  1. Crimson Lights. Unless you live in Gonoa City, how would you EVER know CL is a coffee shop? And sorry, I don't think the neon coffee cup is enough.
  2. That was the worst CGI I have EVER seen in my entire life. This "Peacock Budget" thing is not working. My God. It was so bad it almost took my attention away from Peter Reckell's horrific acting in the Bo & Hope scenes. And the staging/direction of the shooting at the end of the episode could not have been more amateurish. The Bo & Hope montage would have been good with a strong, well-known soundtrack. I know music is (supposedly) ridiculously expensive, but lame music torpedoes a great montage.
  3. Am I missing something? Why is Ned so out of control upset over Valentin not being around as CEO of ELQ? Don't companies continue to run when an exec is out of commission? Just lame writing.
  4. I hate to be mean about actors who've been around for a long time, but Jesus, that mush-mouth line delivery is so damn annoying. Are his dentures loose or what? Have to agree. I thought there was something there when Alex was in the picture and Chad was pining for her. I saw some sexual energy there. But since they've been together, they've been "kinda boring" and worse. I'm just not feeling them at all.
  5. Bold keeps telling us that there's this fire and heat between Deacon and Sheila, but I just don't see it. And Sheila calling him "Daddy" is just pathetic. Can't we just say goodbye to her for a couple years? Elsewhere, Katie JUST STANDS THERE while Bill AGAIN pleads for her to get back with him and dismisses Carter in the process. Jesus, this show is embarrassing.
  6. Something I've noticed regarding "On the next General Hospital" : Whenever Maurice Benard is on the next episode, he gets the final shot in the preview about 90% of the time or more. It's as if GH thinks MB is THE killer draw that'll bring us back tomorrow. That final shot should be of the most exciting vid piece they have, not of Benard.
  7. And now they saddle him with ALS??? Who the hell wants to watch that???
  8. Fully agree. Just goes to show that being "in that age range" is not nearly enough. Robert would not be drawn to anything about Diana. I'd take Robert with Alexis, if only to get her away from the suckhole that is Chase's dad. I know Gregory Harrison is a "big name actor" and that makes Frank thrilled to have him, but his character on GH is not working, and I feel pretty much nothing for him -- not approval, not hate, just apathy.
  9. As others have said, a little of Diane is a lot and enough. For realism, a character like hers should stay single, because she'd clearly be impossible to deal with on a regular basis. Tristan Rogers is in his IDGAF phase, and I think he's telegraphing that Scorpio's relationship with Diane is awful.
  10. Definition of Ridiculous & Not Needed: That musical montage of Steffy and Liam's time together. Jesus take the wheel on this crap. Also pretty ridiculous: Ridge being so upset that he wasn't spending Steffy's birthday with her. Just gagworthy.
  11. I think that's the Peacock budget in action.
  12. Jamey is like Ron -- he gets annoyed with any negative criticism and barks back with something that is an eye-roller. All he's good for, as far as I can tell, is writing bad one-liners for Leo.
  13. Fully agree. Haiduk has some vocal fry that gets on my nerves every time. I really want the character gone if she's going to play her.
  14. I co sign to all of that. I also co sign with Brooke riding the hot waiter.
  15. All true, Paul. It all goes to how "realistic" a soap should be. Well, this is stuff that CAN be written realistically with very little extra work. I know Y&R is cheap and doesn't want to hire extras to play Mrs. Martinez or a PA for Devon, but they can at least drop lines in the script on occasion. It's just ridiculous as it is now. I thought we were in for better times with sets when the GCAC showed up for the gala, but that seems to be over. Yes, the GCAC suites are nice than the tacky ones at the GP, but aside from that, I'm not seeing much. My first clue that we were going to get the same old, same old was when people left the gala and headed to Crimson Lights. I mean, HUH???
  16. He's not. He's not funny at all. Ron and Jamey are writing these bitchy, queeny lines for Leo, and it's not working AT ALL. I think I now know what "Peacock money" means.
  17. So Maxie has a new hair color. Too bad they didn't give her a good cut at the same time, because....not good.
  18. The trouble with Phyllis' awful disguise is that Y&R is not known for soap writing that's in on the joke. If a DAYS character wore a worthless disguise (or another mask), we might roll our eyes or laugh along with it. That doesn't work on Y&R. We just wonder "What were they thinking?" Speaking of soap realism, what about Abby dragging all her suitcases to Devon's penthouse by herself? Devon is a billionaire and she's a multi-millionaire, and she's hauling "all her clothes" (3 whole suitcases) to the suite by herself??? These people are RICH. I don't want to see rich people acting like this.
  19. You've said this how many times now??? We just got done explaining why we say what we say, and you follow up by repeating the SAME COMPLAINT as before. JESUS WEPT. All you do is complain. Don't you ever get tired of complaining? Why do you even watch???
  20. "No offense intended"? LOL Sure. But seriously, you seem bothered by my expecting realism on soaps. Sorry about that. I DON'T expect real life, but I have the right to expect a certain soap standard of realism. I understand dramatic license and "letting things go," but there is a line, and most soap watchers -- and writers -- know it. "It's clear the show could be good." What does that even MEAN? "Getting great buzz"? What buzz is that? I was happy for the Peacock renewal, but all this buzz about how much better the show would look and would be once the "Peacock shows" kicked off is gone. I'm not seeing it. I am seeing the same old problems with pacing, and I still say the Bo & Hope story has been a disaster. Yep to all of that. Hope springs eternal when I watch soaps. I feel the same. And I like reading your posts BECAUSE you're a clown and a smart ass and take ownership of that. We're devoting anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes daily when we watch a soap. I think that gives us all the permission we need to criticize it. I do the same with prime time shows. I LOVE Abbott Elementary to death, but last night, Taraji P. Henson was a fail to me as Janine's mother. Because it's one of my all-time favorite series, should I pretend I enjoyed the episode? Should I keep my mouth shut because so many are falling over themselves to praise Taraji (who was just playing Cookie from "Empire")? No. Sometimes we strongly criticize shows BECAUSE we have such love for them.
  21. I'm more than willing for straight boy Johnny to take a detour for 6 months or so.
  22. Thank you -- I expect realism, too -- or something close to it. I just can't laugh at the awful stuff I see and say "But it's just a soap!" I think viewers who devote their time to these soaps deserve that much, and not to be treated with disrespect and even contempt.
  23. I thought today's episode was really weak....more of the same, more repetition. I am so sick of Hope's long quizzical and confused looks when Brooke questions her about Thomas -- as if she either doesn't understand the question or can't make up her mind. Hope can NEVER just be flat-out honest about anything or anyone. Taylor's giddiness and "this is all so much fun!" attitude when talking to Ridge and Thomas is ridiculous, as are all these "jokes" about Ridge having trouble making choices. And then we AGAIN had to hear Thomas tell us how awesome Taylor is as a mother and as a human being. GAG. The sketch Thomas showed Ridge and Taylor for a new Hope for the Future design looked FAR too detailed and finished, and not like a real world designer's sketch at all. BOLD continues to get the fashion industry stuff all wrong.
