They're wonderful rants! They've definitely lessened any focus on Danny and Jake over the last few months, as PM's influence waned. I don't think SLs were stalled as an excuse to deliberately tank ratings - I don't think FV operates like that in terms of the bottom line, ever. I do think stuff like the now-endless Pikeman saga, etc. stalled out due to BTS turmoil and likely different people at the show being at cross-purposes over stories or actors, and possibly other issues (like May sweeps vs. July 'sweeps', PM wanting to cut the cast and allegedly not being allowed, and the rather salient point that Jason and Carly, who seemed primed to be reunited, have zero romantic chemistry). Now we see the Willow/Drew/Nina story (which I suspect would've ended with Drew/Nina as endgame far down the road) likely coming to a swift and nasty end prematurely as Mulcahey's tenure wraps, and that's probably not by his own hand. We have Ava out on her áss vs. playing Sonny, and we have FV favorite Valentin's place in things remaining very murky as Anna catches feelings all over again. I do think Jacqueline Lopez was very good in her monologue eviscerating Natalia. I just still don't see much of a character behind Blaze, and I don't need to watch one more minute of Natalia period.

This has been happening for months. Carly goes over there and spills everything the cops are doing to Brennan. Why? She looks like a total idiot but it seems like it's all about them chemistry testing LW and flailing wildly because they know her and Steve aren't working. Carly constantly spilling everything to this dayplayer bad guy is ridiculous.

Trump hates anyone or anything who pulls focus from him. He will be shivving Vance soon enough.

I still wonder if it had in another ideal universe been up to Mulcahey alone if he would've tried to go back after SJB, lol. He was obsessed with her work. But that may just be wishcasting my own brain, as I still would though I think Laura has always done a solid job with often dreadful material, particularly since the 2010s. Felicia has been mostly totally redeemed from her disastrous late 90s-2000s period over the last decade-plus. There's no need to ever do anything like that with her or Mac again. I think Cam will be back in force eventually. I have my doubts it will be William Lipton though, as he's just got a regular position on a new Amazon show (for whatever that's worth).

I don't think Jason/Carly is going to happen tbh. I think they've feinted at it and toyed with it (and the exiting team wrote the hell out of a few scenes for them, particularly when he moved back above Bobbie's again and told her about his tattoo) but it's never been popular with the audience with LW in the role and they don't have romantic chemistry. Which is why it keeps dragging out. I don't think they have any idea what to do with either of them romantically atm - I think EK/FV, etc. just know it won't be Liz or Sam or whoever else. I do suspect the old stories about Korte not caring for Elizabeth or for Jason's non-Carly/mob relations are true. I also think everyone still at the show is looking for a way to keep Valentin, sadly.

I think they were doing a fair bit with both sons under the recent regime until the Jason/Pikeman story totally stalled (they then had Jake and his teen buddies try to get beer at the local bar and have Jake bust Finn to Elizabeth for being out drinking with a random floozy), but this would indicate a change if Jake does go overseas for awhile. I think part of the idea under Mulcahey, etc. was to build a contrast and possibly rivalry between the sons/half-brothers, a la Jason and A.J.

That would be very stupid, as he's the best young actor in his age range on the show and was outacting half the cast even as a child. They'd also been giving him more both over the last year/during the strike and during PM's run, but PM is now gone. Hudson West does book outside work - it frankly surprised me he hadn't left by now, and they should lock him into a contract - so I fear it's just the show/Korte not having any interest in any of Jason's children that isn't Danny, particularly one with Elizabeth. Still, it ain't over til it's over and he could always return from however long this possible exit may be.

I've been catching up as well. I think the promising stories and elements are fading fast and I'll be dipping out soon (til Jonathan Jackson shows up), but I am glad Willow/Drew/Nina is still a thing for now. Sasha will never be a compelling option for me for Michael though, and frankly they need to write him out for a few years and recast. I do think there was something there with Cody and Tracy under PM - both early on when she began using the stables more and more, and then when she actively compared him to a young Gregory. I can't see the network or FV going for it these days though.

The iconic James B. Sikking, best known for Hill Street Blues, Doogie Howser, etc. but also a GH alum (he played Audrey's husband Dr. Jim Hobart), has died after a battle with dementia: I knew him best from his cameo in The Search for Spock. What a persona.

Two things can be true. One: Trump believes the entire world is beholden to him and is ultimately just entertainment and a big TV show, and that nobody is any less out for themselves and craven for the spotlight than he is. And two: Trump knows doing what he did on the national stage is a boon to his campaign. So ultimately both Errol and marceline are right on a certain level, IMO. I do believe Trump is cognitively impaired. But I think this all weaves together into the same things you're both talking about.- GH: July 2024 Discussion Thread
I thought his appearance in 2013 was strange and off-putting at the time tbh but I am glad they had him back. He was such a life force. When this story started in March I was among the few open to the idea of Heather being softened and made into sort of a kooky talk-to for Laura, a la Alley Mills' role on B&B. (And I agree Mills' early turns as Heather were spookier and less OTT than her more recent stuff pre-hip.) I thought it might be an interesting use of the Webber family history and a surprising and unconventional turn for what had become a one-note psycho, though it was always controversial. But now it's all Laura does, it's incredibly unpopular with the audience and Trina can't buy airtime. Just send Heather off to rehab her life somewhere else, I'm done with it. The fact that Mills apparently cites Chris Van Etten as co-HW again in her new interview about the storyline and working with him on it also has not gone unnoticed by me.- RIP: In Memoriam Thread
@Errol please merge these posts into the Memoriam thread.- RIP: In Memoriam Thread
Very sad but more surprising than it should be to me - I honestly thought at this point Shannen was too tough to die. A TV legend. What a year. What a series of years.- BTG: History, Behind the Scenes Articles & Photos
