  1. I stopped watching early in 2024, watched in December 2024 for Dougs death and Christmas and then stopped watched again. I will start watching one month before the new writers begin so I can appreciate the improvement. I will not give up an hour a day for Ron's crap even though there are many characters I really like.
  2. A fun little video. Although some of the details are off - like the expansion to an hour leading to Virginia Dwyer, George Reinholt and Jacqueline Courtney leaving. Some of the non Another World photos used were also an odd choice.
  3. I loved Mary & Denise Alexander and they finally got the casting of Vince right with Robert Hogan. I am curious what Donna Swajeski would have written for them if Denise had not decided to leave.
  4. Some of the audience may not have that much patience but I am part of the audience and it do. I think watching Val try to move on with her life with that loss always being there would have added layers to any story being told for her.
  5. @Errol maybe you could clear this up so it does not end up in an endless back and forth leading to the thread being locked.
  6. I agree. I loved the scene when Val got her babies back but I think keeping one of the babies away until the series finale would have been incredible story telling.
  7. I agree Donna. Pete was brilliant, extremely arrogant, made some bad decisions that had a long term impact on Another World but seemed like a good man in general. Paul was brilliant, extremely arrogant, made some bad decisions that had a long term impact on Another World, was a bully, should have been fired for harassment and probably should have been sued by a few actors, actresses and staff.
  8. I don't mind it when it works. I thought it worked with Heather and as much as I like Cole I think it will be a good way to drive story for Victoria and Claire.
  9. Duell makes it very clear why he is leaving. https://michaelfairmantv.com/chad-duell-opens-up-decision-to-leave-general-hospital/2024/12/29/ Speaking on his departure (which from this interviews seems like he has already wrapped his run), Chad shared, “A lot of stuff has been going on in my life. (With) this break, there’s a few things behind it. As people know, my dad passed away and I’m still coming to terms with that, and, also, my intention was to spend some time back in Arizona but that’s becoming a little harder to do. Right now, I’m just more about doing things mentally, physically, preparing myself for whatever comes, (and) next chapters.”
  10. https://www.welovesoaps.net/2009/07/harding-lemay-interview-part-three.html?m=1 We Love Soaps: So when you were asked to come back to ANOTHER WORLD in 1988, was the plan to be a consultant or the head writer again? Harding Lemay: I don’t know what they had in mind, really. I was the head writer for awhile. And then there was a strike. And during the strike they hired some NBC people to do the writing. Then they fired me and kept the ones they used during the strike, and the show got worse and worse and worse. But even by then, when I went back, it wasn’t going to work. I could see they weren’t interested. They weren’t excited enough by what I wanted to do, whereas before they had been very excited about the ideas I had. Procter & Gamble were very upset by my book [“Eight Years in Another World”]. I was very harsh on them. Nobody thought they would ever hire me again. But they were in deep trouble, so they hired me, and forgot all about it. I was no longer that keen on doing it either. I didn’t need the money. And then I began to be a consultant. And it’s very interesting, the consultant’s fees were very high. You’d make $2,500 a day. I had a contract that said I had to be paid for three days a week whether they used me three days or not. I did that on four shows altogether. What you do is sit in with the other writers, make suggestions, and try to help them work out what they’re doing.
  11. I could not find a plot summaries section on The Another World Homepage. Just the daily synopsis. Am I missing something? Can you send me a link to that section?
  12. I suspect they are building up Cole because he will eventually die as result of something Jordan does.
  13. It was a brilliant story that I could not do justice to by trying to summarize it. I will do some googling to see if there is a recap / summary of it out there. Sven was played to perfection by Roberts Blossom who had a somewhat successful stage and film career. He played the neighbour Kevin was afraid of in Home Alone.
  14. My first memory of Another World was the Sven Peterson story / murder of Rocky Olsen in 1977. I was 5 years old and it began my love of the show. I watched faithfully until 1996 and then only sporadically after that with long breaks until the end.
  15. Richard Bekins is by far my favourite Jamie. His Jamie was passionate, stubborn, headstrong and at times messy. He had amazing chemistry with Connie Ford (Ada), Doug Watson (Mac) and especially Vicky Wyndham (Rachel). The show should have moved heaven and earth to get him back. I thought Larry Lau was fine most of the time and definitely a hell of a lot better than that generic, pretty boy with limited range Russell Todd.
  16. Thank you for this. This my Another World - Corys, Matthews, Ewings and Loves plus Carl, Cecile, Brian, Quinn and Felicia. November 1982 to mid 1985 is my second favourite era after Harding Lemay's tenure.
  17. Who was the woman with Andy? Was it Farren? Was that Frank Lewis dressed as Santa?
  18. I hated how DePriest turned Anna Stuart's Donna into a weak victim. Sampler's Donna was just a continuation of the same out of character writing.
  19. From Anne Howard's We Love Soaps interview. https://www.welovesoaps.net/2014/05/catching-up-with-anne-marie-howard-ex.html NA: Killing Jason Frame felt like it was out of left field for some fans. Did it seem that way to you? AMH: There were clues, intentional red herrings devised by the writers, that pointed to every one of us who had been in the mirrored funhouse where Jason Frame was killed. It could have been any one of us and kept the viewers trying to guess who killed Jason Frame. Our new executive producer, Michael Laibson, called me into his office and told me if it turned out to be Nicole who killed Jason that it meant I'd be leaving the show earlier than initially planned. He wanted to know how I felt about that since I had a signed a three year contract and had only been there for two years. Since Nicole was the least likely suspect, I thought it was exciting to be the chosen one and that it would make for a shocking and dramatic story line. I also felt ready to move on and was looking forward to getting back onstage again.
  20. I remember her saying that as well.
  21. I remember reading an interview with Donna Swajeski where she said the triangle would have ended differently if Joanna Going had stayed.
  22. I think Jill’s divorce lawyer was Michael Crawford who I believe was on at the same time as Michael Baldwin.
