@Maxim Sven was a conman who forced Mac and Rachel’s maid, Helga, to convince them to hire him. He wanted to get in his hands on Mac’s money. To do this, he ended up drugging Helga’s daughter Regine, and Mac and put them in bed together. When Regine found out she was pregnant (by her boyfriend) everyone thought Mac was the father and he planned to divorce Rachel and marry Regine. When the plan was exposed, he killed Rocky, the stable man and kidnapped Rachel. Eventually, he was caught and sent to prison. That’s the bare bones of it, but from what I hear, it was much more layered than that. Harding Lemay wrote it. He ended up hating the storyline though, but I’m pretty sure it was the last time that AW hit #1 in the ratings.

Agreed. Every soap writer has their highs and lows, but Ron’s lows were pretty low. In some cases, he couldn’t get lower even if he tried. The only thing I’ll give the Body&Soul storyline is that it’s not as awful as the Dimitri storyline. That was just disgusting.

That current era (1995-1996) It seemed somewhat darker and more gothic. And they tried to do that thing with Tomas and the vampires not long after Marlena’s possession ended. But I will say that, from watching the early 1995 episodes of AW, I believe the mandate to make it more like Days came down before Jill Farren Phelps got there

My first experience with AW was in 1996. But I was 3 going on 4 so idk if that really counts. That year, it was first written by Tom King&Craig Carlson. And then by Margaret DePriest again. It was also a time that the network was really trying to turn AW into a Days clone. I got back into it when it first started being shown on SoapNet in 2003. The first episode I saw was MJ watching her hooker tape 😂 I remember liking most of it, but at the same time, I didn’t have much to compare it with. But I also remember thinking that it was weird that the Michael/Donna/John triangle was dropped so suddenly.

Well, Emma sure has changed since the last time we saw her… and I’m here for it! I enjoyed the scenes between Emma and Anna. The actress seemed to have good chemistry with FH as well. And hopefully Emma continues to have this animosity towards Joss too. I’m still not sure about Kai and Trina though. I don’t dislike the storyline, the potential pairing or the actor but he just comes off like such a mush sometimes. I mean, that could be on the writing but I just don’t know. As for Valentin and Charlotte… Skip.

Instead of doing a suicide mission, he just decided to wreck the place on his way out? Lol could be. Anything’s possible Ron’s ego aside, I can’t see any person willingly taking that much of a pay cut. I wouldn’t.

Christmas is over… so now we’re back to typical Ron crap. This is purely speculation on my part, but I’m really starting to wonder if Ron was attempting a suicide mission with Body&Soul, Connie, Leo, Fake Rafe 2.0, etc., but luckily Corday and Janet realized what was happening and fired his ass. What do y’all think? The young crowd was the best part of today, even though I’ve already voiced my opinion about the pacing of this storyline. I like the mess that Tate and Sophia are in. The cliffhanger was pretty good too. And I actually saw a little spark between Holly and Doug III too. I wonder how this is all going to play out. Plus, this is a much better use of Doug III/Peyton Meyer than having him be stuck with Leo. I had mixed feelings about the Rafe/Paulina scenes though. They were both such tone deaf dicks to each other today that I don’t know whose side to take 😂😂😂 And I did find Jada’s offer to Belle kind of interesting. That could actually set off a pretty good mess for the two of them and all the men in their lives, especially if something happens between Shawn and Jada, which I’m still hoping for.

All this talk of John is still tough to hear. I wonder what this top secret ISA case is going to end up being about. The Brady/Marlena scenes were really nice though. It’s always great to see Marlena shrinking Brady and I loved the Christmas gift that she got from him. And the one from John. And as much I hate Body&Soul, and hate what it’s done to Abe, I also loved the gift that Paulina gave to him. Btw, Abe’s Santa impression sounds a lot like his Stephen Nichols impression 😂😂😂 I also enjoyed Lani/Kristen’s reunion. They have a great friendship and I’m glad that the talk with Lani managed to convince Kristen to let Brady see Rachel. I still think Kristen is played out though. She should just be written off. And before she goes, needs to drop off her little demon spawn at Bayview. Btw, Happy Birthday, Jules and Carver! And congratulations, Tripp and Wendy! Too bad you’re not still on the canvas.

Merry Christmas, y’all! 🎄🎁 I’ll always love a Horton family Christmas. This is one of the things that makes Days what it is and I’m glad to see this tradition be carried on. There were a lot of sweet dorky family moments and I really liked that. And they got all the historical facts correct as well. Clearly, somebody at Days has been reading Jason47. Or this board 😂😂😂 Xander giving Sarah red shoes for Christmas was a nice throwback as well. Jack, Jennifer and JJ being all suspicious of Doug III was good too. And I like that those suspicions were one of the things that motivated JJ to decide to stay in Salem. He deserves to be on the canvas. And I don’t dislike this storyline, even though I’m still not sure about them making Julie so vulnerable. I wonder how it’s going to play out. And as much as I dislike the pacing of this storyline, Tate and Holly’s scenes were really sweet today, even though Tate lied lol I like the mess that they’re in. It just needed to happen a little later than now. The aftermath of John’s death, perhaps? It would have been nice to have a proper Holly/Tate/Sophia triangle.
