Billy Flynn just did a nine-minute video interview with Entertainment Tonight - the interview is on the train set. Released August 1st on ET website and August 3rd on YT. BF says Cane will have his office on the train. I guess Cane will sleep in a sleeping car? behind spoiler tag in case you are strictly unspoiled. It shows two characters visiting Cane on the train set . . . but no audio for what they say. One character is unsurprisingly interacting with Cane, so the only thing spoilerish about that character is their wardrobe for the future episode but nothing else about them. One character who has been airing all along, nothing surprising, but you may or may not expect to see them interacting with Cane in a future episode - name behind spoiler tag --------------- The major "spoiler" is that Billy Flynn shows a script cover for Sept. 4th which has Jill Farren Phelps listed as one of the producers, but that's already discussed on the writer-director thread as well as Errol's thread about JFP --------------- Youtube behind spoiler tag

Posting here in the nonspoiler thread now only because it contains an interview with the set designer -- discussing how the set is done. and because, as Cane said today August 4th, they're KEEPING the train sets.

Sean Blakemore was great on Season 3 of "All Rise". I didn't like the storyline but he did a great job portraying an arrogant wealthy attorney trying to sweep a married judge off her feet. (the character didn't succeed but almost did). It's streaming on Hulu.

The fact that some posters support Smitty and some support Martin, shows that both characters are written with layers, which means there is depth to this show, and that's a good thing!

Smitty understands why Vernon and Anita made Martin keep the secret, and isn't over it yet but will get there. But Smitty's not forgiving Martin for doing what Vernon and Anita told him to do. I mean that's inconsistent but actually human -- humans have flawed reasoning. That flawed inconsistency is realistic. So, objectively, that's good writing. But I'm annoyed at Smitty nevertheless.

Smitty did see Anita at the country club. They had their own conversation. He told her "you are a goddess", and bowed down. Anita said "You are a saint, Vernon and I owe you an apology" (reference to the Martin secrets) and Smitty acknowedged: "What you did was out of love for my husband. I can't say I'm over it yet, but remembering that will help me get there." Smitty told Martin he wasn't forgiving him, but he did sincerely hug Martin and wished him well before leaving.

Smitty/Anita conversation is great too

Oh wow the Danielle Paige dialogue at the start of the reception is really great. Fast with lots of great quips and references, without being too trendy. Really wonderful and real.

I like the Martin conversations where he acknowledges the parallels -- that it took many years for Anita to make amends regarding Barbara, and to attain forgiveness, but it happened eventually -- and that it might take a long while for Smitty to understand. Not saying whether it should (or shouldn't) take a long while for a Smitty/Martin reconciliation. Just appreciating the in-depth reflections and emotions.
