  1. Frankly, I don't think either had chemistry with the man. I thought PMV's Ryan would've been a much better match for Sandra Ferguson's Amanda or Alice Barrett's Frankie.
  2. CAPITOL encountered a similar problem when they premiered. Creators Stephen and Elinor Karpf had developed a very strong premise, filled with intriguing characters, backstories, and plotlines. However, it was clear almost from the beginning that they weren't really cut out to head-write their own creation. (Plus, it seems there were BTS issues with their producer, John Conboy). Eventually, though, the Karpfs were replaced with the Corringtons, who themselves were replaced with Peggy O'Shea.
  3. If that's true, then I'm glad KS was successful in his efforts to quash it. Scotty has enough proverbial dirt on his hands from his actions in the ridiculous "Secret in the Attic" storyline with Rick Webber. Hitting a woman would have been the final nail in his coffin. Same. DAYS has worked that trope into the ground, never realizing that the Salem Stranger was a lightning-in-a-bottle situation. Years ago, I read that AMC had planned to introduce a long-lost child for Erica BEFORE Kendall Hart; and that, for whatever reason, they nixed it. Also, when GL's Quinton McCord (Chamberlain) was first introduced, there were several conversations between himself and Mrs. Violet Renfield, who was in charge of his household, about meeting with "The Great Man" on some nefarious activity. Allegedly, "The Great Man" was supposed to be Alan Spaulding. However, plans changed after Michael Tylo, who played Quint, proved to have chemistry with Lisa Brown, who played Nola Reardon, the town troublemaker (she had lied about being pregnant with Kelly Nelson's baby in order to keep him from marrying Morgan Richards), who had gotten a job on his estate.
  4. And all because Trump couldn't stand that the narrative was focused so much on the impeachment inquiries. It's frightening how so much of our direction depends entirely on his fragile-as-hell ego.
  5. LOL!! I might be forced to do that, @DramatistDreamer.
  6. I guess Silver's just another one (like Mark Zuckerberg) who isn't afraid anymore to let everyone know where he stands. Yup. https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/europe/eu-pushes-brexit-until-end-of-january-british-prime-minister-johnsons-request/2019/10/28/c53839cc-f967-11e9-9534-e0dbcc9f5683_story.html From the article: Ambassadors from the 27 remaining E.U. members agreed Monday to postpone the departure date until the end of January, although Britain could still leave earlier if Parliament ratifies the separation deal ahead of time. And now, Boris Johnson appears poised for a general election -- possibly by early December.
  7. I wish there were an alternative to Facebook. I'd love to shut down my account there, but it's the only way I keep up with the few, former classmates I still tolerate.
  8. Did Trump almost botch the mission? And why should we pat him on the back when 1) he wouldn't do the same for Obama after Osama bin Laden's death and 2) he gave Russia the heads-up about going after Baghdadi but NOT any Democrats?
  9. Today on "The NYTimes Doesn't Want Elizabeth Warren To Be The Democratic Nominee": https://www.nytimes.com/2019/10/28/us/politics/elizabeth-warren-corporations.html?action=click&module=Top Stories&pgtype=Homepage
  10. Their...concern is misplaced, past due and completely disingenuous (sp?). Like I said, I don't see the big deal here, but if Americans feel confident enough to chant "LOCK! HIM! UP!" to our leaders, then that's their right. The First Amendment says so.
  11. Perhaps, Emmy Rossum appearing on ATWT is one of the internet-age urban myths that even Emmy herself has bought into.
  12. And that would be wrong, because...?
  13. I just don't see what the big deal is (aside from the beating Trump's ego took) about his getting booed at a baseball game, or about the "LOCK! HIM! UP!" chants. It's not like they threw food at him and Melania, or anything.
  14. I hope poor Florida got her salt and pepper shakers back when he turned up in a later episode as her boss.
  15. IA, @DRW50 and @DramatistDreamer. Buttigieg's sexuality hasn't been what has kept him from gaining any ground with African-Americans -- and as @marceline advised us upthread, don't trust anything the NYTimes tells us about the Democrats. Buttigieg really needs someone in his immediate circle who is OF color, who is sensitive to these issues, and who can best advise the rest of his team how to reach out to POC without making his efforts look like racist pandering. Because, I don't think he's racist, I really don't. I think he is someone who will at least try and listen to us and our concerns, which is more than I could say for anyone under the Trump administration. I just think Buttigieg doesn't quite "get it," if that makes any sense.
  16. Why on Earth would you want anyone to keep boinking that boy? Why would you want anyone to boink him AT ALL?
  17. Oh, FFS, not the Selena Gomez song again!? It's bad enough that it's taken over YT. Must it take over SON as well?
  18. But, here's the thing: you never have to worry about justifying a character's actions if you actually KNOW the character. Just as you never have to wonder whether you're forcing a plot onto characters if you write FROM character.
  19. It's interesting, though, how this (killing Baghdadi) occurs while the House continues their impeachment inquiries. This'll probably be the thing that gets Trump re-elected.
  20. On top of everything else, Donna, you are hopelessly obtuse.
  21. Everytime I download another video on YT, the ad for that damn Selena Gomez song comes up first, lol.
  22. Those bitches were just too basic to appreciate the majesty that was young Alexis. ("Young Alexis," by the way, would make for a KILLER series -- with Dame Joan narrating her character's young adventures, of course.)
  23. When you find that prayer, @antmunoz, please don't hesitate to share with the rest of us!
  24. Same with Buttigieg. POC are a political and personal blindspot to them both -- and if they don't course-correct ASAP, it's gonna HURT them both politically, too.
