GH: August 2024 Discussion Thread
@detroitpiston I've been agreeing with so much of your takes lately. I like reading your recaps. LOL I also thought Kristina would be the one to shoot Jagger and didn't expect Sonny to shoot him. So many cliffhangers to cap off a great week. I hope Drew/Willow's affair will be exposed in a big public way in late October/early November - I can see that being a way how Drew loses the election. Just a reminder, if you're posting about stuff from the past that doesn't really have to do with anything that's happening now, please use the Classic GH thread. It's just cluttering up this thread.

Maybe it's because I've been totally smitten with Kristen Vaganos for these last 3-4 weeks, but I just think she makes every scene more interesting. She looked cute today too. LOL 🥰 Those Dex/Molly scenes were unexpectedly pretty good. Maybe Molly will somehow help Dex with his family issues.

Another solid episode for Kristen Vaganos, Kate Mansi, and NLG! Today's episode was definitely Kristen and Kate's Emmy reel. Loved Molly unloading on Kristina and Alexis. "You didn't love her!" And Kristina breaks down falling the ground, "I did love her!!" So good! I hope Kate submits at Lead and Kristen as Supporting so both of them will have a chance at winning. The Lulu/Maxie, Liz/Laura, Dante/Chase, Ric/Molly, and Alexis/Kristina scenes were great as well. That's three straight weeks now that the show has been on fire. Keep it up CVE/Korte!

I've always thought the majority of the Chris/Dan tenure was fantastic. There was always something happening and there was never one set of characters that dominated the show. They had a good rotation. So I don't think it's a surprise to see the show blazing () hot ever since Chris was first credited. He actually knows how to write excellent tags and knows how important it is to have scenes carry over to the next episode. I'm so happy he's back.

"What did you call me daughter?" Love all the drama that this dead baby is bringing. I'm not anyone's side because I feel for both of them. I don't see Kristina has being "destroyed" at all. I really liked her speech in the church. But I also really Molly blaming Kristina for the death of the baby. Molly vs Kristina is the best thing on soaps right now. Can't wait to watch tomorrow's episode.

@detroitpiston I agree! Today’s episode was excellent - one of the best of the year. There was tension everywhere. From Joss/Trina, Jason/Anna/Sonny, Jason/Anna, Kristina/Molly, Davis Girls/Jagger, Sonny/Ava. Then we had those emotional scenes with The Ashfords. I had tears in my eyes when was TJ telling them the name of his daughter and when Stella had to leave and started to bawl in the hallway. And we had two good cliffhangers with Molly finding the custody papers and Sonny telling that he will save her life instead of killing her. Loving the show right now. It’s so good.

The last two weeks have been better than the entire Korte/Mulcahey's entire tenure. There's so much happening now instead of having people just talk talk talk talk talk talk. The show is soapy again. LOL I liked seeing Brad and Terry today because they don't bother me, and I'm in favour of a large cast/a large supporting cast/a lot of minor characters. It makes the show feel like a big community. I know I'm in the minority when it comes to a large cast size. As for as the credits go, I really just think posting the breakdown writer, script writer and director is necessary. You don't need the creator and HWs because they don't change everyday.

Anyone know the script writer on director for the May 22 episode of Y&R? Is someone able to check on CBS.com or Paramount+ in the States?

You don't often see someone on screen with acne scars - everyone has "perfect" skin. I'm someone who's been cursed with bad skin and it's something that's never going to go away, unfortunately, so when I saw AnnaLynne on screen with those scars, it made me proud of her because I know how insecure one can get and how emotionally draining it can be at times. Thank you, AnnaLynne, for showing your strength by not letting those negative thoughts and feelings get in the way of you pursuing your acting career. Thank you for showing something real about you. It means a lot.

Remember to put spoiler tags when replying to spoilers. But really, there's no reason to post spoilers in a discussion thread when we have spoiler threads in the spoiler forum. Please be more careful next time. Anyway, that Bill/Luna kiss was gross. I thought with Bill not being Luna's father, they were going to set up a Will/Luna/RJ triangle....guess not. I hope CBS gives B&B's timeslot to The Gates. Maybe that will knock some sense into Brad Bell.

2024 Summer Olympics
Jesus Christ, that last shot by Steph Curry! France kept cutting the lead but had too many turnovers late and of course they could not stop the best pure shooter in NBA history. Winning Gold at the Olympics was the only thing Steph hadn't done and now he has.

I agree too. After the debate, I was in the camp of Biden needing to step down. I'm glad he did. It was the right thing to do - something Trump could never do.
