DAYS: March 2024 Discussion Thread
I really don't see Andrew being that supportive of her; as a matter of fact, I won't be surprised if he ends up becoming really pissed at her for making him cover up an actual crime, especially if it results in him losing his ISA job. He might even end up cutting her out of his life for good. The only person that might still be supportive of Theresa is her dad, only because he probably still feels guilty for not being in her life much as a kid. Theresa basically deserves to be completely isolated and shunned by society with no one willing to associate or deal with her. Of course I'm still hoping that she gets shipped off to prison for the next 10 years and she gets the same treatment there that Gabi did and she also eventually dies in prison, never to be seen or heard from ever again.

DAYS: March 2024 Discussion Thread
I hate to say it, but I really don't see Theresa having much of a happy ending after this storyline ends. When she does eventually get exposed, her entire family is going to turn their back on her with certain family members like Andrew, Tate and Brady declaring that they are done with her and want nothing to do with her ever again. I won't be surprised if Theresa ends up relapsing as a result with absolutely no one in her corner and she ends up having a massive overdose and falls into a coma. Her parents then send her off to a high end care facility to California where she would remain for the foreseeable future. I have to think that since the writers have been making such a big deal out of Theresa's sobriety lately and they've gone through all this trouble to retcon her as a hardcore drug addict like Brady that her past history of substance abuse is going to play some kind of role in her story at some point in the end. And with Theresa gone, Emily O'Brien is free to play a character that she's actually comfortable playing again and she can finally get rid of that dumb wig. A win-win. Besides, a large majority of fans don't even like Theresa anyway and I've actually seen a lot of people in many online forums wishing that Gwen would just come back and some people have even gone as far to say that Gwen is actually a much more complex and interesting character than Theresa. I'm not so sure that Theresa has that many story opportunities. All that she's done during this whole stint is being a pathetic and worthless gold-digger and drug addict panting after Alex's money and playing a part-time role of a mom to a teenage son. Besides, the show seems to be a lot more invested in Tate having a relationship with his father Brady anyway, as evidenced by the various interviews given over the last several months. And once she does get exposed, who's going to want anything to do with her when all is said and done? Certainly not Brady, Tate or even Andrew or anyone else in her family. She's just going to relapse back on drugs because that's what she does because she's that weak and pathetic of a person and then she might eventually overdose or even die. I actually think Andrew has a lot more story potential than Theresa and he's ten times more popular and likable than her anyway. If I were the TPTB at Days, I would write out Theresa ASAP and swap her with Andrew. This show really doesn't need her at all.

DAYS: March 2024 Discussion Thread
I don't know if I mentioned this before, but I've been thinking back to that scene the other day where Theresa explained to Tate how she actually ended up getting custody of him and I actually won't be surprised if after she eventually gets exposed that Theresa just decides to leave Tate with Brady indefinitely and just give up all of her parental rights before either heading back to California or going to prison, (or maybe she actually gets shipped off to prison in California for a very long stint). On the very unlikely chance that she somehow sticks around after this storyline with Konstantin and Alex, I'm expecting for Theresa to just slip back into drugs and she just starts using again and gets high all the time while everybody pretty much ignores and shuns her because they're all pissed at her for the whole Alex/Xander situation until the writers either figure out what they want to do next or they just decide to kill her off permanently by having her die of a massive overdose.

GH: March 2024 Discussion Thread
With that mind, what was even the whole point of Nina's arc anyway? I mean for years she's always wanted to find her child and reunite with him/her and yeah, she did eventually find her kid, (or kids, if you want to get technical), but she's never managed to build on a lasting relationship with her. If Nina was supposed to be apeshit crazy, then she should've been a short term character and not last as long as she did. If she was supposed to be a long term character, then she should have at least shown some character growth and actually learned to mature and be a better person, and that really hasn't happened, especially after Nixon Falls. It just feels like a whole massive waste of time to me. It probably would've been better if Nelle was just Nina's kid and she had absolutely nothing to do with Willow. And now I think is a good time for the writers to cut their losses with Nina and have her shipped off to a mental institution for the rest of her life and have nobody mention her ever again.

GH: March 2024 Discussion Thread
I agree; just have her go crazy, kidnap either Sonny or a member of his family and haul her off to a mental institution indefinitely never to be seen ever again. This needs to happen over at least a 6-9 month period. And at least with Nina gone for good, everyone can finally move on with their lives, including Willow. Let's face it - Nina's story was never going to have a happy ending... it was always going to end in tragedy and heartbreak. Them's the breaks.

DAYS: March 2024 Discussion Thread
I'm not so sure about Theresa sticking around on a permanent basis. I still think that she's going to be gone by the end of the summer and we're not going to see her for a very long time, if ever. Let's face it; she's probably going to wind up in prison when all is said and done anyway and if she is going to stick around, she's more than likely going to slide back to drugs and just spend her days doing drugs at the Salem Inn while the entire town turns their back on her and just lets her slowly destroy herself. If Tate doesn't hate her already, he almost certainly will once he finds out what Theresa has been really up to and he's going to turn to Brady for solace and guidance because he obviously cannot trust his mother. You want Theresa to be redeemed? Then let her go to prison for the next 10 years, have her lose Alex, Brady, Tate and basically her entire family and also have her get fired from Bella. It's not enough for her to be simply exposed and humiliated in public. Then when she leaves prison, have her go to therapy and have her confront her demons so that she can finally move on with her life. If I thought that she had any potential as a long term character, recast her with a new face that hasn't been on Days before and that can actually play Theresa as she's supposed to be. Otherwise, just have her recur for family scenes one or two episodes once a year with Jen Lilley in the role and that's it. Nothing else. She's not even popular enough to be a long term character anyway.

ALL: Characters that have outlived their current usefulness
Theresa Donovan on Days and Nina Reeves on GH have definitely outlived their usefulness. Both need to leave their respective shows and never come back on our screens ever again.

DAYS: January 2024 Discussion Thread
How exactly is Theresa reverting back to being a scheming and manipulative gold-digger and a drug addict equals getting decent material for her? All that's proving is that Theresa is a pathetic and worthless character that cannot stand on her own and is better off as a short-term character. If this is all the writers are capable of giving Theresa in terms of story, then she shouldn't be on this show long term anyway. Even the El Fideo story is starting to look good in comparison.

GH: January 2024 Discussion Thread
So when is Sonny going to divorce Nina? He can't possibly be happy about her going after Drew and Carly, can he? If Nina is going to go this dark road as an ubervillain, then why not have Sonny completely sever ties with Nina and move on? Willow too? In fact, I would be more than happy if Nina and Willow never have anything to do with each other ever again.

Personally I just wish that Theresa just decides to move back to California permanently and never come back to Salem for a long while. This is probably going to be a hot take but I really don't think Theresa works as a long term character, and it shows. She should be like Sami and pop in and out occasionally whenever the occasion calls for it. Just have Jen Lilley play Theresa again during those brief visits to the canvas. The less Theresa people see, the better. Just swap her with Andrew and I'm sure that a lot of people would be very happy. Besides, it's not like Tate really needs his mom anyway; he'll be just fine with Brady.

DAYS: January 2024 Discussion Thread
Yeah well, count me as one of the fans that doesn't give two craps about the Brady/Theresa/Alex "triangle" especially since it's pretty obvious that when Theresa's secret implodes, she's not going to ultimately end up with either Brady or Alex because both men are going to want absolutely nothing to do with her. And honestly, Theresa shouldn't be a long term character anyway since a large majority of fans don't even like her anyway and she's better off popping in for occasional visits to see Tate and Andrew, (and not to mention that they've basically ruined her beyond repair in this latest stint anyway). Andrew is the one who should be a long term character since a lot of fans seem to really like him and a lot of people actually want him to be on the show on a permanent basis with Paul. Just let Jen Lilley play Theresa again so that she can pop in whenever she wants to whenever she's not focused on her charity work or making her movies. When Theresa does eventually leave, have her be gone for another 5 to 10 years like she did the last time and maybe have her show up for Holly and Tate's wedding down the line when they're older and also have her pop in for another visit when they welcome their first child. And I also second that motion that Clyde needs to die. I don't even understand why he's back at this point, especially considering all of the egregious and abhorrent things that he's done over the years, not to mention the horrific abuse he subjected Ben and Jordan to. Can somebody, anybody, please kill him?!

DAYS: January 2024 Discussion Thread
I agree; like I said, it's a stupid, lazy cop out. Why even have her go on drugs again after what... an entire decade or so of being sober when it's more than likely going to be a short-lived story? They just as easily could've had her go on a drinking bender like Stephanie did and it would've achieved the same purpose. Damn, these writers really like making Theresa out to be so pathetic and weak, don't they? If it's so easily for Theresa to relapse then I guess it wouldn't surprise me if it turns out that Theresa actually fell back on drugs periodically during Tate's childhood. I mean, the writers are already trying to convince us that Theresa and Brady were using drugs during Tate's childhood anyway...

GH: January 2024 Discussion Thread
I honestly won't be surprised if Trina gets severely back-burned the minute Spencer leaves and basically fades into the background. The writers definitely seem more invested in Dex/Josslyn than Spencer/Trina so I can definitely see them doing a triangle with Adam. Also can the writers stop trying to force a mother-daughter relationship between Nina and Willow at this point? It's pretty obvious that it was bound to blow up the moment these two started "bonding" and I've never really been convinced that Willow was that interested in finding out anything about Nina's family. If I were head-writing the show, I would put an end to the Nina-Willow relationship once and for all and I would also have Nina go full on villain where she goes on a revenge spree against the Corinthos clan and it ends with either Carly, Michael or even Sonny putting an end to her for good. Then the entire town moves on and Nina is never mentioned ever again. Let Willow have Carly as her surrogate mother, because that's who she really wants anyway. Besides, Nina has pretty much run her course as a character and now that she has finally found out what happened to her child, I don't really see much use for her anyway. I also need for Sonny to gradually fall completely out of love with Nina and finalize the divorce by the end of the year, if not by summer's end. If I have to be honest, this long lost daughter storyline should've ended with Nina finding out that Willow was her daughter when Michelle Stafford was still playing her and after Willow rejected her, Nina should have just left town in tears and ran back to Manhattan, never to be seen again. This show would be so much better off without Nina anyway; GH doesn't even need her to begin with. And yeah, it would be nice if we can get rid of Drew, Sonny and Carly too, but that's an entirely different problem at this point.

I don't know... maybe this whole drug thing might be the writers' way of basically giving Theresa an out when the whole Alex paternity comes out so that perhaps she somehow escapes any amount of accountability for what she did and maybe when she does eventually get written off the show, instead of going to prison perhaps she winds up going to rehab in order to get clean and sober. I mean if that happens to be the case then it's a lazy cop out but it wouldn't surprise me at this point.

DAYS: December 2023 Discussion Thread
I totally agree that Brady and Theresa absolutely have no chemistry what-so-whatever and even if they did, (when Jen Lilley was still playing her), they are just so toxic at this point that they shouldn't have anything to do with each other. They can't even get along for their son's sake. How the hell did they even manage to co-parent for all of those years if they can't even stand each other? For God's sake Brady even went to California to spend Christmas with Theresa and Tate a couple of years ago. Maybe Eric wasn't the only reason why he had to leave early... What if they had gotten into an argument that was so ugly and bad that Brady ended up leaving early because he couldn't stand to be with Theresa for another minute longer? Who knows with these writers? I won't be surprised if Tate ends up bringing up this memory to Holly one of these days. Actually, I was just thinking that instead whatever they might be planning with Holly, they can do a depression/mental health story with Tate where he becomes so depressed because he truly believes that his parents don't give two shits about him that he finally reaches his breaking point and attempts suicide via a drug overdose. And maybe that could finally wake up Brady and Theresa and make them realize just how much their toxic dysfunction is really affecting their son. But of course we know these writers are not capable of that. Sometimes I even wonder if Brady even loved Theresa or if he was just that attracted to her and then when things went south he basically turned on her. I really wish that they haven't made Theresa so awful now because I would love for her to move on with anybody that she might have chemistry with and who would actually be good to her and Tate. She and J.J. actually could've worked but of course the writers will never give them a real chance. The writers would rather have Theresa remain stuck in dead end relationships and have Brady continue to berate her and be emotionally and verbally abusive to her. And also I really hate that Brady keeps bad-mouthing J.J. when J.J. actually had more brains than him and he actually succeeded in outsmarting Theresa with his friends when she tried to blackmail him years ago. Sometimes I wonder why I continue to bother with this show.

DAYS: December 2023 Discussion Thread
Hey there, new user here. I just want to say my thoughts about this show. Right now there is really not much I like about the show at all and I'm also pretty much over the whole Eric/Nicole/Sloan storyline. I was basically done with Ericole the minute that Nicole basically manipulated Jada to terminate her pregnancy and that left such a bad taste in my mouth. And also Eric literally abandoning Nicole and Holly to go off on some stupid mission in Africa not even a year after their wedding didn't help matters. And there's a part of me that wishes that Nicole would just stay with E.J. somehow and not go back to Eric the minute this whole baby switch story is over. Also, did I mention how much I hate the name Jude? Bleh! Samuel would've been a better name for the kid. Hell, if they had to have the name Jude, Jude would've been better as a middle name. Also, I'm beyond disappointed at what has transpired with Theresa's most recent return so far. They have pretty much ruined and destroyed what used to be one of my all time favorite characters and I don't really think that there is anything to salvage her at this point. I don't even think Sheri Anderson can salvage her as a character at this point, and she's the writer that's supposedly scabbing right now. I don't know how much the Sheri Anderson thing is true but I don't think it matters regardless. Also if this is really the best that the writers can do with Theresa, then she should be written off the show and just never be brought back ever again. I would even be totally fine with her going to prison for the foreseeable future for all of the crap that she's pulled with Konstantin. I really wish that Days would've just allowed Jen Lilley to film all of the scenes that she wanted to do and give her at least one scene with a SORASed Tate where Theresa decides to go back to California to focus on her burgeoning fashion business, (speaking of which, I really hate that they basically took that away from her), and have Tate stay in Salem in the meantime to spend more time with Brady. That would've been much more preferable to what we're having now. She's just basically a worthless caricature now. I actually think the writers believe that Brady and Tate's relationship is much more important than his relationship with Theresa. They would just rather have Tate be a part of the extended Evans-Black family and nothing else. Who cares about Shane, Kim, and Eve when John, Marlena and the rest of their spawn is all that matters? Then again I'm not too surprised considering the Donovans never got a fair shake on this show anyway. Also I'm pretty sure that if Andrew wasn't gay the writers wouldn't really give a crap about him either. I'm sorry; it's just that the constant fawning over John/Marlena on Twitter gets on my nerves sometimes and after a while it just gets to be too much. Also, I'm appalled that John would even give Xander the time of day after all of the horrible things Xander did to him and his family. He, Marlena and Brady should have smoke for Xander for all time and not have anything to do with him. I really hate that Sarah is now stuck with sharing a child with Xander forever and I find myself wondering how long it will be before Sarah goes ballistic again and she and Xander will once again be on the outs. That's all I have for now. Don't really care for anything else on this show.
