  1. I was the one who brought up Wisner, Megan, and Lorraine—how dare you forget! Triple slaps Eric, Erica Kane-style.
  2. There were definitely some backstage politics at play. According to soap magazines at the time, Agnes was promoted to "Executive Head Writer," while Megan became "Head Writer." However, Agnes remained uncredited in her new role, which was unusual. Meanwhile, Megan gave interviews to the soap press, claiming she had been driving the show's storylines even before her official promotion. It seems there may have been differing opinions between ABC Daytime executives and Agnes regarding the show's direction. Regardless, on the surface it seemed things worked out at least in the short term—All My Children won its first Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series, thanks to the Terrance Frye episode, where he was beaten in Tom's gym. I'd really like to know whose idea was it to bring Janet onto the canvas. Was that Megan? Agnes? Lorraine most recently said that the Who Killed Will storyline was not hers (I think she was at GL at this point).
  3. I re-watched the panel on YouTube and realized I missed this part. At one point, the panelists were whispering to each other. Kelly quietly mentioned some names to Susan, who then moved the microphone behind her so no one could hear and she responded with an "Oh yes." Were they possibly talking about Kate Collins and James Kiberd?
  4. I don't think it was Patrick Mulcahey. I believe it was Agnes and Douglas Marland who co-created Loving. I don't know the reason for the falling out.
  5. You're saying I can't start the daily All My Children threads anymore? 😂
  6. This interview is a year old but I just stumbled upon it. Susan Lucci interview on Alex Baldwin’s podcast. https://www.iheart.com/podcast/1119-heres-the-thing-with-alec-23562128/episode/susan-lucci-wins-it-all-144920026/
  7. I watched the 92NY panel event, and I really wish they had allocated 90 minutes instead of just 60. There was so much more the panelists could have shared. I especially wanted to hear more from Lorraine and learn more about the alternate ending. I wish Andy had asked for details on that. If I remember correctly, there was speculation that all the couples might get their happy endings, like Gillian and Ryan and Leo and Greenlee. Instead, Gillian and Leo ended up as figments of their true love’s imagination. Eva La Rue was schedule to be part of the panel. I wonder if the LA fires prevented her from flying out. Jennifer Bassey wasn’t originally in the lineup but it was nice to see her. She’s still sharp as a tack and saucy as ever! I was also hoping to hear the inevitable question that always gets asked… “Will the show return?” But the question wasn’t asked, unfortunately. Also, Bob Nixon, Agnes’s son, was in the audience, as was Bill Christian (Derek Frye), and Ray MacDonnell’s daughter, and Sandy Gabriel who played Edna Thornton.
  8. Love it @Cheap21!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes I agree!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Happy National Erica Day!
  10. I do wonder how people would have felt if Matt had stayed as Brian for the Dixie/Brian story. The recast allowed them to just make him a brand new character. I really enjoyed Matt Borlenghi's portrayal of Brian Bodine, especially because I loved the dynamic between Hayley and Brian as star-crossed lovers and high school sweethearts. When Mateo arrived in Pine Valley, it took me some time to adjust and accept Hayley with someone else. (I never cared much for Hayley and Charlie Brent, the guy she lost her virginity to—LOL!)
  11. Thanks for the heads up @SFK!
  12. I completely agree with you. Lorraine Broderick did bring many characters back from the dead toward the end to wrap things up, but it worked. She managed to re-balance the show in its final months, making it more enjoyable. For once, I didn’t feel like vomiting every time the “fab four” – Greenlee, Ryan, Kendall, and Zach – were on screen. Broderick created a better balance among all the characters.
  13. All this Rebecca Budig talk has me remembering an article (pretty sure it was in Soap Opera Digest) for All My Children's 40th anniversary. They asked Agnes Nixon to name her top 5 AMC characters, and one of them was Greenlee. I was like, "Wait, what?" I know Agnes created the character, but by then, Greenlee was so overexposed and retconned. It felt like Brian Frons must’ve forced poor Agnes to say Greenlee at gunpoint or something! Does anyone else remember this article? I'd love to re-read it!
  14. Happy Birthday, Susan! You've been on Santa's nice list all year. Wishing you all the joy and surprises you’re hoping for!
  15. Oh my, another post on Lipstick Alley mentioned that Frons and Rebecca Budig dated briefly. So gross. Now it all make sense. To be honest, I never understood the hype around Rebecca Budig throughout her entire run, even with her brief absences. Her acting never resonated with me—it felt underwhelming. Sure, she plays a good "mean girl," but so do countless other actresses. When her character was retconned to be Jack's daughter, it only made me dislike Rebecca's acting even more.
  16. Wow. Thanks for sharing the Greenleetea@NothinButAttitude
  17. She looks amazing as always! https://www.instagram.com/p/DDjCGrhs5HP/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
  18. Wisner Washam is probably the best head writer All My Children had whose name wasn't Agnes or Lorraine.
  19. Kelly, Mark, and Ben Stiller reminisce about Ben's mom Anne Meara who played Peggy Moody on All My Children.
  20. I love that they added Lorraine Broderick. Should be a fun conversation.
