  1. By the time we have another Bill Clinton, it's going to be pretty much too late because by that point our country is going to be in shambles and there is no fixing it. I've also resigned myself to the fact that I'm good as dead and I probably won't be alive in 4 years, depending on how things play out. At this point death is preferable to living out the rest of my life in an authoritarian dictatorship.
  2. Or maybe Sasha somehow ends up becoming a victim of Sidwell's and with her gone Michael won't have to worry about a baby anymore. Better yet Robert and Holly won't have anything to connect them together either. I would be totally fine with Nina getting shipped off to prison for the rest of her life for a murder that Willow committed and no one else would be the wiser. The real truth can just fade into obscurity just like Austin's murder and by the time that it actually comes out, Nina would have already died in prison. Drew and Willow can also move away to Washington, D.C. with her and Michael's kids so that Drew can serve his term as Congressman, never to be seen or heard from again.
  3. I don't know... maybe if Drew had actually ended up developing some real feelings for Nina and shown some genuine remorse for the way that he acted towards her, maybe they could've worked. But there was nothing there that would ever indicate to me that those two were ever going to be truly endgame. Besides, I always had a feeling that Drew was going to eventually choose Willow over Nina anyway, so that point is moot. I actually agree that Nina should've been written off after Michelle Stafford left back in 2019 and they should've wrapped up the daughter reveal right then and there by having Willow find out that Nina was her birth mother and deciding to want absolutely nothing to do with her, prompting a heartbroken and devastated Nina to leave town for good. I actually won't be surprised if Nina gets written out in a year or two, especially since she really doesn't seem to have that much purpose to begin with and she's just eating up precious screen-time. Cynthia Watros would've been better off cast as someone else, but I don't know who else she could've possibly played on GH.
  4. I think he's resigning mainly to save face because he knows that the Liberal Party is pretty much screwed and there's a very good chance that the Conservative Party is going to take over. If that's the case, then maybe Trump won't have to invade Canada because the new government might as well just hand it over to him to annex. Hell, maybe they'll become allies and form a super state to invade Mexico, Greenland and Panama. /s I mean, we're pretty much screwed no matter what we do. There is no point in resisting because the military will destroy us if we even try to protest. Bring on World War Three. Hell, there's a good chance nothing will remain in four years, not even us.
  5. I also have an account on BlueSky and my username on there is PhoenixGirlReviews. It's definitely a lot better than Twitter. I'm never using that stupid site again, especially with that guy being a part of the new incoming administration.
  6. You know, it's funny. I honestly thought that when the news came out that Trump won that I was going to immediately fall into hopelessness and despair, just like I did when he won the last time. I mean, first I was in shock and numb and then eventually I became emotional and started crying in fear but now I'm determined to fight. Like I said the other day I refuse to give up. I can't give up. I have to do whatever I can to survive and to help my friends and family to survive what's coming. I was texting my niece who is away attending college in California and she's panicked and terrified because she's afraid that her future as a young lesbian woman is in serious jeopardy. And that makes me sad. For now I'm going to try to enjoy the upcoming holidays and my birthday and focus on what I can control. If worse comes to worse and I end up losing my livelihood and my house, I'm going to ask my brother if I can move in with him in California. My parents can either move in with my sister and her family or they can relocate to Georgia and move in with my brother and his family. As far as the Democratic Party is concerned I do think that they need to start focusing on the economy as a major issue and start trying to convince voters that they can pass legislation that will allow them live on affordable wages and support themselves. Once the economy is in good standing, then they can start turning their attention on social issues again. Now I'm not saying that the social issues aren't important but a large majority of voters seem to be extremely concerned with inflation and the economy as a whole and I feel like that can't be ignored. It sucks but it's the truth.
  7. I'm sorry; I can't imagine how you must be feeling. I'm scared too but at the same time I'm not going to just lay down and die. Damn it I'm going to fight no matter what. I refuse to quit. I don't have any other choice but to fight for the country that I love and I'm going to do everything in my power to make sure that I can protect my loved ones from the hell that's going to await them.
  8. If I could, I would pack up my things and just get the hell out of here. But I can't because I'm an autistic woman living on disability and I can't leave my family behind either, especially my parents and my widowed aunt. Even before this election I had been toying with the possibility of maybe fleeing either to Canada or even the U.K. Maybe I should still consider that option. I just don't know how I'm going to endure another four years of Trump, especially now that he has the Supreme Court AND Congress at his beck and call. I guess I'll just live as a recluse for the next four years and eat my feelings by devouring God knows how much junk food. Good thing I have an event to go to tomorrow and I know I'll be stuffing myself with pizza and Coca Cola and whatever desserts people might've brought. Also I have two associate's degrees and a bachelor's degree but I don't know how good they are going to be now.
  9. I'm really sorry guys. I was hoping against hope that Kamala was going to pull off a win somehow and prove me wrong, but for some reason I just couldn't shake off this nagging feeling that this was going to turn out like 2016.
  10. How the hell are we going to look forward to the midterms when now the Republicans have the chance to implement Project 2025 and we're not only going to have a national abortion ban but gay marriage is also more than likely going to be overturned now and birth control might even get banned now? There is nothing the Democrats can do now; we're basically super screwed at this point. As a matter of fact they are pretty much done as a party. They pushed Joe Biden out of the race and for what? Just to be humiliated by the GOP? What if the new regime passes a series of laws where television shows can't even have POC or gay characters or storylines in movies and T.V. shows anymore? I also won't be surprised if in a few years women won't be allowed to vote or even work outside the home either.
  11. I'll be surprised if we even have a democracy in 4 years. I guess we're about to find out how bad things could potentially get.
  12. So that's it? Trump's actually won? Man... I honestly don't know what I'm going to do if I end up losing my Social Security and Medicare. I have issues with anxiety and depression and I can't work and I'm also disabled. If things get really bad there's a good possibility that I probably won't be living for too much longer. I know my parents won't and they're already getting on in years.
  13. My mom wanted to go to Paris next year for vacation. Well looks like the cruise that she's going on with my father and I in a few weeks is more than likely going to be the very last vacation we're ever going to have as a family. Once the three of us lose our Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid, we won't be able to afford our house anymore and we're probably going to end up on the streets. I'm terrified at the prospect of my aunts and uncles possibly getting deported even though they've been in this country legally for years.
  14. At this point I won't be surprised if by tomorrow night we're going to find out that Trump won the election. I expect the Republicans to take control of both the House and the Senate too. We're going to need to figure out how we're going to survive another Trump presidency.
  15. It's official; she's going to lose.
  16. I still can't believe both Amendments 3 and 4 failed, even though I figured that it was probably a long shot. Are people really that okay with sacrificing hundreds of thousands of women's lives just to save the unborn? I think having the anti-abortion ban being allowed to stand is going to convince more women to forgo relationships entirely and just not have kids period, which is ironic since it was implied in the anti-abortion ballot that if the amendment were to pass that it would spurn women to just not have kids and there would be a birth rate crisis. Ron DeSantis intimidating voters certainly didn't help either.
  17. I don't really think it was the "writer". According to Soap Opera Digest, Gwen is supposed to show up in July, and it's estimated that Ron's material is supposed to continue airing at least into the spring, (around March/April), so for whatever reason, the new writers decided that they wanted to bring Gwen back for a new story, probably something Abigail related. I find it interesting of all of the characters to bring back permanently that Gwen is the one character that the new regime decides to use. In other words, it's business as usual, which really, really sucks. I was hoping that maybe things might start to finally turn a corner and improve but I'm not really getting a good vibe from this new regime at all.
  18. Yes I have. What does that have to do with anything? Okay, so Theresa's going to pop up in March for probably a one-off episode. That doesn't really mean anything. It's more than likely going to revolve around her getting released from Statesville and then she's heading off back to California in order to get her life back in order. She might have one scene max with Tate and that's it. Gwen is the one who's going to stick around long term, which is why her return was announced first. What her story is going to be... I don't know. I guess we'll find out in July.
  19. The one thing that I'm confused by is that apparently there's a shot of Emily O'Brien still wearing that dumb blonde wig in the promo even though it was announced that Gwen is coming back, so maybe it's possible that somewhere down the line that we may be getting scenes of Theresa getting released from prison and when she's out of Statesville, she's going back to California to try to sort out what's left of her life and maybe she might have at least one more scene with Tate and that's it. If she's just getting one or two scenes of her being released from prison and she just goes on her merry way back to California, never to be seen or heard from again, then I don't understand the point of that when an off-screen mention from Shane or Andrew that she got released from prison and she's now back in California would've sufficed. But like I said, if she's getting one more scene with Tate before being written off the canvas for good, then that's fine with me because it did seem really weird that her last scene was her at the police station and her story just ended abruptly and she never really got to say goodbye to her son. At least she'll be getting proper closure at that point, although I don't know why Ron just didn't go ahead and write one final scene with Theresa and Tate when Theresa went off to prison back in August. At any rate, it feels like a pretty big indication to me that Ron is pretty much intent on leaving EOB's version of Theresa behind permanently in the rear view mirror and now he is moving on to the character that he actually wants to focus on and write for - Gwen. It's going to be very interesting to see what her story is going to be when she does show up next year.
  20. How old is Spencer Olson is supposed to be? Because I read somewhere that Julie mentioned Spencer once in the early 90's and he was going to be introduced but that was eventually scrapped. Maybe it's another younger son of Steven's?
  21. Not that I'm not thrilled with this development, but doesn't it seem a bit soon for them to be jumping into marriage? I mean, how long have they actually been dating? Also I hope Days finds a way to keep Andrew and/or Paul on full time. It would be nice to have a kid of Shane and Kim's on canvas that the writers have not completely ruined (yet...)
  22. I get that to some degree she feels guilty that she didn't get to raise her herself and that she testified against her in court; however, Nelle was a psychopath that was a danger and a menace to society. And Nina needs to understand and accept that. (Also I hate that they made out Nelle to be a complete irredeemable psycho and they could have just kept Nelle as a regular schemer and she and Willow could have had a rivalry that would have driven stories for years, and since Nelle was basically being written to be a much younger version of Carly, then maybe Nina could be someone that would help humanize Nelle somewhat and make her not so one note.).
  23. Funny you say that because a lot of people, (probably Sonny/Carly fans), were really upset that Sonny was with Nina and went so far as to claim that not only was he being written out of character because he was acting disloyal to Carly and her kids and Sonny "in character" would never turn his back on HIS family but also Nina was basically grooming and taking advantage of an amnesiac man, which... I think is absolutely ridiculous. I mean, Nina did have her own selfish reasons for doing what she did, but come on now. Personally I think Nina and Sonny were horribly mismatched because Nina is not cut out for the mob life and she's also a big blabbermouth that cannot keep her mouth shut to save her life. Also Sonny will always have some sort of connection to Carly no matter what so Nina was basically screwed no matter what she did. Also I don't get why Nina was so obsessed with Carly to begin with; it's not like Carly is someone to even aspire to and I also find her extremely annoying and aggravating with the way everyone's constantly kissing up to her. Maybe she sees Carly as popular and beloved by the town and she wants that for herself? That's probably the only way that makes any sense to me, and Nina does seem to be the type of person to want so desperately to be loved and accepted by the towns folk. At any rate I'm glad the stupid Granny Wars are over and Nina is no longer preoccupied with Carly and she's mostly minding her own business now.
  24. At least Nina has legitimate reasons for being the way that she is that were established many years ago. She has a history of being emotionally stunted from that two decade long coma she was in thanks to her psycho mother Madeline and she also has had serious mental health issues. Yeah she can be extremely annoying at times but she obviously has some redeeming qualities. I really hated her during the whole Nixon Falls storyline and when she was married to Sonny, she was truly insufferable, but she really doesn't bother me too much these days now. Sometimes I even feel sorry for her, especially with the way Drew treats her like crap. I get the impression that at least one of the current headwriters (Korte) is a big Carly fan and doesn't seem to care too much for Nina. If Nina is going to be on this show at all, then she's better off as a supporting character who lends a supporting ear to her friends and family and who's happily single. At least write for her. It just seems ludicrous to me that she's been played by somebody like Cynthia Watros who obviously has a stellar reputation as an actress and yet she's barely getting written for or having any screen-time. Also the writers have botched the whole Nina/Willow storyline so badly that I just don't care for them as mother and daughter and their relationship just comes off as forced and contrived to me. Hopefully when Willow finds out that Nina has been banging Drew on the side while she was secretly pining over him she decides to wash her hands of her for good and has nothing to do with her ever again.
  25. It's amazing how just a few years ago Nina was eating up so much screentime with the whole relationship with Sonny and her ensuing rivalry with Carly via "the Granny Wars" and now it's like she's pretty much irrelevant and reduced to being a C-level character at best. If I were Cynthia Watros, I would start looking for better career opportunities elsewhere. I won't be surprised if Nina gets written off the show entirely eventually once this whole storyline with Drew/Willow dies down.
