That's a very good point. And Ford/Cwikly could have reasonably decided that it would be plausible for Etna to have another eruption, even a small one, months later when this would air. How else would they explain Alison Sweeney not airing this week. The only thing to make Hurricane Sami late... is a volcano.

GH: May 2025 Discussion Thread
Speaking of Wayne Northrop as Roman... segue back to GH: After Wayne passed, I was saddened to learn that he'd had Alzheimer's for several years. So Lynn Herring had been running their farm without him, and supporting his care at the place he was treated, *and* acting on GH. 2025 is the first Nurses Ball filmed since Ms. Herring lost her husband. Another reason I'm glad that they gave Lucy some dignity this year. This is what she wore this year (thanks to MichaelFairman for organizing the photos.)

GH: May 2025 Discussion Thread
Good soap is like this Gio parentage storyline, when you understand where all the characters are coming from. It reminds me of Days when Marlena learned there were two Romans and she loved them both. And the famous scene where she talks to Abe about how Abe gets to be friends with both WayneRoman and DrakeRoman and he doesn't have to choose. And she doesn't want to choose. You can see all the points of view, and nobody is completely right or wrong. Because it's about the human condition and not about shipper wars or fan favorites. Or as Toups said upthread, no mobsters needed. Just human nature being explored. I have been reading the recaps and discussion of the most recent GH episodes, and have watched some clips. Amazing stuff. I will have to find a temporary subscription to Hulu just to watch these Gio reveal scenes. And the Michael stuff. I'm also glad to read that they dispensed with the Lucy-in-her-underwear trope from the Nurses Balls of previous years. I'm glad Lynn Herring got to show Lucy as fun and irrepressible but also with some dignity. I was going to skip watching the Nurses Ball this year, but with that and the Gio stuff and Michael stuff, I will watch. And of course Queen Jane Elliot.

DAYS: May 2025 Discussion Thread
The eventuality that viewers will see John's memorial service wouldn't be a spoiler since we all know that Drake passed. (The specific airdate and attendees of the memorial service would be a spoiler, so I wouldn't post that here even if I knew, which I don't.) A lot of this stuff (Bo's illness, John's death, the memorial service, and other family stuff) would have been filmed fairly close together (not sure of the timespan) due to the availability of guest actors. All we know is that they finished filming some of that sequence just a few days before Drake passed away. Most of actors didn't know Drake's death was coming so soon, (The family kept it under wraps) but some of them were told that his condition was not recoverable and that he would pass at some point. Obviously the onscreen tears are real. We aren't just seeing the characters crying. We're seeing the actors' real grief. I haven't watched today's episode yet. Not sure how I'll get through it.

BTG: May 2025 Discussion Thread
@Liberty City I think there is a quoting glitch. I've seen similar things happen on other threads by other posters. I started a tech support thread here:

technical glitch with misattributed quotes
@Errol this has happened several times in past week or two by various posters in on various threads. This has occurred several times, to the point where I think there is a glitch in nested quotes. PersonA posts something. PersonB quotes PersonA and replies. Then PersonC tries to quote what PersonB had quoted, and the *result* is that the original thing that PersonA said, becomes quoted by PersonC as if had been originally said by PersonB. One example is on the OLTL thread, and I posted the example of what happened within that thread: Here: (Link to example on OLTL thread) There was a similar thing on the BTG May thread, but too complicated to quote there or here, so I PM'd the links to Errol. It was same thing. Person B quoted Person A. PersonC tried to quote PersonA, but due to nested quotes, it inadvertently got misattributed to PersonB. I have observed this several times in past week or two by various posters. At first, I thought each one was a random human error, but there have been enough of these recently for me to think that there might be a technical glitch on the messageboard. I know that the messageboard doesn't *display* nested quotes of more than one layer, but there seems to be a citation ghost that remains now.

One Life to Live Tribute Thread
@Paul Raven said: 1976 Pt 3 <snip> Victor, her words hitting upon him like tidal waves, pleads, “Dorian, don’t say any more,” as .he moves to the sofa, where he collapses, suffering a massive stroke. I remember watching a great deal of these scenes in all of your 1976 Pt 3. Amazing! And you are at the all time classic part of Dorian scheming against Victor. Dorian was totally unsympathetic then, a true villain.

One Life to Live Tribute Thread
@Errol there seems to be a malfunction in quoting that started happening a week or two ago. PersonA posts something. PersonB quotes PersonA and replies. Then PersonC tries to quote what PersonB had quoted, and the *result* is that the original thing that PersonA said, becomes quoted as if had been originally said by PersonB. For example - PaulRaven posted on prior page this (Link to PaulRaven original post) Then I myself janea4old quoted PaulRaven and replied (Link.to.janea4old.quote.of.Paul.Raven.and.reply) Then @j swift tried to cite my PaulRaven quote, But the result was that PaulRaven's words were attributed to me janea4old. That happened above (Link to misattribution) Screencap of the glitch with misattribution of Paul's words to me: *** Sorry everyone, I don't want to derail this thread, just wanted to post what happened on the page where it happened so that Errol could see it in context. J_swift is not to blame. My theory is that this is a messageboard technical glitch. I've seen this happen several times with various posters on various threads over the past week or two. Quoted quotes being misattributed, and it happens with experienced posters who usually don't err in this way. So I think there's a technical glitch in nested quoting. Edit to add: I started a tech support thread about this quoting glitch since there have been various instances. https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/68905-technical-glitch-with-misattributed-quotes/

I think you meant siblings, as they aren't twins. It was established in episode #2 that Tyrell is 17 and Samantha is 16.

BTG: May 2025 Spoilers
This came from a facebook post on a BTG facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/1172019350417582/?multi_permalinks=1423670111919170 This was on a BTG fan group page, not the official BTG page. I don't think he's cast? It seems like he's just saying he's ready to be available to stroll onto the set, a wishful post? From his personal facebook, it seems he's not an actor, just a BTG fan. His personal page is here: https://www.facebook.com/lamar.hill.982845 Looks like he lives in Georgia. I mean maybe he's a U/5? but I don't get that from his personal page.

DAYS: May 2025 Discussion Thread
I had to think about how Tate is related to everyone. First: major storylines of John and Bo. Tate is obviously grandson of John via Brady Black. Tate is twice-connected to Bo: Bo is Tate's great-uncle via Isabella. Bo is Tate's great-uncle via Kimberly. Tate is separately related to Pandrew: Andrew is Tate's uncle on the Donovan-Brady side. Paul is Tate's uncle on the Black side. Connections to young people in town: Via Kimberly and Roman, Tate is related to Johnny and Will. Will is Ari's father, so Tate is related to Arianna via Will. Via Isabella and Justin, Tate is related to Sonny. Sonny is Ari's third parent, so Tate is connected to Ari via Sonny. I started to diagram out second cousins, third cousins, half-cousins, half-uncles, "once-removed", etc, and then stopped myself, LOL. What matters is that they are extended family to one another.

DAYS: May 2025 Discussion Thread
When I saw the spoiler pics for Tuesday May 27, I was concerned that the episode would entirely be about Ari's hook-up, Sophia's adoption process, and Leo doing whatever. I don't mind some of that, but I didn't want to lose the momentum of the John and Bo storylines. I was glad to see that it was written more organically -- the teens and young adults doing their normal stuff, but they they get the news about John. Glad Tate was there. They must have found a way for Leo Howard to tape before/after his wedding. Glad they all talked about John. Good to know that Tate, Ari, and Johnny are visiting John at the hospital -- not sure if that was or will be shown, but at least it's happening.

DAYS: May 2025 Discussion Thread
Yes but the scenes are filmed out of order by availability of sets and actors. (using fake episode numbers and fake director names to illustrate my point) The directors rotate directing by days on the set, as you said. but... there are sometimes adjustments: Director XYZ could work all day on a single Wednesday, during which he/she directs parts of episode #1, parts of episode #2, and parts of episode #10 -- because they are using specific sets in all of the scenes being taped that day, and/or because of which actors are available that day. The next director in the rotation works all day Thursday, filming pieces of various episodes, in the same way. After all the scenes of a single episode are completely taped, it might end up like this: Episode #9999 might have been taped partially on Tuesday, partially on a Thursday, and partially a week or two later. And different directors might have been working on each of the taping dates. When doing the closing credits, they look at who directed which scenes. A single episode might have some scenes directed by Mr.ABC, and some scenes directed by Ms.DEFG. The episode is credited to whoever directed largest percentage of the episode. I don't think this happens all the time. Of course they would try to keep it consistent within the episode, so that it's all done by one director, But occasionally the process is split up, as I described.
