GH: October 2024 Discussion Thread
I would definitely say yes. And they actually have the chemistry and the history to back it up. And it helped that it took Anna a very long time to actually return Valentin's feelings. Sonny/Nina on the other hand was contrived and poorly developed from pretty much day one and it made Sonny and Nina look really stupid, especially Nina. She was in love with a version of Sonny that never even existed. Sonny was never going to be hers and he was always going to leave her no matter what she did. He never even should've given her the time of day especially after what she did to Ava and Avery years ago, let alone allow her anywhere near Avery. Same reason why Nina and Ava should never be friends to begin with and I also find their so-called friendship extremely contrived and not believable. Then again, I think Nina is one of those people that really shouldn't be paired up with anybody because no man in their right mind would ever want to get involved with her and have to deal with her various mental health issues and if any guy finds out that Nina has had a major psychotic break in the past and has also spent time in a mental institution, he would definitely run the other way and who could blame him? The only guy I actually liked with Nina was Valentin but of course he was and still is in love with Anna so that along with his constant lies meant that their relationship was never going to last. Nina works best as a supportive friend and I guess an occasional comic relief and also be a mother figure to Sasha, (I would rather have Willow just cut Nina out of her life for good and not have anything to do with her ever again and also block her from ever seeing her grandkids again so that Nina will finally be free from the Corinthos orbit), and it should stay that way.

I get that sentiment; it doesn't mean it was any good though. Hell, even Sasha had more chemistry with Brando than she does with Cody, and I never even liked Brando with Sasha when Brando, (and Johnny Wactor, God rest his soul), were both still alive. GH really should have had Sasha and Brando ride off into the sunset with their baby boy when they had the chance. Sasha would've been better off in the long run having her happily ever after with Brando and Liam off-screen instead of still languishing on this show when she really doesn't have much of a purpose on the canvas, even with her being the (retconned) long lost daughter of Robert and Holly. Yes, we do need romance on this show; the problem is this show is not promoting the right couples that actually have chemistry and they are shoving chemless and boring couples like Sasha/Cody down our throats. And GH did have two popular couples on the canvas at one point - Vanna and Sprina, (and no I'm not counting Sona because they're only popular on Twitter/X and they aren't really popular anywhere else as far as I can tell), but they are not there anymore.

So GH is really going with Sasha being Holly and Robert's long lost kid? Okay then... thanks for ruining Robert, Holly and Sasha, Frank! I honestly don't know why they went this route when Ethan was right there and actually would've made a lot more sense. This feels like a last ditch effort to make Sasha relevant and it's bombing really bad. I actually find it hilarious that a lot of people are crying and gnashing their teeth on Twitter/X about Sasha/Cody possibly imploding, as if they are somehow this great couple when they have never been particularly interesting together. Part of me is still hoping that Cody gets de-Scorpioed somehow so that Mac won't be saddled with him anymore and he and Sasha can finally ride off into the sunset. Or maybe Sasha can get killed as a result of Sidwell getting revenge on Holly and I would be fine with that too.

Days: Actress Exits
And even more reason why nobody should be hiring Ron Carlivanti to be headlining a soap opera or any show for that matter ever again.

Days: Actress Exits
Yeah, me too. I never want to see or hear any mention of Theresa on this show ever again as long as it continues to air. Hopefully the new writers are smart enough to leave her in the past where she belongs and just not have anything to do with her ever again. Theresa's story should just basically end with her spending the rest of her life in prison with pretty much her entire family abandoning her and wanting nothing to do with her ever again. That's the fate she deserves.

Days: Actress Exits
Can't say I'm too surprised with the way things have turned out. Emily O'Brien was pretty much set up to fail with the horrible way the recast played out and not to mention the horrible writing that pretty much destroyed whatever character development Theresa did manage to have. Also this pretty much proves that recasting Theresa just doesn't really work and Jen Lilley is the only person that can play her. The only reason why Theresa had ANY staying power at all was because of her; a large majority of fans might not really like Theresa very much but at least most people like Jen Lilley, (I know some people don't really care for her because of her religious beliefs and that's fine). At any rate, I don't expect Theresa to come back to the show for a very long time, assuming she even comes back at all.

DAYS: Nancy Returns with Daughter Joy in tow
I highly doubt it. This show really doesn't care enough about him as a character to put him in a meaningful long term pairing. Maybe that might change with the new writers but I highly doubt that's the case at this point in time. Also the fact that she's immediately getting thrown into this god-awful Body & Soul storyline really doesn't bode well for her and I won't be surprised if she ends up being an interloper for Johnny and Chanel. Plus I think J.J. is staying for a very short time anyway and I don't think he's even sticking around long enough to get paired up with anybody. I think the only woman that's actually going to be with Alex long term is Stephanie since Ron seems really determined to make them a thing no matter what.

I'll believe that when both the marijuana and abortion amendments actually pass and go into effect, (and I don't really see either ever seeing the light of day, especially the abortion amendment since Ron DeSantis is more than likely going to block it and prevent it from ever fully going into effect just to be utterly petty and to screw over the voters that actually want the ban to be overturned). I would love to be pleasantly surprised because I actually think the six week ban in Florida is asinine, stupid and dangerous but like I said, I'm not really getting my hopes up. Ron has such a strong chokehold on the state that it's not even funny.

DAYS: Will classic episodes ever be available?
Yeah, this really, really sucks. I was watching some old classic Days clips on Twitter/X that I haven't really seen before and they were mainly Lee Dumonde scenes, which are extremely rare and hard to come by. I really wish that I got a chance to download the clips and save them onto my computer before they got copyright struck by Sony. I don't know if I'm ever going to find those particular scenes anywhere on the web ever again.

Tate's probably just happy that he doesn't have to deal with his mom anymore and maybe he's even secretly hoping that he won't have to see her ever again. Also, what are they even doing with Holly and Tate? What was the point of that scene if they weren't even going to sleep together? Wow, these two are really boring, aren't they? Sophia is literally the only thing making them interesting right now.

GH: August 2024 Discussion Thread
I would be fine with either at this point. I don't really see a point for Sasha to remain on this show at this rate. She can literally walk out the door tomorrow and I won't even blink an eye. The only reason why she's even working for the Qs is so that she could be in a boring romance with the equally useless Cody, (who honestly should not even be Mac's spawn in the first place, but I digress).

GH: Mulcahey OUT!
So whose idea was it to have Sasha quit being a model and have her be the Quartermaine chef? Because that was utterly bizarre. It just doesn't fit her character. Also I would've been fine with the Drew/Nina hate sex thing being just that - hate sex, as long as neither of them were developing real feelings for each other especially since I can't see either of them ever growing to like each other for real, (well maybe not in Drew's case but I could see this happening for Nina mainly because she's a idiot and a complete moron and she really has no self-respect or any kind of dignity). I mean, there is really no real reason for Drew to ever like Nina in any capacity, especially after the way that she supposedly had him thrown in prison for the SEC incident, (I don't actually buy this narrative, but this show insists on perpetuating it anyway, so...). My only complain was that there should've been a little bit more build-up to it. I'm still hoping that this whole Drew/Nina/Willow storyline eventually leads to a permanent exit for Nina and we won't have to see or hear from this pathetic waste of a character ever again. I never want Sona revisited in any capacity ever again.

Oh yeah I was seeing some of those tweets last night on my feed. Alan really should've stopped debating her after a certain point; he should have realized that she was too set in her ways and nothing he said was ever going to change her mind.

DAYS: August 2024 Discussion Thread
If Brady ends up back with Chloe, then they can always put Belle with Philip. They can put Shawn with Jada especially since Jada is basically languishing in her pairing with Rafe and Jada/Rafe are pretty boring to begin with. I don't have a problem with the names Belle and Tate. At least they're unique. I do get why some people might have a problem with the name Tate though. Tate Black sounds kind of dumb in retrospect. Also I don't really have a problem with Theresa changing her name either because what woman her age is even still named Jeannie in this day and age? That's even dumber in my opinion. Also the names Jeannie Theresa flow pretty well together too so it's a nice bonus.

DAYS: August 2024 Discussion Thread
That's not what I've seen. I've seen a lot of overwhelming negative reaction in numerous online forums and also on social media, including Twitter and Instagram, regarding not only the horrible wig that Emily had to wear, but also the horrible writing and characterization for Theresa. I hate to say it but this version of Theresa really flopped hard as a character and it would be better for her to stay off-screen for a while, at least until the memory of this latest horrible storyline isn't so prominent and vivid in people's minds and they can move on from it. I hope one day she can return as either Jen Lilley or an actual proper recast that can truly convey the essence of her character without any stupid blonde wig or anything. There are plenty of actresses in their 30s that can take on that role; they don't have to rely solely on Emily especially when there could be better options out there.

DAYS: August 2024 Discussion Thread
If I sounded like I was blaming Jen Lilley for this awful mess, then I'm sorry... I wasn't. The fault obviously lies in both Albert Alarr and Ken Corday; they both screwed up royally. Either way both she and Emily O'Brien are owed a major apology for the way everything went down. And I won't blame either of them if they decided to never have anything to do with this show ever again, especially Emily. This has got to be particularly humiliating and embarrassing for her.
-
DAYS: August 2024 Discussion Thread
If that's true, then they shouldn't have allowed Jen to come back in the first place. They should have just told her that they were recasting Theresa and gone ahead with someone else in the role. What that tells me was that Albert Alarr was just extremely dishonest and unprofessional with her and this whole thing was poorly planned from the very beginning. Also what they should've done was let Jen Lilley finish out Theresa's initial story arc (whatever it was) and then later if they wanted to bring Theresa back to reintroduce Tate as a SORASed teenager, then they could've recast her at that point. I know that the writer's strike complicated things but that's still not an excuse to screw up things so badly. Also, were they really planning to bring in Tate all along or was that something that they came up with on the fly? I'm still wondering that myself.

DAYS: August 2024 Discussion Thread
Well, damn. Theresa is actually going to prison. I'm kind of surprised she got such a light sentence and that E.J. even agreed to the plea deal but I guess it's better than nothing, especially since she could have very easily gotten away with her latest crimes. I didn't think the prosecution was going to be able to prove that she committed fraud beyond a reasonable doubt anyway, especially with Konstantin now gone, so the kidnapping was going to be the only crime that they could possibly pin on her. I mean, this is probably the first time in her entire life that she's ever been held accountable for anything. I really hope that serving time in prison serves as a massive wakeup call and maybe it might allow her to finally turn things around. I have no faith in Ron but maybe at the very least the new writers might be able to give her some nuance that Ron is obviously incapable of giving her even if she actually never ends up getting redeemed. On the bright side, maybe she will be able to get out just in time for Tate's high school graduation. Let's hope Ron isn't stupid enough to bring her back next year with a stupid WTD storyline and possible custody battle. Theresa needs a long break from this show. Also, this Fiona storyline feels like a massive waste of time to me. If she's not there to try to get a massive payday from Xander's newfound wealth, then what is she even doing on this show? And if this is the absolute best that they can do for Brady, then at this point they need to bring Chloe back to reunite with Brady and she can usher him off the canvas so that they can finally get the HEA that many fans have been waiting decades for.

GH: August 2024 Discussion Thread
Nina has a history of being extremely insecure and needy and she's always acting like she desperately wants people to like her and be friends with her. That's just how her character has always been. Also, she has been perfectly fine without Sonny for the entire time that she's been on this show, so I don't get this idea that she and Sonny are somehow this great love story and they need to get back together because somehow Nina makes Sonny "a better man" or whatever crap people like to spew out. I just don't like Nina and Sonny because they are an awful couple and they never should have happened to begin with and even though I could care less for Nina these days, I think she deserves a whole lot better than him. But I don't know if there is a man alive that even exists that can handle a person like Nina, with maybe the exception of Valentin. And we all know how their relationship turned out in the end.

GH: August 2024 Discussion Thread
If Maurice is really placing his own value and self-worth on playing Sonny and being the star of the show, then that's something that he needs to deal with and come to terms with. He can't rely on that gig forever because there is going to come a day, (and that day might be soon for all I know), that GH is not going to be on air anymore. What is he going to do then? I think the best thing to do at this point is to gradually phase Sonny out of the show by putting him in a supporting role and then eventually write him out altogether by giving him a HEA with Brenda, (personally I don't think he deserves a HEA of any kind and his story should end with him ultimately getting killed off permanently, but I digress). Besides, I'm sure Nina and Carly will do just fine without him, especially Nina. Nina doesn't even need Sonny to remain relevant as a character anyway.

DAYS: August 2024 Discussion Thread
Okay... so it looks like Theresa plead guilty so she is definitely looking at some sort of prison time. I don't know why Andrew is still hashing out a plea deal; I thought that would've been resolved by now. I don't know if part of that plea deal includes reducing the charges to misdemeanors, but if she actually has plead guilty to felony charges, that is going to go on her permanent record and some places of employment won't even hire her because of her felony record. Depending on the state, she won't be able to legally own a firearm or even vote. So yeah, not looking too good for Theresa right now. Either way, I highly doubt that she's going to want to do anything that's going to land her right back in prison, so hopefully this will scare her straight.

DAYS: August 2024 Discussion Thread
You know, the fact that the show is spending this much time on Theresa's legal woes, even if it's off-screen, tells me that she's more than likely going to spend some time behind bars. How much time though... who knows? If she really was going to get off any legal charges, it would've happened by now. I highly doubt she's going to be tried for the fraud charges, especially with Konstantin now dead, so the prosecutor would be focusing more on the kidnapping charges. Then again, I won't be surprised if she ends up spending several years behind bars either since I don't see the writers ever bringing her back in the near future or ever.
