The Alzheimer’s story really limited her, and they weren’t committed to telling it with the ruthless detail that GH did with Mike. (Ironically, GH is the show with the stronger youth focus, yet they gave an older character this platform, even if ultimately it was Emmy bait for Maurice Benard. But Max Gail got a lot to play, with all the staged flashbacks, etc.)

Undoing it by making it a result of Graham poisoning her might have trivialized the story, but like @Paul Raven said, they don’t even seem that interested in fleshing out the cast with older characters. TPTB see no place on Y&R in 2020 for Dina, so why would they bother undoing it? They barely even show Jack these days, much less Ashley or Traci. The characters they’re showcasing almost all just happen to be 25-54, with a handful of well-established exceptions.

I thought it was a fun match, and I’m glad to see someone new win a major. She played really confident tennis.

Shemar Moore’s sole daytime role has been Malcolm on Y&R.

That shadow on Chatrier makes the match unwatchable.

Cloud clover is helping. This is actually pretty entertaining. Some very aggressive play.

I was hoping to see Tom Pelphrey in the teaser too. Not sure how big his part is, though.

They all but confirmed it by finally cutting Maya from their recent opening but glad to see KM make it official. Sad that they allowed a “historic” character to just do the Irish goodbye. A waste and they painted Maya into a corner with a story they knew they couldn’t truly execute.

Many long-running tentpole characters never got such a protracted send-off. (Granted, you can’t plan for the death of a character when a real-life actor dies unexpectedly, but this has been one of the most drawn-out deaths I’ve seen in recent years.)
