I'm way behind on all this because I've been preoccupied by IRL and the current soaps (as well as some classic GH). But if anyone is dying for yet another take on late 1991 I'm sure mine will come sometime soon.

I think if it was up to FV he'd run Valentin and Carly for another 3-5 years to keep JPS around tbh. I think that's his priority. I hope it doesn't come to that. But I'd also rather gnaw my arm off than watch more of her and Maurice together. Both options suck and I will not choose one. Kevin and Laura has got to end and I say that as someone who yes, wants Kevin and Lucy back together but mostly wants Laura free for something new. The relationship has never made much sense to me and now it's nonexistent. Not that Frank cares. JL's role on BTG will end eventually IMO (he plays a crime kingpin with his hand in several murders) but in the meantime, move on.

It was not that serious. The scenes had some friction but he was chill. It was nowhere near some of the kind of venom they have reserved for each other 20+ years ago. Sonny frankly can't work up much rage for almost anyone anymore. They won't be pairing Nina with anyone but dayplayers at this rate. The Drew door PM opened is long since closed, unless they do some sort of Herculean redemption job on his character which I don't really want or need. I don't need her with anyone (and would write her out within a year or two and give her a happy ending at this point), but I would guffaw and cheer if she and Michael had a ONS. Sean Kanan's A.J. wouldn't be a terrible idea as a pipe dream but I'd sooner see him with Carly.

I agree. Just let them have that later in life secret/chill romp we've talked about before for a while. Gives them something to do before you regroup with both. It can be played light and ease Sonny into accepting his life/age has changed. They clearly are struggling re: Sonny. Someone doesn't want him and Carly back together which has always been their safe lever (probably both actors at this point, thank God), someone else obviously doesn't want Nina (probably Korte!) and Frank doesn't want to do the obvious fix (Brenda).

Not a soul! I do in fact have another bad idea for Sonny though, while we all wait on Brenda. But I'll keep it off the thread for now unless people want to ask me one to one.

It's time to see a) Banneker and b) more of Pam and Dani's new business, as well as a proper business story for ChelseaKat. But Chelsea getting deeper into drugs wouldn't be bad either. The obvious (and best) route next is for Eva to get involved in a business venture that runs counter to ChelseaKat. But if it was modeling I don't think Dani would ever do that to Kat, at least not at this juncture. They bonded over the Eva issue very recently.

A bit of spec. They've already said in advance interviews with JV that Grayson is SPOILER driven to caring for his sick mother and will go to any lengths. This will set him up as a clear red herring for the Impaler, suggesting he is funding her care with the plasma trade. I am hoping Grayson is either innocent or some sort of reluctant accomplice. Both he and Rollins will be clear suspects (Kial is a traveling orthopedic surgeon and nomad) but I still suspect it's 100% Carlton.

I know his two leading ladies had their issues with him, but I never had a problem with Robinson as Rick onscreen. I think he gave exactly what the role asked for. I can see how others might find him stiff. It was a mistake putting him with Judith Chapman, lol.

I'm pretty sure he's still dead but I suspect Nathan is some form of evil dupe, whether it's Nathan or not.

I'll give Sasha Calle this, she's pretty good in The Rip. She's had a rough go of it since her 'big break' in the doomed Flash movie, which served no one well. She's really transformed since Y&R.

Jacob going undercover doesn't bother me. You have soap cops who have done that bit many times over the decades despite multiple public splashouts. Unless they're Luke Spencer, former Mayor of Port Charles who saved the world, it's not that serious IMO. I find Hayley and Randy constantly meeting in public places to discuss their murder plans far more silly.

I don't think WR is untalented. But his worst performing instincts and choices were consistently at play in this role, and the character also deeply sucked. In a better time, playing a cocky doctor, he could easily still be there today and be a success.

None of that is relevant to the fact that here and now Britt is unbearable to watch, and doesn't have a fraction of the past relationship with Jason (or Carly) that she keeps acting like she does.

I think Frank is far more likely to drop her when something better (or another daytime star, or both) comes along for Jason. After a mostly dreadful first year back, Jason's role on the show has been somewhat invigorated since Sam's death by his new involvement with the Quartermaines. Sonny and Carly are frankly less and less a part of his life. If they find better adventure stories for him than the current Britt/cold fusion mess (and a better occupation for him) he could continue to recoup. There are better romantic options for him to bring in, be it someone old like Keesha Ward or entirely new characters. (I have no interest in revisiting him and Elizabeth at this point) I've said this before but Joss is increasingly circling the C-tier of characters again after another attempt at a hard push last year. Just as in 2023-24, it faltered and she vanished for a long while. That doesn't feel like coincidence. Maxie's return can't save Nathan because Nathan has never been a viable character with any personality beyond 'we finally cast the hunk we wanted for Kirsten Storms after 10 years of trying'. I don't think RP will be here forever anyway, but I have never been remotely interested in them as a couple. Nor am I some Spixie loyalist but they really recovered well in 2024, and it's shameful to see Spinelli almost totally forgotten by the show at present. He raised her children, with and without her over the years - not unlike Mac. I'd much rather see them recommitted to each other with a proper wedding, for awhile (and later you can break them up and put Maxie with any number of people).

She really does. I'd be here for it. But that would just radicalize people further who will root for literally anyone who doesn't like Carly. I have been at my fill with the current state of Carly for years but even I need a better class of hater.
