  1. Great job. Thanks for doing this. Is there a list of the all time episode counts anywhere?
  2. Watching the clips of Shirley Anne Field reminded me how much I enjoyed her version of Pamela. I definitely preferred her over Marj Dusay.
  3. Yet somehow the neck tie murderer story inspired Ron Carlivati to turn Ben into the young romantic lead of the show. And the producers and network said yes what a great idea!
  4. Ada's visit to the Shea home was on camera beginning at 22:14.
  5. It is absolutely ridiculous that Ellen was not brought back. TPTB really acted like they hated the show's history and the previous actors who were popular.
  6. I have subscribed to the digital edition for the last several years. I only read about 20% of each issue so I decided not to renew my subscription. I followed the link in my renewal notification email and of course there was no cancellation option. I used the contact customer service option 3 times and did not get a response. Then one day the cancellation button appeared. I clicked on it and a successful message came up on my screen. My credit card was then charged for the renewal!! Ridiculous!
  7. Thank you! I do not remember what Mavis' connection was. It looks like I need to start watching again. I left off at episode 50 a few years ago.
  8. Does anyone know if Lurlene's husband Joel Walker was related to original characters (and Reena's cousins) Samantha and Bart Walker?
  9. I enjoyed those characters and actors as well. Casting Robert Hogan finally made Vince likeable.
  10. Denise Alexander left because she no longer wanted to commute from California to NY.
  11. Sorry to hear that Donna. The timing of the event does not work for me otherwise I would seriously consider attending. I would love to hear what Judith Barcroft (Lenore), Barbara Rodell (Lee), Ariana Muenker (Marianne), Susan Keith (Cecile) and Laurence Lau (Jamie) have to say.
  12. I wish I could attend this. I am finding the list of cast members who will be attending to be very interesting. Will you be attending Donna?
  13. Another World had several. Gail Brown (Clarice Hobson 1975-1986, 1989, 1993) was brought on for a few episodes. Harding Lemay liked her uniqueness and developed the role further. Anna Stuart (Donna Love 1983-1986, 1989-1999) auditioned for the role of Felicia. Paul Rauch then cast her for a few episodes as Peter's sister and the rest is history. Petronia Paley (Quinn Harding 1981-1987) was cast in the small role of Steve Frame's secretary. Corrine Jacker then built a significant cast of black characters around her. Brent Collins (Wallingford 1984-1988) was supposed to be killed off after a few episodes but someone fortunately saw the potential and we were blessed to watch his chemistry with Linda Dano and Stephen Schnetzer until his death. Jackee Harry (Lily Mason 1983-1986) was only supposed to appear in a few episodes. Thankfully we got to enjoy her for 3 years.
  14. He did write for GL but I don't believe he was the head writer. Of course JFP did not like him - his writing would be too intelligent for her. I agree that he should have been made head writer of Loving. He quite possibly could have been the one to make it a hit. https://www.welovesoaps.net/2010/03/wisner-washam-interview-part-3-of-3.html We Love Soaps: You also wrote for GUIDING LIGHT at one point. Wisner Washam: When I was canned from ALL MY CHILDREN, I lacked six months having enough time with the Writers Guild to be covered by the health insurance plan. Back in those days you had to work 20 years, count 'em, 20 years, in order to vest. I lacked six months. At that point, Lorraine Broderick was working at GUIDING LIGHT and, bless her heart, got me a job. They hired me but I did not fit in at all. Jill Farren-Phelps was the producer and she didn't like me. At the end of six months I was let go.
  15. Thank you! There were so many Cecile stories to love but I will never forget when Cecile realized that Alma Rudder was completely bonkers and she had no idea how she was going to control her. Nancy was brilliant!
  16. I will have to listen to Stephen’s episode of Linda’s podcast again because I do not recall them discussing Nancy. What did they say?
  17. Thanks Donna. I appreciate that. I think we all need to be careful about posting comments on here without verifying the information first. Especially when it is topic like the one in this thread
  18. It was common knowledge that he was fired or that he was gay? I knew he was gay and died of aids. His last episode as Perry aired in May 1985 and he did not die until November 1992. I’m not sure how dying of aids 7.5 years after leaving AW proves he was fired for being gay. I really think it’s important to make sure you can back statements like these with facts.
  19. Wesley Eure has stated publicly that he was fired for being gay. I have never read anything about David Oliver being fired at all let alone for being gay. I understood that his contract was up and he chose not to renew it. Where did you read that David Oliver was fired?
  20. Thank you Errol. I for one am in complete agreement with you on this. 👍
  21. Agnes Nixon mentored two of the best All My Children head writers - Wisner Washam and Lorraine Broderick. I always wondered what Wisner could have accomplished on his own on another soap. He could have been the head writer to make Loving a success.
  22. Days can fire Albert Alarr and hire the most talented, kind and nurturing EP in the history of daytime but I cannot see the cast and crew ever forgiving Ken Corday for allowing this to happen them.
  23. I agree!!!!
  24. The Cullitons retired in April. https://twitter.com/oldbat53871/status/1665836585160519681?s=20
