Yes, at the very least they should post the episodes online and post them unedited. I can understand why they edit for broadcast but the unedited versions could be a streaming selling point ("watch online for unaired scenes!")

Then again, I am REALLY surprised they haven't just posted their whole archive on CBS AA.

This is true. Maybe if they get good ratings on these classic ones it may push them to do it.

  2. I LOVE that they kept in all the old music cues and the original music for the opening theme!! That made me soooo happy!

She just captivated everyone and creeped them out. When I watched her in the original run, she scared the hell out of me, especially when she wearing the veil. I was 13 years old at the time this aired... it was even during the school year, so I might not have seen this particular one. Although I stayed home from school at least 1 day every week.

From her lips to God's ears. It would be a dream come true to have 4 months worth of classic episodes airing. They'll be STRUGGLING for a theme each week, but we can certainly get some good stuff, even if they keep to characters still on the canvas. Paul and Nikki and Sumiko would be a candidate, Traci dumping the banana split over Lauren's head, etc.

YES!!! I would LOVE to see a best of Nikki week with her killing her father, her in the cult, her being rescued from Edward, and her being reduced from Rick Daros! I’d also love to see a week of Lauren with her first episode, the episode where Traci dumps the sundae on her head, she and Paul’s wedding, the episode where she’s rescued after being buried alive, and also the fire at the Farmhouse! I wish they’d do polls and let us choose...like they would pick 10-15 potential episodes for a themed week and then the top 5 episodes with the most votes are the ones that get picked for that specific themed week.

Or why Sony won't release at least some "best of" sets. They are literally giving us box sets with these themed weeks, and I would hope they're looking at the ratings in consideration of fan interest in seeing older episodes in clean, pristine condition.

Here are five episodes for a Katherine Chancellor set. How ridiculously easy would it be to pull together 15-20 more to make a full set? This show is about to hit its 50th anniversary in a few years, and fans have no access to any official home video of it. Ridiculous.

OMG could you imagine?? A 20-episode boxed set of the "Best of Katherine"? Our luck they wouldn't put any episodes from the 70's or early 80's with her when she was drinking and when she and Jill were at her finest fighting over Phillip and/or Derek, they'd do like they're doing this week and choosing episodes from 2005...2005?! are you kidding me?! or 1990? that's the best you can do? LOL try 1975-84 and then talk to me.....

If the oldest show from a week of Katherine-centered episodes is from 1990, it's highly unlikely they'll go as far back as the 70s at any point, I guess. Shame, because everything I've seen concerning her and Phillip's divorce is great and would still be connected enough to the show's modern era. I imagine they could edit two half-hour episodes together and present them as an hour show.

Not surprised B&B's focus is on recent stuff. At the end of the day, they view their task as merely filling time, not honoring show history. They'll do it the easiest way they can, which means rolling out recent stuff.

I agree ! They could have perfectly shown JC's first episode, maybe Phillip's death, why not some episodes with Derek?

I love the classics from the 90s' but we remember them quite well. It was a unique opportunity to offer longtime fans some gift.

If I've said it once, I've said it A THOUSAND times...they need to start showing stuff from the first 10 years where Jeanne is concerned....except for the weird 1981-early 1983 period where she was all about Nikki, Kevin, and Victor. They need to start showing some episodes that feature the best Jill & Kay scenes/confrontations, ESPECIALLY from '1975-1979 and also 1983. SUCH a treasure trove of great scenes between the two (and I don't care that it's not the same Jill, to me Brenda Dickson will ALWAYS be the TRUE Jill..especially during her '73-'80 run). They need to show the first episodes of Melody Thomas Scott, Eric Braeden, and Tracey Bregman. But back to Jeanne, yes @FrenchFan, they need to show Phillip's death and definitely episodes surrounding the Jill/Derek/Kay/Suzanne saga. Jill & Kay fighting for Phillip and Derek were some of their greatest scenes together!!!🙄

Yes you got it all that 1979 stuff made a great year in history for this show, i would love to see the episode where all the Brooks sisters confronted jill about Stuart and even some of jill/Stuart/Liz storyline they always show clips of jill and john but no jill Stuart stuff. And also i would love to see the new world storyline involving nikki Paul Peggy and if i believe Paul's brother and Carl got involved

You're so right! I'd love to see the episode(s) from 1979 where Kay reveals herself to Jill and Derek in her bedroom after their wedding and the scenes where she and Jill have the confrontation right afterwards. And I'd also love to see the episodes where Jill falls down the Brooks' staircase, and when she gives Stu the tracheotomy. Also, the episodes where Nikki kills her father, where Kay stabs Suzanne, where Suzanne lets the tarantula loose on Kay, and all the times where Kay haunts Suzanne. And the new world storyline would be kinda cool to see! I wanna see the episodes where Liz gets shot while visiting Greg at his apartment and then Greg blames Nikki. I don't think her getting shot had anything to do with the cult, but it was during that storyline.

Yeah. All I've seen is scenes of Kay and Jill discussing their past with Phillip but never the actual scenes where Jill seduced Phillip, or Jill was Kay's maid and met Phillip, Kay running Phillip over the cliff etc...

I haven’t seen any episodes featuring those kinds of scenes. I wish they’d surface!

Lol ok we have something in common, i would love to see the Lorie and Vanessa interactions and they did a few years of good scenes together in those years, i also want to sée how the first nikki was when she arrived and her and paul meeting and Katherine and Suzanne scenes including jill lol there is just so much

YES! All of that yes!! Not so much Lorie and Vanessa for me, but the rest absolutely! I’d like to see Erica Hope’s chemistry with the other actors and see if she was nearly as good as MTS. As for Katherine, Suzanne, and Jill, you’re right..there is sooo much to be seen just in ‘79 ALONE where those 3 are concerned...whether they were fighting over Derek or plotting each other’s destruction. I also want to see Lauren’s early scenes from ‘83. There’s a treasure trove of scenes and and I’ll believe until we see some stuff resurface that there are people out there that taped the show from that year and from ‘83 and either totally forgot about the tapes they had/have, or just simply refuse to share for some God forsaken reason.

Have we ever seen any episode with Katherine, Phillip and Jill? I don't think so. All I've ever seen is Kay and Jill talking about it. I don't think any older episode has surfaced on YT.

Do you mean an episode with scenes of all 3 of them in the same place at the same time? Because if so, then not to my knowledge.

Its interesting seeing episodes that u never saw before, I cant lie im still hung up on seeing the early 80's debacle, I i wish some random clips from that time surfaced or some 70's

I feel the same way and have for a while now. Mainly ‘79 and ‘83 for me.

Whoever has VHS/Beta tapes of either episodes or edits from ‘79 and ‘83 needs to come forward like yesterday lol.

True, I felt like Brenda really always carried the history of Jill with her in almost every scene.

I would even be happy if they just put up all the 30min episodes from 73 - 80. Though would love 73 - 94, my absolute favourite period, even with the less than stellar 80 - 82 era

Oh yes, I would also LOVE for them to put up all episodes from '73-'80 as well! I only want to see 1980 because of Brenda's first departure being on January 9th of that year, and I also want to see more episodes with Bond Gideon playing Jill. And 1983 is one of the best years of the show in my opinion so that's why I said the first 10 years. I agree with you, though, about '80-'82 being a boring period of time. Even if they just uploaded a category called "The Best of 'Classic' Kay and Jill", where they upload every scene those two had together from the first 10 years would be satisfactory for me. Personally, I'm tired of seeing episodes and edits pop up considering the Brooks family. I want more of The Chancellors/Fosters from the first 7 years.

    Wait wut

I phrased it wrong🤣🤣🤣🤣. I was trying to explain that I love watching episodes from the first 11/12 years of the show by buying DVDs from Soap Trading or purchasing sites and that I'll pretty much only watch episodes from those years. When I see stuff from 1986-the present, it doesn't satisfy my Y&R needs like those first years did. I did phrase that weird though LOL.

I disagree. This would not click with the broad audience at all. IMO, the earliest they could is the mid 1980s with the likes of Lauren, the Abbotts, Victor & Nikki and Cricket. Everything else is GONE.

Well I’d think they’d maybe show a couple and then introduce them as ones for the “die hard fans” or the “long-running fans”. They probably won’t, but it would be nice. Even if they showed stuff from 1983. After 1984/85, the show really wasn’t worth watching for me. And I’m only 23, so I only can see the old episodes by what people find and post, buying DVDs, or what used to be on YouTube YEARS ago that I was too stupid at the same not to save LOL. They’ve gotta add some variety, you know? I can understand how some people might be confused, but it would be sooo fun to see the good ol’ days of the Kay/Jill rivalry when it began and the first few years of it.

I agree with you. It's a real insult to the intelligence of the audience if they think people won't understand that the show had some different actors 30 years ago. And I highly doubt most of the viewers have only started watching in the last 10 years.

Right!! And if some viewers are confused, they could easily look up the character(s) mentioned in said episode on Google. There are lots of ways to be able to understand what was going on during those days in these advanced times in technology.

Brenda Epperson and Heather Tom should be in the 1991 episode, so they're not totally opposed to showing other actors in familiar roles, but my guess is that they won't choose episodes where the focus is on actors that are no longer there. I really hope I'm wrong but I'm thinking the only reason they picked Paul and Christine's honeymoon is because Michelle Stafford is back. I have a feeling if they want to show a classic episode with Dina they'll try to find one with both Peter Bergman and Eileen Davidson, which will eliminate almost all the good stuff from the 80s and 90s.

That’s a shame if that’s they way they’re really planning on deciding which ones to show. I mean Katherine was a HUGE part of the show and I can’t think of any good reason why they wouldn’t want to include her, or any other former big character from the first 10 years. I mean, they showed V&N’s 1984 wedding and Kay and Derek were there. Along with others that aren’t there anymore.

  14. They’d be fools NOT to show episodes from the first 10 years of the show. THOSE years are what I think of when referring to “Classic Y&R”. They could easily show the good ol’ days of BD’s ‘73-‘80 run as Jill and show her and JC’s best episodes together in those 7 years (there’s an episode from April 12, 1978 where Jill attacks Kay with a letter opener but misses her). Two episodes would make a whole hour’s worth of a timeslot. They could also show some good stuff from ‘83 of Lauren and Tracy’s rivalry, Dina being revealed as Madame Mergeron, Jack getting shot by Patty, Jill and Jack in the cabin, the episode(s) where Kay makes Jill faint and the aftermath where she finds out she’s pregnant. I honestly would be truly shocked if they showed any episodes from the first 10 years, which is a shame since so many other soaps have done that.

And as for Terry Lester, he was/is a better Jack than PB will EVER be.

  15. Does anyone have the following episodes/scenes:

    -May 26-June 2, 1989 (surrounding Phillip III's car accident/death)

    -November 28-December 6, 1994 (surrounding Rex's death)

-May 19-20, 2003 (Katherine finds out Jill is her daughter)

-June 13-27, 2003 (Jill finds out Katherine is her mother/Billy and Mac find out they're cousins)

  16. i hope the follow-up episodes from the February 14 & 15, 1984 episodes that we have surface someday. If I'm correct, either in the following episode or the episode afterwards, Rick tells Nikki that Victor is the true father of Victoria and he ties her hands together. why is it all the good and suspenseful episodes never have the follow ups🤣
