Ain't that the damn truth. And I, for one, am getting sick and tired of seeing the Democrats sacrifice their strongest allies and playing right into the GOP's hands in the process. Even the Bible preaches that all sins, once forgiven, are tossed into the Sea of Forgetfulness. What the hell is the Left's problem!? All the arguing did was make me want to watch the episode of "Good Times" where Michael Evans, a.k.a. The Militant Midget, refused to be bused to an all-white school in Rogers Park.

I. Told. Y'all. So. And now, our deep hurting (tm MST3K) spreads across the pond, all the way to the UK. A pox is upon both our houses, folks, and it ain't pretty.

Well, I want to be clear as well: not for one second do I buy that these women were harassed in any way by Al Franken. I believe the GOP, in conjunction with Fox News (who had their own axe to grind against Franken, apparently), successfully executed a hit on that man's political career, using the most nebulous allegations possible, because they saw him as a legitimate threat to their and the Trump administration's agendas; and they knew that the purity-seeking assholes within the Democratic Party would be gullible enough to take the bait, too. When it comes to sexual harassment and other allegations, I always err on the side of believing the women -- but not in this case. Either the women involved lied outright, or took otherwise innocuous incidents and blew them so out of proportion that no one, and I mean no one, can recognize them. And that's all I have to say on the matter -- except, I do want to highlight this quote from Eli Attie: “The comedy world is very different from politics. In writers’ rooms, they try to be loose. They say outrageous, unfiltered things. In politics, you try to censor yourself. You’re always fearful you’ll offend. You have to play error-free ball.” Folks need to remember this the next time someone who is not being paid to be funny says something obnoxious and then cries satire or freedom of speech. Never mind, of course, that more of Kavanaugh's accusers went public with their allegations than did Franken's, or that their depictions of events sound more concrete than do Tweeden's and Franken's other, alleged victims', whose accounts come off as so ambiguous as to be laughable. I hate the GOP so damn much, lol.

Unfortunately, humans never choose the hard truth over the easy lie. That's why, even today, we still have people insisting (among other things) that Oswald had help in killing Kennedy, or that the moon landing was a NASA-perpetrated hoax in order to beat the Russians in the Space Race. Progress and enlightenment have always been made by dragging people toward it, kicking and screaming every step of the way.

Frankly, I'm tired even of the few, rare moments of lip service that they (meaning, of course, Trump, his minions, and the GOP in general) pay the rest of us. It always comes across half-hearted and insincere, so why bother anymore? Just call a spade a spade (no pun intended?). It's not as if their voters would care anyway, or that they'll listen to us when we tell 'em it's racist, misogynistic or xenophobic. Just cut the crap, as Y&R's late Kay Chancellor once said, and stop hiding behind masks y'all were never good at hiding behind in the first damn place. Sigh. Same here. Or how they act as if the GOP gives a damn about anyone's concerns other than their own. Or believe that the WWC who voted for them and keep voting for them have to be won over to the other side. This "we go high" garbage has to stop, and now.

I wouldn't have bothered even talking to the man. We know he listens only to the sound of his own voice.

Mind you, I'm not laughing at the workers. They deserve to be paid $15/hr. (and more) for their labors. I'm laughing at Bernie's blatant hypocrisy.

At this point, I don't think Trump would care whether Melania were sent back home. He got what he wanted out of the relationship: another (male) heir to his so-called throne.

I want to commend President Trump and Fox News for achieving the impossible. Together, they have convinced my mother, an African-American who once marched with Clara Luper, that his tweets from last weekend were not the least bit racist. Bravo, gentlemen, and well played.

It's funny how Trump has supposedly made an enemy out of CNN; yet, if you ask me, I think Trump has been helped enormously by the network -- more so than even Fox News, on some levels.

His breed is certainly vanishing among the judicial branches of our government. May he RIP. I agree. But I don't think the divisions that continue to eat away at us will subside peacefully either. Sometimes I wonder whether we are more divided now than we were at the start of the Civil War. I really do. Meanwhile, does anyone else suspect Trump will dismiss the Apollo 11 landing as a hoax? The 50th anniversary is in a few days, and I just have that feeling that, at the very least, he's bound to make some disparaging remarks about the astronauts, the landing, NASA. He can't let one day pass without saying something that'll piss off half the country.

The events that have unfolded today on the House floor have me shaken. I'm just so worried that the hateful, racist rhetoric that has engulfed this country since that man took office will culminate one day in literal bloodshed.
