  1. I’m curious if CK dictated the no-black-guy edict (which I’m skeptical about) or if Y&R imposed it. As it stands, CK has certainly had more A-story opportunities than any non-Latinx actress of color in daytime in the past 10-15 years, perhaps because her “racial ambiguity” made it safe to pair her with the show’s golden [read: white] boys. As we’ve seen, Y&R has repeatedly marginalized its black male characters. Cane, who wasn’t particularly well-drawn, had a whole family built around him (played two of the most famous soap actors ever) after his Chancellor ruse was uncovered. Would a black male character been offered that same level of development? Would Lily have been given (ridiculously SORASed) children if paired with a black man?

  2. I can’t imagine how crappy it must feel when a temp recast is better received than you are, à la Lindsay Korman/Kelly Monaco on GH or now Justin Gaston/Donny Boaz here.

I’ll just say that MO is blessed. Hubby is smokin’ hot.

Might I say that Abby/Chance were actually sort of cute and fun today? I don’t usually say that about soap couples these days.

It's a tricky situation no matter what Billboard does - people will always find loopholes and ways to game to the system. Whether that's Sony/Tommy Mottola discounting quite a few of Mariah Carey's singles in the 90's at $0.49 in order to push her singles to #1, or record companies and managers paying radio station programmers huge sums to play songs/artists in heavy rotation (back when radio airplay alone meant a high charting position in the early 00's), and now this.

It’s tough, I know, but IMO the charts feel particularly off right now.
