It really seemed like that's where they were going to go in 2011-2012 when Marlene McPherson and Darrell Ray Thomas were writing but the writer change put an end to that. I think it would been really interesting for Will to have become a somewhat darker character, similar to what Sami was in the 90s.

Ehhhhh... I liked Sami/Rafe as a couple. I liked them as divorced friends. And I didn't mind it when he cheated on Hope with her. But do they have to go there again? The Rafe of 2025 is definitely not the Rafe of 2017

Yeah... they really want us to hate Willow 😂😂 I'm not fully on Willow's side but I gotta admit, that fight was great. Both Carly and Willow gave as good they got and I hope that continues. And, it's been nice to see Willow finally grow some balls lol now she just needs to find them whenever it comes to Drew.

Agreed. Regressing their relationship over and over again was a big mistake. Maybe Doc will take over once she gets back from Estonia 😂 Agreed. As much as I'm liking this storyline, the three of them really should be a part of it. He really is a good scriptwriter

On the whole, this was a really good week. One of the best we've had in a while, IMO.

Siggghhhhhh Sami was used so well this week. And next week, this is what we're getting. And yeah, the Sami/Javi scenes are already making me feel nauseous.

I’ve been waiting for this Sami/Johnny scene from the moment I heard we were getting this storyline, and I couldn’t be happier that it finally happened. Their scenes today were amazing. Whoever worked on today’s script put a lot of time, care and effort into these scenes and I really appreciate that. I was very impressed by Ali Sweeney and Carson Boatman’s performances today. They both did a really good job, and honestly, should get their Emmy reels ready. And they work well together and are totally believable as mother and son. Sami talking about her past with Alan Harris, with John/Roman/Marlena, with Carrie and Austin, confessing to Johnny that she raped Austin and the reveal that she’s now in therapy were surprises that I didn’t see coming, and I loved it. To me, it feels like a natural progression for the character. She’s finally growing up lol. And I really appreciate the way the character of Sami has been treated lately. For the first time in years, she feels like an actual character instead of just a plot device/troublemaker, and that’s the way that it should be. I still hope Johnny doesn’t forgive EJ yet though. And, we got confirmation that Will knows about the rape too. Too bad that Ron lost interest in him because Will and EJ had such an interesting dynamic when James Scott played him. It would’ve been nice to see if the dynamic would’ve still been good with Dan Feuerriegel. Paulina trying to get justice for Sami could be interesting as well. And, it was great seeing Vivian again. She adds another dynamic to this whole Kiriakis family mess, and that’s always a good thing.

Emma, FTW! It’s about time somebody talks about the type of person that Joss really is 👍👍 Gio looked really good today but all the propping, and the attempt to make Emma look bad was not necessary. I’m sure there are plenty of other ways to cause conflict for the two of them. Ways that are much better than this. And someone really ought to tell Frank that he finally has a character and an actress that could possibly be his new Starr and that he shouldn’t mess it up lol And yeah, still don’t care about Sonny, Sidwell and Natalia

Today was an improvement over yesterday. There was a lot more depth and maturity in the writing. It really was like night and day. Sami and Belle’s reunion/confrontation was the best part of today. Sami told her a lot of hard truths that I’m glad Belle hasn’t accepted yet. It could lead to some pretty good drama somewhere down the line. And, we got confirmation that Belle knows about Johnny’s conception. Hopefully, that means we’ll get more scenes of Belle trying to figure out why she loves a man who hurt so many members of her family. And I liked that we got an update about Marlena and Steve as well. Sami’s scenes with a comatose EJ are exactly what Belle should have gotten yesterday. Talking about the way that she feels but not treating it like a big joke. I seriously can’t wait for her scenes with Johnny. I also enjoyed Chad and Johnny’s scenes. I liked that Chad was there for him while he raged about his parents. Their conversation hit a lot of important beats about Sami and EJ. And Chad using his own history with his mother in order to get Johnny to come around about EJ was a good idea, even though I hope that Johnny doesn’t forgive EJ yet. He needs to be at odds with him for a very long time. And, I didn’t mind Alex being such a bitch about Philip, but it would work much better if Alex was being written as the villain, instead of the righteous good guy because that still doesn’t work lol and it never will. That’s clearly not RSW’s style 😂😂 And, Sarah does not need to be another character made to look bad in order to make him look good either. But welcome back, Vivian! We’ve missed you too.

As much as I'd like to see Lucas Adams back on a soap, I can't see him as Michael.

Posts like this make me wish that the Internet, and this board existed in the 60s, 70s and 80s, just so that we could read people's initial reactions to characters, storylines, etc. 😂😂 I find it very ironic that, on the day that's exactly two weeks until Ron's last day, we get an episode that's a perfect example of one of the reasons as to why he was fired in the first place 😂

A short one today. Only 31 minutes. Between that, the padding, Philip’s random mention of his fake leg, and the piss poor dialogue, especially in the JJ/Shawn/Kristen/Melinda scenes, I guess that means we know who worked on this episode 🤮🤮 But I also admit, it was a little better than some of the garbage that we’ve seen from him. I did like that Belle admitted her feelings for EJ, even though the way it was done was stupid af. Those scenes should have focused more on Belle/Martha than EJ/Dan. Their final scene was a little better though. Btw, good luck, Philip and Xander 👍 And welcome back, Samantha Gene! We’ve missed you! I guess he’s your new favorite? 😂😂😂😉

While I’m interested in the idea of Samantha considering a career in modeling, I think they’re missing a really good way to cause conflict for Smitty and Martin. There could be some pretty good drama mined from the idea of Smitty supporting Samantha and her career, and Martin being against it because of what could happen to her, how it may make him look, etc., especially since Smitty mentioned that, while researching his article, he learned that some models/influencers sometimes get exploited. Plus, Martin being upset about Samantha’s modeling would make a lot sense than him being upset about Smitty going back to work, which seems to have been completely dropped. They really should be bombarding this couple with conflict, as opposed to short plot points that just get wrapped up in a few episodes. So that when Martin’s big secret is finally revealed, all hell breaks loose. I also think that Leslie and Eva should have a part of the episode in some capacity as well.

A soap being renewed is always a good thing 👍 But it would be nice to get some changes with this renewal too.
