  1. @Errol disabled the "status update" bar feature. https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/57058-status-updates-feature/?do=findComment&comment=1792088 There is still the thread in the Off Topic Lounge called "Your daily (or nightly) thought". https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/55725-your-daily-or-nightly-thought . Thank you for the greetings!
  2. I don't understand what you mean by "it guy" in this context. I don't consider Victor, Sonny, Jason, or Todd to be "leading men". I consider them to be disgusting villains I loathed and fast forwarded through! Yes I know Victor Newman was featured as the star at times, but I don't consider him a leading man, I still consider him a villain. To me, a leading man is someone I care about. I loathed those guys. To me, an "it girl" or "it guy" is someone with charisma AND an attractive personality -- someone I would want to be around! They don't have to be perfect but they shouldn't be villains!

  4. The significant news is the Alaska Senate race. We knew a Republican would win, but it wasn't clear which Republican it would be. The main candidates were: Lisa Murkowski - Republican Kelly Tshibaka - Republican Patricia Chesbro - Democrat None of the candidates got over 50% of the vote so it went to ranked-choice votes. Today November 23, the ranked choice vote count determined that Murkowski won. This is a victory because Murkowski defeated the Trump-backed Tshibaka. https://www.adn.com/politics/2022/11/23/alaska-us-sen-lisa-murkowski-wins-reelection/ This doesn't affect what we already knew to be the total balance/count of Democrat vs. Republican senators in the US Senate; because it was already known that one of the Republicans would win the Alaska senate seat. But it matters *which* Republican won, because Murkowski is a Republican who voted to impeach Trump, and because of how she votes on some things. The Senate elections are still at 49 Republicans, and 50 Democrats, with Georgia to be decided in the Dec. 6 runoff. We need Warnock to win the runoff, in order for the Senate to be effective.
  5. Ridge showed the dress to Taylor - and told her he wanted to marry her and thus had just quickly designed the dress just for her and had it quickly sewn - so that he could propose - and asked her to wear it in marrying him. He proposed with the dress instead of a ring. (He might have given a ring as well). But yes, in general, your point is taken!
  6. I am curious to see if Moses is even remembered in the future. Even when teen Moses was on the show, he had scenes with Devon and Faith. But I think he had only one or two scenes with Lily the entire time. You'd never know Moses was Lily's brother. In the past few months, the show seemed to have made a point of Nate stating that Devon was too attached to Neil and Neil's visions for the company ... as if Devon needs to move on from Neil the man. Devon had a bunch of recent scenes remembering Neil - but it was kind of a farewell in his mind. And now they're having Devon connect with Tucker.
  7. In the dialog yesterday, Daniel told Lily that he and Heather were ... something, (he was vague) but the way he said it, the implication was that he and Heather are distanced/strained. He said that Heather and Lucy were currently in Europe somewhere. And Daniel seems interested in working for Chancellor-Winters.
  8. ---------------------- UPDATE on Colorado 3rd Congressional District: Although Frisch conceded to Boebert, the race isn't decided yet! The margin is too close and there will probably be a recount beginning in early December! (Decision to recount or not will be announced after Dec. 5th.) https://www.cpr.org/2022/11/17/colorado-district-3-lauren-boebert-adam-frisch-recount/ -- So that means that Calif 13th and Colorado 3rd are the only two Congressional races that are not called yet, although both have Republicans leading. Current count: Democrats 213 Republicans 220 Not final: 2 __________ total 435
  9. Congressional races that had not yet been called -- UPDATE: -------- California 3rd Congressional District Democrat Jones vs. Republican Kiley. Kiley won. https://apnews.com/article/2022-midterm-elections-california-veterans-sacramento-gavin-newsom-868cf922b642790bb63217d370070d50 Jones has conceded. https://www.theunion.com/news/dr-kermit-jones-concedes-in-third-congressional-district-race-against-kevin-kiley/ ______________________ California 22nd Congressional District Democrat Salas vs. Republican Valadao Valadao won. Salas has conceded. https://www.mercedsunstar.com/news/politics-government/election/article268972677.html Edit to add a note that Valadao (the Republican who won) was the incumbent and he voted to impeach Trump. ______________________ California 34th Congressional District ***Both candidates are Democrats*** Jimmy Gomez vs. David Kim Gomez has been declared the winner. (Don't know if Kim has conceded yet). https://www.mercedsunstar.com/news/nation-world/national/article268985927.html ______________________ Alaska "At-Large" Congressional District D-Mary Peltola R-Sarah Palin R-Nick Begich None of them got at least 50%, so it went to "ranked-choice". Mary Peltola (D) has now officially won in the ranked-choice count. https://www.adn.com/politics/2022/11/23/rep-mary-peltola-wins-alaskas-us-house-race/ Peltola was the first Alaska Native elected to Congress -- She was first elected several months ago to finished out the term of a Congressman who had died. And now she's been reelected for a full term. Sarah Palin DEFEATED. ______________________ California 13th Congressional District Democrat Gray vs. Republican Duarte Duarte is ahead by only 593 votes, race not called yet. https://www.mercedsunstar.com/news/politics-government/election/article269098742.html ** (I think this is the only race not yet called). ______________________
  10. I posted this on the Media/Journalism thread, and now posting here, too: The Colorado Springs Gazette seems to be doing a decent job of reporting on the mass shooting at the Club Q, including articles about support for the victims. Here is the index of all their articles on the topic: https://gazette.com/special-coverage/continuing/club-q-shooting/

  12. I'm just making a general statement, and not specific to any of these shootings. Whenever *any* of these mass shootings happen, I respect it when the news media honors the names and lives of the people who were killed or injured -- and gives very little attention/focus to the shooter's name and life. The shooters seek attention, so I appreciate it when they are denied attention. The news must be reported about the name of the shooter, but I don't want to see the shooter's name in the headline or their face on the front page. It's fine if the shooter is called out as a bigot or an extremist -- as a part of the general problem in society -- because that needs to be discussed. But I don't want the person's name getting headlines.
  13. I know this Lily/Daniel scene already aired Monday 11/21; but posting this preview here now to discuss it. Just ignore the intro from the The Talk host. (Chose this facebook clip because it's visible internationally) https://www.facebook.com/TheTalkCBS/videos/1158824104732847 ---- And then this aired Tuesday 11/22: https://www.facebook.com/TheYoungandtheRestless/videos/570400911566090
  14. Yeah. Especially that actor. He also complained when the show started to explore a Cane/Traci relationship. Beth Maitland's comments about the situation were indirect and polite - but it was obvious she was indicating that he tanked it.
  15. Graz on contract per closing credits
  16. Here's a copy of the same PoliticsGirl video about the Georgia vote on other platforms: On her facebook account https://www.facebook.com/IAmPoliticsGirl/videos/1335329187277978/ on her Instagram account (breakfastrant) https://www.instagram.com/p/ClPkms1DaW2/ on tiktok https://www.tiktok.com/@iampoliticsgirl/video/7168627397229579562 (She has a linktree in her twitter profile that links to all her social media profiles, so I checked it out)
  17. Agreed this is excellent. Here is a copy of same on youtube to send to anyone who doesn't want to open tweets: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PtB2zREt014
  18. I know, right? As a senator, Biden commuted by train!
  19. Yeah Thomas didn't know about the baby switch for a huge amount of time, but he knew for a while. On this show, things often drag on for many months - so I guess weeks is nothing.
  20. Yes the storyline is ridiculous! I don't think it was Brad Bell's intent was to show that Douglas is the only character with any brains or ingenuity. But that's certainly what's been demonstrated. A few years ago, when Douglas was much younger, Douglas figured out that Steffy had inadvertently adopted kidnapped Beth. (Thomas had become aware of the baby switch for a long time, but had kept silent because he liked that the supposed "death" of Beth had disrupted the Liam/Hope marriage). When Douglas figured it out, he kept telling people "Phoebe is Beth" until somebody listened. Thomas was really angry at Douglas for doing that. I thought the Douglas/Steffy scenes yesterday were very moving because of that. Steffy *knows* that Douglas is worth listening to.
