  1. It's just what you (or someone else) said: the Berners are so enamored with their outsider/underdog status that, in a way, they don't want their guy to be the nominee. That way, if/when Bernie's shut out again, they can do again what they did in 2016: sit home on election day, vote third party or vote for Trump out of spite. Berners are truly, truly happy to watch as the Republicans burn this country to the very ground.
  2. Gurl. I quote that All. The. Time. Seriously, Michael G. Moye would have been wonderful a script writer for the soaps. He wrote so many good, dramatic, theatrical episodes for GT and "The Jeffersons."
  3. I'm sure Trump wishes he had gotten ahold of the tape before Lev Parnas and his attorney had leaked it to the press. Meanwhile, do we know whether NPR's Mary Louise Kelly was alone in that room with Mike Pompeo? Because, if she was, then I think she took a HUGE risk. I would not put it past him (or anyone else from the Trump administration) to have attacked and/or molested a woman if given the opportunity. https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-news/pompeo-trump-defund-npr-943197/ Yet, if you were to ask me what day of the week it is, or whether *I* could find Ukraine on a map, I would come up less than short.
  4. Nah, it was to Penny's biological mother, who had made Willona look like she and her new bf (whom Ms. Gordon had hired to romance Willona) were hosting the mother of all drag parties, in order to regain custody of her daughter. (Damn, writer Michael G. Moye should've worked on the soaps, lol.)
  5. As the great Willona Woods ("that's 'Woods,' with two o's!") would say: "That's you! ON TAPE!" https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2020/01/25/trump-yovanovitch-video/
  6. Are you sure that's Suzette Charles? Because, to me, the woman in the photo looks an awful lot like Vanessa Williams.
  7. Not Julie! She once expressed to "Princess Gina" exactly how I felt about Stefano DiMera; and I believe that woman would have fought him to the depths of hell and back to protect her family.
  8. Donald Trump has never grown up from being the schoolyard bully; and sadly, he never will.
  9. Thank the Lord she was replaced with Cady McClain.
  10. Same!
  11. Agree with you both. Obama is many things. Stupid is not one of them.
  12. I'm waiting for the "Lifetime miniseries event," which I'm sure will be announced any day now.
  13. So, that's why I've been dreaming so much about "Cagney & Lacey" lately. RIP Mr. Karlen.
  14. Excellent point!
  15. Same. The fact that we STILL won't seriously consider abolishing it proves how lightly we're still taking everything.
  16. In a way, I feel the Boomers deserve nothing less. After all, they're largely responsible for installing this person in the WH: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/01/22/us/politics/medicare-trump.html?fbclid=IwAR1iifuiwCdE9_FwV8VSl1DP-nn8M8hLzTLtYx9kbz7-KpRLKy9p7XVnIJ4
  17. True. Definitely true. And you are right, @ReddFoxx, when you say his likability among colleagues and such needs to be highlighted. But, guess what? That isn't what's happening. Instead of using this opportunity to examine fully whether Bernie is fit to be president in this aspect, they're reminding folks one more time that Hillary is a loud-mouthed c**t and she needs to die. Otherwise, this isn't going to hurt Bernie in any way until or if he becomes the actual nominee; and then, the press will spin Hillary's remarks against him in a way to keep him from being elected. That way, the Bernie bros and everyone else can go on blaming her for Trump getting re-elected (even though she isn't running again).
  18. LOL! Thank you, @DramatistDreamer! Under these circumstances, I needed the laugh! (And you're absolutely right.) I feel like many Americans have never forgiven her for those "I'm no Tammy Wynette!" cracks she made in that "60 Minutes" piece way the hell back in '92 (or whenever), even though she has apologized since then; nor have they forgiven Bill for lying about the nature of his relationship with Monica Lewinsky and neither being removed nor resigning from office (despite the fact that ANY married man would have done the exact same thing under the exact same circumstances). @DRW50's right. We can't leave the '90's (or even the '80's) behind. Ever.
  19. Linda Ronstadt said it best: "If you're in this business for the awards, you're in trouble."
  20. Me neither. If I were Hillary, I would be like, "If you just INSIST on always making me the villain of the story....". Hey, speaking of the vilification of Hillary Clinton: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/tulsi-gabbard-hillary-clinton-defamation-lawsuit-50-million-russian-asset-comment/ You know, the problem isn't that the Clintons stay in the headlines. It's that others keep them there. If I didn't know that before, I certainly know that now. What purpose does it serve (besides to keep Tulsi's name on everyone's lips as we head into primary season) to dredge up Hillary's remarks and sue her over them? For that matter, why must the press bring up remarks Hillary made about Bernie in some documentary about the last election, as if she made them only yesterday? Especially when we have other, proverbial fish -- namely, the impeachment trial -- to fry? Neither Hillary nor Bill are running for office in 2020, nor have they been in actual power since she stepped down as Secretary of State. Yet, between Tulsi Gabbard, the "mainstream" press and the Republicans' constant invoking of their names like curse words, I'm worried the 2020 election is gonna turn into one more referendum against them. I'm not defending or disparaging the Clintons, by the way. I'm just saying, why can't everyone else move the hell on?
  21. It's sad to look at (and think about) all the wonderful talent that was taken from us last year. Thanks, @DaytimeFan.
  22. The nineties. We were all so young and innocent back then. I miss them so.
  23. There's probably both Democrats and Republicans who wish the Clintons would stay out of the election altogether.
  24. Frankly, I'm starting to think it never will. Or, if it does, it'll be right as Trump finally heads for the exit door, after the 2024 election. (Provided, of course, Trump isn't allowed to run for a third term). Then, if a Democrat succeeds as president, he or she will be unfairly blamed for the economic collapse. Just. Like. Obama.
  25. I don't think the GOP will have much of a choice. You see, that's the problem when you unleash the monster you create. Eventually, the monster grows too powerful even for you to stop him. Unless, of course, you kill him -- and don't think for one second that the GOP wouldn't at least consider the possibility (behind closed doors, of course) of orchestrating a hit on Trump should he ever turn his base against them. Well, I'm disappointed. I'm not surprised, but I'm disappointed. America is so f**ked. OMG, I really hope this does not come to pass -- because, even if they were to make the trade, I believe the GOP would renege; and all we'd get from this deal is bad testimony from Joe and/or Hunter Biden that would effectively knock Biden out of the election. This is a trap, and the Democrats are prime to step right into it. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/senate-democrats-privately-mull-biden-for-bolton-trade-in-impeachment-trial/2020/01/21/e73b971a-3c71-11ea-baca-eb7ace0a3455_story.html Oh, and the Senate has rejected issuing a subpoena to Mick Mulvaney. I repeat: America is f**ked.
