I am SO damn happy I "cut the cord." Watching live TV on Sling means Mama Khan and I can avoid that mess they call Sean Hannity.

Me neither. Fallon is too much like a puppy-dog, too eager to perform for everyone and make everybody happy. You don't need THAT kind of personality anchoring a juggernaut show like TTS. Could it be this Al Green instead?

I'm sure Fallon's career will survive The Muss Seen 'Round the World. But I don't think I could ever watch TTS again so long as he remains there. I still think impeachment and/or resignation is some ways away, but...yep, it looks as if we're on the road to that point.

Trey Gowdy, eh? Just what TrumpCo. needs: another pasty-looking white dude with terrible hair.

Regardless, the Vox article makes a convincing argument for not reading too much into the man's temperament. The thing is, Trump isn't the first unintelligent narcissist to hold the highest office in the land, nor is he the first to surround himself with those of equal and/or lesser intelligence. So why does it feel as if the damage he HAS done and will continue to do will cause more harm to us in the long run? I tell ya, if anything proves to be the "silver bullet," it'll probably be something so minor in comparison to all the other craziness; something that, under other circumstances, no one would have ever given a second thought to. And everyone will be standing around and thinking, "You mean, THAT's what it took to impeach/remove his orange behind?!"

Of COURSE Little Jimmy Comey wants to testify in public. I'd be shocked if he did anything without a camera or several nearby.

You know, a Brechtian type of playwright might look upon the events that led up to Nixon's resignation, discover the similarities between then and now, and then write a really awesome play about Watergate that makes some damning and ironic statements about these crazy times we're living in. Wherefore art thou, Tony Kushner? LMAO.

ICAM. Frankly, it doesn't matter to me anymore whether Comey's actions had an effect on the election. It's all blood under the old bridge. But you can't tell me he did what he did strictly in the interest of pursuing justice. As dragonflies says upthread, the timing was just too coincidental. And I'd have to agree. If only because very little of the [!@#$%^&*] refuses to die in the press or the court of public opinions.

Yeah, I think y'all were right: the rest of the world took one look at the [!@#$%^&*] going down here and said, "Nah, we're good."

It just sucks to think so many people out there (like dragonflies) now have to cross their fingers and pray when they're already going through so much. But you're right, we shouldn't give up hope.

I just remembered your ongoing health concerns and -- my God -- you (and others like you) are truly in a terrible spot now. My heart goes out to you, dragonflies.

I was JUST going to say the same thing, lol. You know, it's funny. People are CLEARLY upset with Obama for reasons that have everything to do with skin pigmentation; and yet, from what I've been told (and, I think, have mentioned here before), your racial or ethnic identity is defined by your mother. So, technically, Obama isn't REALLY our first Black president, because his mother was White, which makes him the same. I mean, you'd think some on the right would mention that as a way to de-legitimize him and his legacy, even at the risk of having others laugh that assertion right out of the proverbial courtroom of public opinion, but I guess not.

Same. Besides, Trump, as...mediocre as he is, is just part of the problem. There are a VP and about a thousand congressmen who need to be removed as well. Okay. So maybe Mike Pence isn't in the closet (although I still have my doubts). But take my word for it: that man is hiding something.

IDK why, but I just felt insulted to see Craig regress as a human being after all the efforts the show had made post-Steve/Betsy/Craig triangle to rehabilitate him. I don't watch soaps to see characters regress or remain as they were for years and years. I watch to see them evolve as we all do.
