Lots of people have said a lot of things about Agnes Nixon giving them their blessing when it isn't necessarily true. I feel fairly certain that Agnes' viewpoint on Megan at the start of her headlining career at AMC was quite different than the later years. Megan and Jill were inseparable at OLTL and GH and thick as thieves. Megan was dumped by the network and Frons when Jill and Megan's creative regime tanked; Jill was left employed in the EP slot but was beholden to Guza and Frons from then on. I am amused if Megan blamed Jill for letting her be thrown over.

Dana Milbank, far from a liberal bastion in the past but rather a revered Beltway media vanguard, has come out with an editorial accurately shredding the media for attacking Biden even harder than Trump out of a mindless desperation for neutrality in the face of fascism. It's doable anytime, and they should at some point. Mac has quite a checkered past. I would like to see Mac and Felicia running some investigations again. They don't need to have a frontburner A-story but their agency can be a backdrop for a number of other more prominent people, like Sam's(?) thing that went nowhere.

Yeah, you would. They never dug much into those years or Mac after the disastrous twin/doppleganger story in the late '90s. I still don't understand what that was about.

I think they did enough of the work to reunite them, YMMV. And yeah, I want Mac to be happy. I am not a huge Felicia fan but I think it's the right thing for both of them.

I think it would have been a horrible regression for Felicia, even if JW/KW didn't have such a rough ride IRL, and even if JW hadn't behaved like a cold zombie onscreen (which was a key issue). Felicia's life and character disintegrated because she left the man who had raised her children and made a life with her for a doomed fling with Luke Spencer, and she completely abdicated all responsibility for her family in the aftermath for years. She returned, made things right with Mac and Maxie, etc. For her to backslide and go back to the one person who has been far more of a failure than her and symbolic of all her worst mistakes would've ruined her forever for me. YMMV, though.

I unfortunately watched that terrible storyline and I can assure you Anna spent the duration of those years since '92 holed up in cabins and castle towers out of her skull and with fragmented memories/brain damage being looked after by caretakers due to the boat explosion until she was found by Alex and later, regained her memory by reuniting with Robin. Scorpio, OTOH, was allegedly drafted into some sort of super CDC unit/agency.

Since we're on the subject of vets and the other topic is closed, I will venture a potentially UO - Despite his asshat behavior on social media re: supporting Steve, Chad Brannon looked really [!@#$%^&*] good when he turned up as Ghost Zander. I'm not sure a long-term purpose for the character is viable at all, but this show does need more and better males. So.... I am not averse to considering the possibility of Witness Protection Zander. There have been deader soap leading men than him who have done that retcon, and while Brannon is clearly right wing these days there are many right wingers on daytime but only a handful who would refuse the vax if a job is on the line. Discuss! Or don't.

I have no idea. I do think the plan in 2012-2013 was always to reunite Spixie but BA leaving changed that. Regardless, Ellie and Spinelli worked and evolved the character and I have no patience for Spixie now. People love to get super offended when you talk about KS' many, many issues which are not a secret. But the fact is I think it would be better for her and for the character to take a long break and take care of herself. I watch her now and it feels exploitative.

Nah, I don't buy that for Robert and Anna. Anna in particular was either comatose or catatonic and struggling with brain damage for the duration of those years away. Robert, well, I never bought into Guza reinventing him as a deadbeat. I assumed he had been forced into service with that agency for those years. Yes, but he cheated on her... a lot. I was terrified Ron and Frank were going to try and force a Frisco and Felicia reunion bc of their '80s nostalgia, but thank God they didn't. It would've been not only unbelievably wrong for Felicia, it would've been so inhumane to KW.

I will say Jack singing All I Need was one for the books; that was the best part of his doomed return, he was amazing onstage. Even if Kristina looked ready to collapse during the entire song, poor thing. I had an old stupid joke in those days about deadbeat dad Frisco; how any time Maxie would call him for help she'd get a voicemail msg that would be him singing to the tune of All I Need: "Calling you is not what I have planned..."

I think that was the case until BA decided to leave. Once they committed to the alternative with Ellie I really liked those two together. Spinelli matured with Ellie and this is all a major step back. I could say so much about KS and how she's weathered the recent years but I've said it all before. She's spent. She needs to be gone for a long time, for her sake and the show's.

Any chance you have a rough timestamp on where Bryce discusses the later years? It's a very long interview. If not, no worries. Scott Bryce is one of the smartest, slyest performers around but he's aged (well!) into a conventional-looking older man that I don't think I could see him cast in one of the Craig-like roles I'd love to see him play on a soap today. You'd have to go for a man who is more obviously smoldering and sexy, which is a shame bc I think he's still amazing.

Kirsten and Maxie have needed a "rest" for over 10 years. And yes, it is insane that Maxie has any kids at all. It gives credence to the claim that the soaps keep doing baby stories now for young people bc it is one of the few stories the networks are guaranteed to greenlight to a conservative audience. It is pathetic that she has children; she needs none. Spinelli should've stayed with Ellie and it makes him look like a complete chud to have dumped her for the mob after she raised his child and kept his home for close to ten years.
