I posted this in the RIP thread, but his final performance was at last month’s CMA Awards, which was a maskless, in-person event, leading to speculation about when and where he contracted COVID.

I saw that he passed from COVID complications. I immediately remembered that he performed and received an award at the in-person CMA Awards a month ago, where people were unmasked in a room, and I can’t but wonder when he contracted the virus. Lots of speculation online about it.
