I don't understand why Sharon and Tracy are acting so shocked about Leslie being Barbara's daughter. "Oh, we would've known..." Oh really? You people were the ones that basically threw her out and you never even kept in touch with her afterwards. Miss me with that crap. Don't you dare pretend you gave a crap about her now. Maybe Barbara didn't want them to know because as far as she was concerned, she might've viewed them as being responsible for her losing her career and dreams of becoming a famous singer? Have they ever thought of that? They never even bothered to stand up for her when Dante forced her out. It's just dumb.

Okay the only thing that bothers me about this character so far is his name. Why is it spelled KIAL if it's supposed to be pronounced KYLE? Why not just spell the &%^$ name properly? It just looks weird and off-putting; I'm sorry. And this is supposed to be a guy who's in Nicole and Dani's age group.

At this point I'd rather they bring on someone new for Michael if they intend for him to be the next gen Alan type, because if he's supposed to have the type of relationship that Alan and Monica had, I just don't really see it with Willow. Willow is just basically a crazy unhinged psychopath at this point and she only has a certain amount of shelf life. I wouldn't hate the idea of bringing Serena on except that pretty much all of Scotty's kids are dead and I don't want her to be next. Zoe could probably work too. They could also bring on Lisa Yamada to play Selina Wu's daughter or something.

How convenient that Carlton is suddenly unable to accompany Nicole to Winterfest. Kind of lame if you ask me. I was looking forward to seeing them together. Is this all because this Dr. Rollins character can suddenly swoop in in his place? I have a feeling that Carlton may not be long for this show. And wow, Chelsea. Way to be supportive of your girlfriend. Hopefully Madison's mom shows up at some point because I really want to get a better picture of her and Madison's dynamic.

That's hilarious! I actually remember featuring Margarita in my fanfics, (back when I had no idea that I was actually writing fanfics, and no, I never did post those online, and thank God too, because they were pretty bad lol), and just now I decided to create an OC loosely based on her named Juanita Ramos and I'm going to debut her in a Thanksgiving-themed Beyond The Gates-centric fanfic I'm going to write. I already wrote out a whole backstory for her and everything. I even did a character model on her in Sims 4. Also I did a deep dive into Daniela Romo and apparently she had been singing long before she became an actress. I actually listened to some of her songs and they are pretty good; she's actually a very good singer. I actually have some favorites I've been obsessively listening to nonstop. I also do a video series on YouTube and I'm actually thinking of doing an episode on her soon, but not right now because this week is Thanksgiving and also this Sunday is my birthday.

So my mom used to watch this Spanish telenovela called "El Manantial" when I was a kid and I would watch some episodes with her and the other day I started watching it on YouTube out of curiosity and holy crap, is it insane! Like the mother of the female protagonist was having an affair with the father of the male protagonist and it was so messy and crazy and she ended up getting pregnant with his child, (but of course the child ended up being stillborn). And the male protagonist's mom grew very bitter and angry because of her husband cheating on her and screwing around on her and she opposes her son's relationship with the female protagonist, (and can you really blame her? I mean, her husband is a total scumbag!). By the way, the one character that I remember from that show all these years later is the male protagonist's mother Margarita, who's played by Daniela Romo. And she's an excellent villain, very layered and complex. She has these moments where she's vulnerable and then she also has these moments where she's angry and raging at everybody. I wish we had a villain like that on American soaps. I'm not sure about the state of Spanish soaps these days, but the telenovelas, (at least the ones back in the late 90's/early 2000's), were very interesting and compelling. I guess now I'm beginning to understand where my journey to soapland truly began.

It's still possible that Owen could be in cahoots with Jeremy and Jeremy might've hired him to kidnap Stephanie and hold her hostage as a desperate attempt to win her back.

Basically Ron Carlivanti and Jamey Giddens are terrible writers and they really suck. The last couple of years of Ron's tenure on Days was especially bad. I also think the whole Renee/Sarah debacle was Jamey's idea too, so I'm always giving him a massive side-eye for that. Honestly, I'm starting to understand why Ambitions only lasted one season.

I'm really liking Izaiah and Eva so far. And why can't I help but feel that something might happen to make Jessica stay in Fairmont Crest permanently?

I really hope this means that Tomas is slowly being phased out of the show and eventually by the end of the next season he gets written out altogether. I just don't think he's really needed at this point. But as much as I like Eva and Izaiah so far, I think it's way too early to call them endgame at this point. And I also hope that something interesting happens at Winterfest because if this show is devoting so much time to it, there better be some good payoff. And I hope that includes Leslie and Eva being exposed for their misdeeds and crimes.

Then what should we have then if not marriage?

I'm fine with Leslie being exposed at Winterfest at this point. A lot of people are getting really tired of Leslie constantly winning over the Duprees and them just standing there and doing absolutely nothing. Plus Leslie (and Eva to a lesser degree), are long overdue for a comeuppance. The fact that these two are practically eating screentime for days on end is really hurting the show in the long run. At least if Leslie gets exposed for what she did to Laura and receives an acceptable type of punishment, we can finally move on to other stories.

And now millions of people are able to be kicked off their health insurance because the ACA subsidies are about to expire next month. How long before the ACA completely dies off and insurance companies end up kicking off millions more people all because they have pre-existing conditions? Hell, I might end up losing my health insurance at this rate because I have numerous pre-existing conditions and so do my parents. Not to mention that now the Republicans want to push a national abortion ban in their next upcoming bill as well as a ban on hemp THC products. So yeah, screw the Republicans and Democrats.

We don't need to fully get rid of democracy. We could possibly have a socialist democracy type of government similar to that of Canada and to a lesser extent England, (except for the whole monarch thing). The Constitution needs a massive upgrade too with amendments codifying abortion, gay and POC in a way that the Supreme Court can't undo it easily regardless of who's in power. It's time to take our power back from the oligarch billionaires, and judging from what happened in New York, I think people are finally fed up and want real change. The question is whether everyone else is going to follow through. People deserve healthcare and a livable wage in order to make a decent living and support their families. But all of that isn't going to happen unless this country goes through some real suffering and pain, unless the people decide to take charge and get rid of the despotic regime, which I'm still not sure that's even going to happen at this rate.

Well, maybe you're right, but the system we have in place now clearly isn't working and we need someplace better. And I feel like the only way we're ever going to get that at this point is if the country completely falls apart and millions of people end up dying from a combination of starvation, disease and warfare. This country will never learn.

At this point it's time for the progressives to take charge. I never thought I'd ever say this, especially considering that I have grown in a family that has taught me that socialism is evil, wrong and bad and is the root of everything that's wrong with society, but honestly the events of the last 10+ months have made me change my mind. This country has completely gone downhill. People are struggling to keep food on the table. People my age are juggling multiple jobs and still can't own an affordable home. Worse yet they work long hours for abysmal pay and that hasn't changed in years. If that doesn't prove how dire things are, then I don't know what does. It's pretty obvious at this point that capitalism isn't working and hasn't been working for a very long time. We need a long term viable solution in order to get our country back into working shape. And if socialism is the solution that we need to rely on, then so be it. I don't know if it's truly going to work in this country but at this point I'll try anything , because otherwise the alternative is spending the rest of our lives living in an authoritarian fascist police state. And I definitely don't want that.

And the Kat stans are going to get even more irate if that happens.

I certainly didn't think the government was going to be shut down forever, at least I hope not, unless that was the Republican Party's plan to completely destroy the economy by keeping the government shut down indefinitely. But unfortunately, I don't really see people blaming the Republicans, only the Democrats. Either way, the party needs to undergo some major changes.

Somebody please get rid of him once and for all. He's despicable.

I won't be surprised if that happens. I would hate for Jeremy to be thrown under the bus for Stephanie/Alex but that's pretty much what's going to happen. Why else would they go through the trouble of bringing back a character that hasn't been on screen in nearly 20 years just to turn him into an irredeemable psycho that has to eventually be killed off just like Nick before him? Even worse yet this is Mike's only child. Maybe if Mike had another kid that was a good egg, this wouldn't bother me so much. This is why a part of me is hoping if Liam sticks around long term maybe eventually it'll turn out that he's Mike's long lost kid.

Yeah, this is horrible, but the Democrats are definitely in a no win situation. It was either lose healthcare for millions of Americans or just let people go hungry. And there was no guarantee that the Republicans were ever going to budge on extending the ACA subsidies anyway. But yeah this definitely made the Democrats look weak and now they may have possibly screwed up their chances on winning the midterms. Not that I ever thought the Democrats had a chance in hell on winning the midterms anyway.

Martin had every right to be pissed at Kat. Yeah, she didn't mean for Samantha to overhear, but she should've been more careful. And honestly, if Samantha wants to act like a spoiled brat and ruin her own life by running in the streets, let her. She's going to find out the hard way how tough it is out in the real world. Martin and Smitty gave her a great life and now she wants to throw it away all because of a stupid boy.
