The relationship with her husband is so interesting! Missing for 3 days and won’t tell you where he is? Either he cheating or doing something illegal. Ima say cheating.

I would not put up with that husband, hot or not. He’s gunning for Marc Daly’s position as worst ATL spouse, and he’s only an episode in. He was SO disrespectful in the way he spoke to Drew. You can only imagine how he speaks to her off camera. Of course, it takes two to tango, but... toxic. At least they’re being transparent that they’re not a perfect partnership, and she certainly brought the drama from the jump.

  2. Compare what GH did with their Ned/Alexis affair, which traditional soap trajectory everyone here wanted for the Nate/Elena boink: peripheral characters surrounding Ned/Alexis all discovering the secret and ratcheting up the tension over weeks. Tracy returned and got involved. Meanwhile, Y&R took the path of least drama, with everyone in Genoa City finding out that Nate and Elena fúcked within a couple weeks. And here we are today, with Elena and Nate embarking on a dry, throwaway, socially distanced love story that has no rooting value or real tension while Olivia on GH is still none the wiser.

Also same. Sometimes it's not about an issue that does exist and more about the fact that a person is just too much, rude, a d#$&, etc and THAT has nothing to do with color or race at all.

Totally. Sometimes you have to call it like it is. There are harmful “angry black woman” stereotypes for sure, but Wendy was trying to dodge accountability for her behavior, which turned off viewers and her castmates. Telling considering how much she was throwing around the term “accountable” regarding Monique.

  4. I’m interested in seeing who returns for S6 after this Potomac reunion. Is Monique just going out with all guns blazing, or is she securing her spot, à la Porsha? This group feels like it won’t hold without some changes.

Speaking of someone on the bubble: Wendy annoyed me with her hijacking of the term “aggressive” as somehow “colorist” against dark-skinned black women. I liked that Monique pushed back on that. Wendy and Candiace *did* behave aggressively. We all said Wendy came in to too hot. I just hate when people use the current political climate, which is addressing real social problems, so cynically.

Two gay theme Christmas movies in two days. I have a feeling the one tonight will be better although I didn't see the one last night. I have it on dvr to watch later.

  6. I totally agree with this assessment from AV Club about SNL’s bloated cast:

This cast is not confident enough to make sketches pop the way they need to. With heavy-hitter Aidy Bryant still off shooting Shrill and fellow scene-stealers Kate McKinnon and Cecily Strong pulling back this season, there’s finally some room for the rest of the cast to assert themselves. But, while new kids Lauren Holt, Andrew Dismukes, and Punkie Johnson all had more airtime this week than in the rest of their shows combined (don’t check the math on that), they, along with vets like Ego Nwodim, Alex Moffatt, Mikey Day, and Melissa Villaseñor, just aren’t seizing the moment. In several sketches, laugh lines were delivered to silence. And, sure, the lines may not have been gold—but SNL sketches are sold on performance as much as writing. That’s a huge burden to put on sketch actors, but, well, this is the big leagues as far as sketch comedy goes, and this cast has largely settled into the role of bench players who seem just happy to be there. There are exceptions apart from the aforementioned McKinnon, Strong, and Bryant. Kenan, obviously, although he appeared to have the night off. Gardner and Bennett, as we see here, match up well, and can carry a sketch on their own. Kyle Mooney is in his singular, weird little world, which I generally appreciate. Bowen Yang, Chloe Fineman, and Chris Redd continue to shine when they’re given the opportunity. And Pete is Pete. But, man, this cast is huge, and, if, as tonight, some of the lesser-deployed cast members get to pick up a bat, they’ve got to make more use of their limited time at the plate.

  7. B&B really shot themselves in the foot. I suppose they saved a lot of money filming all those scenes with only Matthew Atkinson in a tiny room with a doll. But between that, the black InstaQuad, the repetitive Liam/Hope/Steffy threesome, the quickest recovery from a motorcycle accident and painkiller addiction ever, and the repetitive and nonsensical Shauna/Eric/Quinn “story,” I’m surprised that more people didn’t tune out. There’s nothing remotely entertaining going on IMO.
