Didn't they do an episode on Ray Parker, Jr.? I seem to recall him talking about how Leo Sayer took songwriting credit for "You Make Me Feel Like Dancing" even though Ray actually wrote it. (Of course, given what happened later regarding the "Ghostbusters" theme, perhaps Ray isn't being completely honest?) Knowing that upsets me, if only b/c Richard Perry, who produced "Dancing" along with the rest of Sayer's album, Endless Flight, happens to be my all-time fave music producer.

I applauded Freddie Jackson for basically saying his sexuality was nobody's damned business.

Yeah, but her commentary on some of her videos was just too damn much. Hell to the yes!!! UnSung and TV One need to get on that STAT!

Con Funk Shun's episode made the band's music seem much hotter than it actually was.

Re: The Marvelettes -- Instead of "erasing" each departing member's face and body from the group photo, they should have used red X's instead. Believe me, it would have been so much kinder.
  6. They are plenty of good clips available, though. A good place to start is with "the10mann," who has posted many of the classic, most-talked-about stuff.
  7. Full episodes or just clips?
  8. I hate whenever they call KNOTS "the original 'Desperate Housewives'." KNOTS was so much better than that.
  9. And here he is today: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001599/
  10. It's possible she admired him as an actor, but not so much as a person and colleague.
  11. I don't know, Pine Charles. I think there was a place both for Cecily and for Laurel, especially after what the latter became. IMO, if anyone was not essential to ALL MY CHILDREN at that time, it was Janet. I don't care if she was being played by Robin Mattson. Beverlee McKinsey could have played Janet, and I'd still question making Janet from Another Planet a permanent fixture in Pine Valley.
  12. Considering we are talking about Megan McTavish, I shudder to think what those plans might have been.
  13. To this day, I think AMC's writers paired up Charlie with Cecily because they were ready to dump the both of them and didn't know what else to do with them. Honestly.
  14. And to think, Charlie ended up married to Cecily. SMH.
  15. Although I think those images superimposed over the aerial shot of Manhattan makes it seem as if NYC is having a city-wide flashback, I like the understated quality of the first promo very much.
  16. I love the whole Gothic tone of it.
  17. I am so glad you have been enjoying watching old clips of GUIDING LIGHT, Vee. No lie.
  18. I'm glad y'all are recapping all the latest PP-related developments on the tribute threads. That information gets lost sometimes in the Jacobean revenge play that is the "official" thread.
  19. That was Antony Ponzini (sp?), who portrayed Vinnie Wolek.
  20. Kathleen Turner hamming it up over cutting into a cake with a very large knife. A sign of troubled times to come?
  21. She had to be prepared in case there were paparazzi waiting outside the courtroom.
  22. Yeah, Sean just stopped appearing one day, didn't he? He must've hooked up with Kevin Sheffield.
  23. Speaking of the Montgomerys, when Bianca, Kendall and Zach were having all that drama over Bianca and Zach conceiving a child behind Kendall's back, did Erica mention the circumstances behind Sean's conception? If nothing else, Erica would understand the pain that Kendall must've felt. But that was during Charles Pratt, so I wouldn't be surprised to learn it wasn't discussed.
  24. No, you're right, Dale. Both those events happened. I was referring to the first (meaning, 1968/1969) story. According to Soap Opera Weekly, Agnes Nixon wrote that Viki created "Niki" in order to deal with the trauma of her mother's death (and again, for the record, I agree that that was fairly lame). However, I give credit to Michael Malone for including that incident in his version of events. Aside from Victor's abuse and Tori's murdering him, he didn't create new-and-heretofore-unknown backstory like I think Sam Hall and Peggy O'Shea did in the '85 story. Neither do I. To me, that was just stupid, plain and simple.
  25. No, you're right, Vee. I agree completely. If only because I don't want another retcon that would make the story even more complicated than it is already. I don't like the now-official explanation, but I'd rather just leave like it is.
