  1. Variety on the show's potential future:

The DW cast (Capaldi, Jenna, Michelle Gomez) and crew (Moffat) are interviewed.

Steven Moffat is allegedly confirmed to continue for Series 10 in 2017. The show continues to be on what is being called "a five year plan," with no end in sight til at least 2020. Last year's Sony leak indicated that BBC Worldwide was pushing Moffat and BBC UK to greenlight a feature film, but backed off when met with resistance. IIRC, the Sony leak indicated an "eight year plan" leading to a film series, but as we've been hearing these rumblings for years it's anyone's guess whether Worldwide will ever be able to penetrate the firewall with the showrunners and get it done. I personally do not think it would work, and I would rather DW stay on broadcast until at least 2025 - making another 20 straight years without interruption for film or cancellation. But honestly, even this 15-year guarantee is more than I could have hoped for as a little kid who was stuck with PBS airings and the old videos.

The NY Times has the deposition. More linked.

I mean, damn, Khan! Cybill Shepherd can be a diva, but she's just typical Hollywood. I think you might be able to save Moonlighting just a little bit more easily than The Cosby Show.

It's particularly painful to consider watching reruns of Cosby or A Different World, knowing at least some of those women were victimized by him - possibly even some of the stars we've mentioned. I feel particularly bad for ADW, which is still modern and ahead of its time in many ways. I think its criminal notoriety now, if not its past legend, will see to it that never happens. The question is, what of the good in it will hold up?
  7. Longtime Lynch associate Charlotte Stewart (Betty Briggs) is up to something on Twitter:

It will take a decade or more to begin to recover what is left of his good works. And that's very sad, because when I was a kid he was everyone's dad, black, white, you name it. I'm not sad for him, because Bill Cosby is a serial rapist. I'm sad for that legacy of work - what little of it can be separated from the rapist. And I don't know how much that is. Maybe we'll never know.
  9. Sheryl Lee will be reading excerpts from Laura's secret diary live at the TP UK Festival this fall, before their screening of FWWM. Here's hoping that a) someone gets video and b ) she's already been on-set for the new series by then.

They're all horrible thoughts, really. I don't know if Cos ever made a move on Lisa Bonet. I do know there were whispers about his maybe making an advance on her going back a long time. I think it was largely an issue of control and his creepy paternalism and the show brand, but so much of that respectability schtick now seems inextricably melded with his fetishes and predatory behavior in all sorts of serpentine ways. I wouldn't be surprised if his controlling attitude re: Bonet was intertwined with something far worse. It almost certainly was on a mental level, the question is did he attempt to act on it?
  11. David Lynch continues taking North Bend and Snoqualmie by storm: With the mayor of North Bend:

    Oh, not Erika.
  13. Same pic from yesterday, now with Mädchen Amick trolling. I just don't think it's too much to ask for Rashida Jones and Amber Tamblyn to appear in the new series at least in cameos, as Lynch loves to make things family affairs sometimes, but I'm not laying odds. (Although Amber has been a constant presence at TP events with her father for years, going back to her GH days, and Lynch/Frost are hoping Russ Tamblyn can appear as Dr. Jacoby if his health permits.)
  14. A version of Angelo Badalamenti's Twin Peaks theme (with footage from the Czech New Wave classic Valerie and her Week of Wonders):
  15. Mark Frost's new tie-in book, The Secret Lives of Twin Peaks, is confirmed to be pushed back to TBA in 2016, as opposed to this fall. This may or may not mean the show won't air til '17 after all, but I do wonder how long they intend to film if they're starting in two months. If it's indeed 18 episodes (or more?) that is a lot of work - equivalent to what is still a standard-issue network television run - and may require a break.

I didn't realize that Whoopi apparently said yesterday that the execs were on her about her fighting with the audience about her Cosby opinions last week. I'm sure she was forced to eat crow because her job was (finally) on the line. Here Deadline's take on the entire affair, where they somehow created a setpiece where Dan Abrams came in to "explain" the law to Whoopi Goldberg so she could then do her mea culpa. I don't care why she did it, I just care that she got told. Here, also, is John Oliver's hilarious takedown of her from Last Week Tonight: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7dkQ3t7tnds
  17. More anecdotes: Brad Dukes appears to be confirming Michael Ontkean, but we already had that second-hand word once before from Michael Horse (Hawk). Meanwhile, London is going all-out with a pop-up TP theater/restaurant experience. Also, from the various old on-set polaroids which have been leaking online:

Oh, God, I hope not. I don't agree with a fraction of Joseph Phillips' opinions on politics or a lot of other things, but I have always admired him as an actor, first as Martin on Cosby then as the one true Justus Ward on GH - I just loved him on the show. I have a little more respect for him as a person now for this integrity.
  19. From the Captain Obvious department, Bran is back. And is, like most of the cast, still covering for "dead" Jon Snow.

    !@#$%^&*] that bitch.
  21. Lynch (anecdotally) confirms shooting in September to a visitor at Twede's.
  22. More of David Lynch on-site. This latter picture may be is Lynch and his location scout crew.
  23. According to WTTP, David Lynch was spotted at Twede's Diner (the Double R) in North Bend, WA again today. I assume things are proceeding apace to shoot in September as Mark Frost said, but there has yet to be an official confirmation or denial on whether the show will air in 2016 or 2017. Personally, I suspect it was a slip of the tongue and we're still on track for next year, especially as all of Showtime's media presence continues to indicate '16.

It's clearly not just about money.
