  1. Let's face it, in recent years, DAYS has been hit and miss with Billy Flynn. He's had some good periods and good material, but he's also had LONG periods of next to nothing. I don't blame him at all for leaving.
  2. I cannot believe anyone wants to see Nicole off the show. No one is killing it more than Daphne Duplaix, and you want to kill her off? Just as I'm against recasts at this point, I'm also against killing off major characters because thy can supposedly kickstart a lot of story. Just let these characters do their own kickstarting. I cringed at that. I really can't decide what the writers are going for there. Do they want to remind us of great Civil Rights moments? Or do they want us to see how delusional the Duprees are?
  3. Yeah, Body & Soul did a number on their numbers.
  4. Hate to disappoint you, but that ain't happening. None of it. LOL
  5. Billy Flynn is really good, and this is a major coup for Y&R -- as well as a big loss for DAYS. I'll miss his scenes with Susan Seaforth Hayes. Billy on BTG as Derek (as some have suggested)? No. The character is minor, and I can't see Flynn taking that role.
  6. Yikes. The show already looks like Budget Cuts Central, and I can't imagine it getting any worse. DAYS is almost always in Peacock's Top 10 streaming shows for the day. If that's not enough to save it, I don't know what to say. Honestly, I'd rather see it leave the air than to get any worse.
  7. If Naomi has many more fits like she had today before making up with Jacob, their marriage is headed for trouble. She has blinders on when it comes to "THE DUPREES."
  8. Giovanni Mazza has really come into his own as Gio, and it looks like GH did a good job taking their time with him. He's been really good. The stuff with Emma has been excellent, but GM has also been strong in scenes with Amanda Setton. Eden McCoy has never been able to show warmth and sensitivity as Joss. She can't do it.
  9. Luna gets more support on this show than Hope does.
  10. I agree with you. From day one, Alexa owned that part. It's been a seamless recast.
  11. I howled, too, since Bill is so much taller. You already know hehe. Many of us have talked about the Martin actor being "not so good," but I'm kind of taken with him now. First and foremost, Dat Ass. Secondly, he's got a cadence and vibe unlike anyone else. I'll give it time and I want him around. Sigh. This is hard to argue with. I kind of feel sorry for Jacob being stuck with her. Say it again from the cheap seats in the back! I will keep repeating it: NO RECASTS. Not this soon. I don't even want to discuss them.
  12. -- I still don't want any recasts. It's too early and I don't want changes this early even for weaker actors. I'd rather see characters written out. -- I'm another one who was disappointed that Ted is also a cheater. I know cheaters are a soap staple, but come on. -- Dani is a whack job, but I enjoy her. -- Anita in that fur cape (or whatever that is) is too much LOL -- Today's show had a few smh moments, but I can deal with those when it's all this entertaining.
  13. -- Can you imagine how we'd feel about Bill if this story started when Hayley and Bill first started flirting with each other then moving on to sex? I think we'd really be trashing Bill. -- Not sure I'm rooting for them after today. Naomi has a blind spot when it comes to her nutjob mother. She could have been ticked at Jacob but still understood. The couch was ridiculous. I'd tell her to sleep on the couch.
  14. -- The Rachel and Ava "fight" ruined the episode for me. Maybe they should have cut that out of the episode, too, because it was ridiculous. I'm done with that old lady Rachel character. -- Someone should tell Melinda how absurd she looks walking around town with that necklace on in the middle of the day.
  15. Good show today, although all the talk about whether Drew can keep the Quartermaine name is beyond ridiculous.
  16. I kind of loved that. I think Bill sneered a couple times when saying "Dupree." At least that points out the Dupree delusion that they're somehow more special than anyone else. I thought I was the only one who remembered HTSAM. What an odd, awkward show that tried so hard to be edgy and sexy and cool. I remember being really angry that NBC canceled Return to Peyton Place (which I thought was good) for that mess. I'm not either, and I'm side-eyeing the whole deal. I'll give them some time, but if they avoid gay guys showing real affection, I'm calling it out bigtime. If they want us to care about this couple -- both as a relationship and as parents -- they need to give us more.
  17. -- That's how I feel. These conversations with a couple sitting at a table for the entire episode are deadly and maddening. They're so low energy it's pathetic. Even the Victor/Claire conversation was a waste. We got multiple scenes of Claire putting up her argument for seeing Kyle, and Victor seems amenable. It ends, though, with Victor making comments and faces that tell us nothing has changed for him. So what was it all for? Why make us sit through that? Likewise, an episode-long conversation between Adam and Chelsea about their relationship is boring. There's no reason to care about them. Ditto for Billy and Sally. Why should I care that they're in love? -- I know I'm a broken record, but the sets problem on Y&R is enormous. Creating a beautiful new set like Billy's house (and I do think it's great) is not enough. Moving characters from the GCAC to Society to Crimson Lights and back to Society and then to the GCAC is just awful, and it takes me out of many scenes. -- Josh Griffith apparently thinks talking about a new set (the Abbott mansion redo) is a storyline. It isn't. I think Ian is the kidnapper of Sharon and Phyllis, too. Why? He is the obvious answer, and Josh Griffith is so bad at his job that he thinks we'll be shocked at the obvious perp.
  18. -- Very much enjoyed and appreciate the comments by Ms. Veleka. Lots of praise there, but also plenty of things that could be better. Very fair. -- I'm fine with these monthly threads. It ain't broke, so don't fix it. Daily threads would be a disaster, and there's no reason BTG posters need weekly guardrails to find their place.
  19. Yep, the orgasms in that scene are LOL stuff. And how about Daphne Rose messing up that accent on Day One? LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
  20. Fully agree about the expository stuff. That's clunky no matter how it's written, even if it is necessary in the beginning. I hope we're through that for the most part. Re: the "you are a wonderful person" thing....I can do without so many references to "The Duprees will always rise" and "No one does that to the Duprees" and "There's nothing like being a Dupree." I wish I knew we were supposed to side-eye those statements, but I wonder if we're just supposed to nod in agreement. Sorry, Duprees, beneath all your money and your history, you're as big a mess as any other dysfunctional family. If I'm rolling my eyes at Y&R dialogue like this about the Newmans and the Abbotts, and about the Forresters on BOLD, I'm going to roll my eyes at the Duprees on BTG.
  21. Luna works as a psycho bad girl. These scenes with her crying -- every damn day -- over her new father? No. Just no. Those crying faces she makes -- every damn day -- are too much. They'd better get back to Luna creating havoc for everyone around her. On a show with many bizarre characters over the years, no one has that combination of bizarre and annoying that Daphne Rose does. From the day she walked into the room and everyone had an orgasm when they smelled her, it's been a mess. Believing she has some mystical, magical effect on Carter (and others) is laughable. Worst of all? We've never been given any indication why she'd do any of this. Why would someone so influential and powerful be a part of Steffy's plan to take down Carter and Hope? What does she gain? None of it makes sense.
  22. That's why I think the show needs to move slowly on recasts and give these new actors time to improve. With a large cast on a new soap, it's hard enough to follow individual characters and stories without being hit with replacements. I think that would be a huge mistake. I like the character and her wardrobe. She's different from the others in both personality and dress, and I appreciate that.
  23. Thev've been telling us that Pamela (Cady) is Dani's best friend, but that hasn't made any impact. Vanessa has, and most viewers, I think, see her as Dani's BFF. Her personality aligns with Dani's. Honestly, Cady made no impression on me at all. None. I get what you're saying, but I'm OK with it so far, and I understand it. It's miles better than watching Y&R characters move from Society to Crimson Light to the GCAC and then back to Society.
  24. I've been hard on Amanda Setton and those bedroom scenes, but I agree that she was very good on Friday (as was AH). She shines in those types of confrontations. That doesn't erase the mess of those bedroom scenes, though. If GH is willing to accommodate her and dress her in layers and layers of clothes, they need to accommodate her further: stop writing those scenes. Let Chase and Brook Lynn show affection in other ways, in other spaces. When they move to the bedroom, it all gets ridiculous and just plain bad, so stop writing those scenes.
  25. kalbir mentioned "off the charts heat generating romantic chemistry," so that's what I responded to. I do see sexual heat, but not romantic chem. These are two lustful hedonists going at it. I'll be honest about that. I don't like the cuts to commercial that BTG does. I think they're striving for their own singular look, but it doesn't work for me. Usually seems awkward and unfinished.
