  1. Yes, and the statement was, "White Power!".
  2. Of course, Bernie wants to contest the IA caucus results, which has Buttigieg as the winner. https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2020/2/9/21125703/iowa-caucuses-2020-final-results-pete-buttigieg-wins You know, it's a shame Trump didn't ask Bernie to be his VP. "Birds of a feather," and all that.
  3. And yet, despite all those wins for "Parasite," all the acting wins went to white people.
  4. Which made no sense either. Seriously, that was some truly awful writing on display. In fact, was it really writing, or was it just SNL blowing LGBTQ dog-whistles?
  5. "I'm sorry, I'm not following." Neither am I, White Dude Who Looks Like Reginald On GH. And like him, I bailed around the 1:30 mark. Seriously, WTF was that!?
  6. Agree. It really wreaked havoc on the storytelling, too. Like one interviewer said, the threads were really starting to show when, in one episode, the only regular characters featured were Greg, Anne and Karen.
  7. Agree. Barring any major spoilers -- *cough*Bloomberg*cough* -- I now expect the nomination to be between Buttigieg and Sanders. I realize we've had just the Iowa caucuses, but most strategists I've read agree that Biden's fourth-place finish there is NOT promising. Ironically, I took a WaPo quiz and discovered Bernie, of ALL people, is the candidate I'm most aligned with ideologically. Nevertheless, I'm really, REALLY reluctant to put my support behind him unless I just have to.
  8. Well, that's what happens when you have no budget.
  9. I figured that was due to Tim Scott and Ben Carson's endorsements. As proud as I am of my African-American heritage, it still annoys me to no end how "my peeps" will listen to any n***a with a college degree.
  10. Or, the hunky stableboy Lucinda AND Lily had fun with.
  11. Listen up, my fellow African-Americans: if you even THINK about falling for whatever jive this turkey has up his sleeve to try and win us over to his dark side, I will personally round up your Black cards, set them all on fire and make YOU pay for the lighter fluid and the matches. You have been warned. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/02/08/us/politics/trump-reelection-campaign.html?action=click&module=Top Stories&pgtype=Homepage
  12. Her argument/defense was pretty weak, too, from what I remember. "Man should not lie down with man," or whatever. Okay, but...what does that have to do with income equality, or seeing to it that everyone has access to affordable, quality healthcare? If Trump ever gave a damn about those things (and more), I would've been in his corner, regardless of his tweets, because I actually believe it's how you lead this country and NOT how you conduct your personal life that matters. Like Bill Maher once said, Clinton might've been getting BJ's from gov't clerks, but he was still gettin' s**t done!
  13. Not at the rock she lives under! But seriously. How do you NOT know Pete Buttigieg is gay (and married to another man)? I mean, I'm pretty sure the news and the Internet exist even in Iowa! Something tells me, though, the woman KNEW he was gay, but she was afraid her Bible-thumping circle would see her on TV and judge her for supporting a "God-hating socialist faggot" for president. So, in order to avoid being ostracized, she just played dumb (which wasn't much of a stretch for her to play, I'll admit). Honestly, I do not care whether our next president is gay or straight, male or female, white or non-white. For all I care, it can be the Geico gecko. I just want to see Donald Trump GONE from the WH.
  14. In the sixth grade, I wrote my very first research paper on (believe it or not) Irna Phillips. As part of my research on Irna and her shows, I came across Marland's photo. Let's just say my gaydar pinged on the man before I even knew what gaydar was.
  15. Agree. I think Warren is an intelligent woman, who would be an asset to any president's cabinet. But, I don't believe she has what it would take as a leader to stand up to adversarial forces without blundering in the process. (She never should've swallowed Trump's DNA bait.) I think if Biden had ignored Obama's advice and run four years ago, he would've had a better time at running for president. As it is, he COULD be a great leader, but the more I look into this stuff, the more I realize he is simply a terrible campaigner. His prior two runs virtually stalled at the gate, and I'm afraid this one has as well. I don't know whether it's due to bad advice from his staff, a sense of entitlement on his part, a lack of bloodthirst, all three or something else, but the dude is TERRIBLE at this. Which is terrible to think about, because I believe Biden's our best chance of forming the right coalition of voters to defeat Trump. The other candidates are simply too polarizing, IMO. Bloomberg's looking better and better to me by the minute, lol.
  16. Well, you know things are bad when even Boris Johnson is on Trump's s**t list. https://www.yahoo.com/news/trump-losing-support-united-states-130000660.html (Have the rats begun to eat each other?)
  17. For sure, if the NYT was serious in their endorsements of Klobuchar and Warren, then Klobuchar needs to stay alive in the race, as I believe Warren's decline to be irreversible at this point. Otherwise, they'll look like morons for choosing two candidates who were picked off in the primaries by the likes of cult leader Bernie and Opie Buttigieg. Of course, I'm still not convinced the NYT didn't employ a bit of reverse psychology on the public in order to get the candidate they really wanted. But, that's just me. Like I said before, if many of y'all had to hold your noses in order to vote for Hillary, I can only imagine what we'll have to hold in order to vote for Bernie (or Buttigieg, or Biden, or Klobuchar or Warren). Just today, I was reading about the mom who let her child die of the flu (at least, I think it was flu), because of all the anti-vaxxers on Facebook telling her what to do instead of getting that child Tamiflu. "Give him peppermint oil and a potato in a sock instead!" Peppermint oil and a potato in a sock!? It's the 21st century, and even with all the technology and information available, it still feels like we've rolled back the calendar to the Dark Ages!
  18. I did, too. But, I always chalked it up to the fact that Marland clearly based Seth on himself.
  19. You know, all of a sudden, there appears to be an uptick in coverage about Bloomberg's campaign. Especially after Biden's disappointing finish in the Iowa caucus. I just wish I had more faith in Bloomberg's ability to grab the nomination. Because, in many ways, he's EXACTLY the kind of candidate I would want to run against Trump.
  20. Not that anyone will lose sleep over the news, but Gordon Sondland has been shown the door as well. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/02/07/us/politics/alexander-vindman-gordon-sondland-fired.html?action=click&module=Top%20Stories&pgtype=Homepage As I had suspected, Vindman's twin brother has been relieved his WH duties, simply because he's Vindman's twin brother. It doesn't get more McCarthyesque than that, ladies and gentlemen. Interesting, too, how we've been accusing Joe Manchin of being in the tank for Trump for the longest time; yet, he actually votes "yes," and suddenly, he's a "puppet" for Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi. I realize we have to "vote blue, no matter who," but Bernie and his cult members do NOT make it easy.
  21. Honestly, it was all I could do not to laugh while reading her quote. "I don't support anyone being punished for blowing the whistle." Well, gal, what did you expect Trump to do? Oh, that's right. You thought he had been properly chastised; and now, humbled and contrite, he'll ask to award all the whistleblowers, including Vindman, the Medal of Honor! Sigh. I wish Sen. Collins would take a page from her colleague, Mitch McConnell's, book and stop pretending to care. Acting as if events such as this matter to her only makes her look false as hell.
  22. Yeah, I'm getting the same message. Okay, I get escorting Vindman from the WH -- it's a travesty, but I get it -- but why his twin brother? What did HE do? My "favorite" part of the NYT article: At least one Republican joined the protest. Senator Susan Collins of Maine said witnesses should not be punished for giving the House required testimony. “I obviously am not in favor of any kind of retribution against anyone who came forward with evidence,” she said in Maine, according to the Portland Press Herald. But, remember, Susie: you thought Trump had learned his lesson.
  23. Typical Trump Supporter: "BUT HE'S PUTTING US FIRST FOR A CHANGE!" Unlike Obama, or the Clintons, who have the audacity to tell them that maybe America and Americans aren't the shiznit and that maybe it's time to GET with the times (reduce carbon emissions, stop relying on coal and fossil fuels, start building toward a future based on solar and wind power, etc.) or get left behind.
  24. I've got to hand it to New York. From day one, they've stayed ready to fight the Trump administration. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/02/07/nyregion/global-entry-lawsuit-ny.html
  25. Remember when he and his camp dismissed those issues in 2016 as "identity politics," or whatever; insinuating that it was all exaggerated and distracting from his core message (whatever THAT was)? Now, four years later, we're supposed to believe Bern is sooooooooo woke? Yeah. Right. And how ironic is it that he's talking about this in NH, which is not exactly the most racially or ethnically diverse of states? Like, who you preachin' to, boo, lol? Ugh. That clown.
