with Shane, but I though Rick was going to pull a gun from his pants and shoot Shane. Rick pulling the knife and stabbing Shane was shocking. What drama with a twist. TWD rocks! I just love this show.

At this point, I think it is either leave the farm or die so I think that they will all abandon the farm. Hopefully, killing Randall will give Glenn the confidence to be with Maggie again. They are such a sweet couple. Hershel has really grown on me. He is such a good man, but I think it is hard for the elderly to survive in such a harsh environment.

Boy, do I agree. I don't understand how AMC could cut TWD's budget in favor of that dreary Mad Men which hardly anyone watches. I have never been able to get through more than 15 minutes of that show.

The virus must be in their blood. Remember Jenner testing them and saying that it was what he expected. I can't get over how Shane finally went over the edge. I was rolling my eyes when Lori was thanking him, but I think she was just trying to make peace and say goodbye. Shane couldn't deal with that or maybe he took it wrongly as a sign of hope and decided to end it with Rick. But know what, if Shane had gone back to the house without Rick, Daryl would have killed him. Daryl is no one's fool. He would know that it would be only a matter of time before Shane killed the rest of them. Oh, I also liked the Andrea/Glenn scene. It was a sweet moment for them to mourn Dale. Glenn crying was very touching.

It is not over, but I am just loving this episode. Shane is a real SOB. Daryl has got his number good. I can't believe that Rick is going out there with Shane alone. When will that man learn? Okay, I take it back. I notice that Rick is carefully staying behind Shane. He is watching him like a hawk. OMG, the walker is Randall. This kill should give Glenn confidence. Ha, Rick took out Shane. Why the hell is Carl still running around the farm alone? The walkers are coming. Run, you fools. Damn, that was excellent. Oh, and those comparing Mad Men to TWD promos were hilarious. AMC is so desperate to get people to watch it

HBO: Game of Thrones
Excellent promo. It actually got my heart racing a bit. April 1st cannot come fast enough. It looks like HBO really invested some serious money, the landscape and sets look even more amazing. With Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, and Grimm, I am in tv heaven.

The Glenn/Hershel scene was really moving. I loved how Hershel mentioned that "this country was built by immigrants." It is something that too many people forget. Other than the American Indians, everyone's people came from somewhere else. Giving Glenn the watch was so sweet. Hershel has really grown on me. Rick seems to think that Shane is no longer a threat which we know is a big mistake. No doubt without the Dale, Shane will be emboldened. However, Rick has Darryl and really everyone else (other than Andrea) in the camp only trust him.

Wow, that episode was tedious until the final scene. Poor Dale. He was right about Randall, but he was annoying the hell out of me. For Dale to go like that was so sad. It was right that Daryl stepped up and did what had to be done. Everything cannot be put on Rick. Damn, Carl is an annoying kid. It is incredible how Rick and Lori let him run around the farm unsupervised with zombies all around. ETA: I liked Hershel giving Glenn his blessing to be with Maggie.

Thanks for the heads up. I already have my suspicions of what happens next and I don't want to be completely spoiled. I think we have two to three more episodes. I am convinced that they are going to be outstanding!

Andrea's hero worship of amoral Shane has gone way too far. She has become a major hypocrite. You just know that if it was her sister threatening suicide, Andrea would never turn her back and let her cut herself. Yeah, Rick is going to regret giving Shane this chance. He wants to believe that Shane is redeemable because he was his friend once, but soon Rick is going to have to accept that Shane is a real threat to not only him and his family, but to the group as a whole.

Another good episode. I watched Rick fight off those zombies on top of him through my fingers, but I loved it. Shane is such a dumbass. I cheered when Rick laid down the law for Shane, but Rick is merely delaying the inevitable. He is going to have to kill Shane eventually. I wanted to root for Andrea when she went off on Lori, but Andrea's attitude towards that depressed young girl was repellent. In the end, I wanted to slap them both.

HBO: Game of Thrones
Anothe excellent promo. Jon Snow and dragons, I like.

Yeah, another good episode. Lots of action, zombies, and drama. I liked that Lori finally realizing how dangerous Shane is and driving the point home to Rick. I get so tired of people knowing things and not speaking up. Rick needed to understand that Shane is a real threat to him and the others in the group. I get that Rick's humanity made him save that guy, but I think it was the wrong move. Poor Glenn. He makes me sob. Daryl seems to be coming around with Carol's help so that is good. Andrea is a dope, following Shane around likea puppy dog.

I have never been able to get through more than 5 minutes of that show and its ratings are dreck compared to TWD. Great to have another TWD fan. The show rocks. Most definitely this was one reason that Darabont was fired although they tried to played it as if he quit. I hope that AMC loses a ton of cash on Mad Men. Gawd, I regret clicking on that link. I could have spent my whole life not knowing that kind of rubbish. Our obsession with celebrities is out of control. Who f'ing cares?

Wow, fantastic ratings for TWD. It was a great premeire. AMC must be in heaven. It cut TWD's budget and the ratings have increased so that means more profit. It is really great that basic cable networks have started picking up scripted shows. TWD would have never made it to network tv. I know. I think the actor playing Shane is so good and Rick needs an antogonist so they are keeping him alive longer.

Great start the TWD. Rick rocks! I love Glenn. He is so sweet. Maggie is lucky to have him. Daryl is wonderful as well. Someone needs to shoot Shane in the head. Could Lori any more of a fool? Gawd.

Whitney Houston dead at 48!
RIP, Whitney. I truly hope that she has found peace at last. My friend and I were in shock over the news last night. This morning I have been watching some of her vidoes on YT. I had forgotten how many wonderful songs she had and how much they are linked to my memories of friends, families, and old crushes from the past. Truer words never spoken. I would add Luther Vandross to that list. It is not even an age thing. The studios seem desperate to remake the icons, but few of the singers/pop acts have managed to produce anything memorable that have come close. The only one who has come close for me is Mary J. Blige and she had to break through the studio packaging.

I just saw Mark Collier in a new Breathe Right commercial. Maybe he is going to be their primary spokesperson. It isn't much in the way of acting, but I love seeing him on my screen again.
