  3. I wasn’t impressed with Marriage Story at all, but I thought the actors who played lawyers (Liotta, Alda, Dern) were all great. Dern was doing her Dern thing, but I thought she did well, the preachy screed about Jesus aside. I always find it interesting how they determine what is an “Oscar movie” vs. “an Emmy-worthy made-for-TV movie” when both are primarily viewed on a streaming service. I know it’s pedigree (no way is Martin Scorsese letting Netflix submit “The Irishman” for Emmys), but it still feels a bit arbitrary, these distinctions, similar to how Netflix will put certain digital series up for Primetime vs. Daytime Emmys.

    I suppose they were trying to find a slightly more Republican “relatable mom” to fill Sara Haines’ role, but Abby couldn’t be more of a wishy-washy, basic pageant queen. Who knows? Sara could become available again soon. How is the talk show with Michael Strahan and Keke Palmer doing?
