Coronation Street: Discussion Thread
Carl, thanks for posting the interview. In it LeVell notes that Kevin would be sympathetic towards Jenny but he most certainly wasn't when she was being carted away-the compassion he showed moments before seemed to be a trick to keep her from hurting Jack. Oh, well. He hasn't addressed the continuity gaffe himself, has he? It seems only a spokesman for the show has.

Coronation Street: Discussion Thread
I don't think Kevin should have been so cold to Jenny when she was finally apprehended. He should have felt sympathy for her and had a look of sadness on his face rather than a look of "Oh, good, the cops got you, so f**k off to jail." I would have had Sophie angry, though, and had her throw in something like "I blame YOU for Maddie's death, Jenny. If she hadn't run to see me to tell me she knew the truth about you then she wouldn't have been at the wrong place at the wrong time."

I agree about the actress who plays Shabnam, Carl. Her facial and vocal tics drive me nuts a lot of the time but when she's still she's very effective. That moment when she looked up at Jade was a good example. I like Buster but don't think he's good with Shirley. I've decided I'd like Carol's exit to be her going off with him on that motorbike.

I guess that could be true, Carl, but it's still very odd.

It looks like Danny Boy Hatchard (Lee) is getting a storyline he can sink his teeth into: http://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/eastenders-tackles-most-controversial-storyline-5960730

Caught up on the Jenny-kidnapping-Jack episodes. It was bad enough that the writers forgot about Kevin's deceased son in the bit where he was talking about Maddie, he also didn't bring him up in a key moment when Rita mentioned how awful it must be to lose a child (re Jenny). A few episodes later, though, Sarah claimed that Kevin had kept on picking "nutters." This could be seen as a reference to Alison, the mother of his deceased child. I don't get it. Why didn't Michael LeVell speak up about it on set? Had he forgotten about him, too?

I interviewed Danniella up at Elstree on the same day she'd been fired from EE back in 1996. She was charming and funny and looked like a battered rag doll. I remember her launching into an amusing rant over Gwyneth Paltrow, asking why the f*ck she had become a movie star. She asked if I'd been given a tour of the set. At that point I hadn't yet. She said "Well, I'm fired so I could give a toss and I'm going to give you a tour." And she did, a very quick one before the huge set lights were turned off for the night. And it was a pretty magical experience.

DTC tweeted this cute pic of Barbara Windsor and Jonny Labey (Paul Coker) at a function for gay magazine Attitude. https://twitter.com/dominictc/status/614585559684677634 So now Shabnam and Stacey are BOTH pregnant? Shabs is FIVE months pregnant (by Kush) and Stacey is carrying Martin's child (or is iKush's?). Ai yi yi.

I wish Netflix would buy all the episodes.

There had to be behind the scenes stuff to do with the actor who plays Tony because Liz confronted him re: Tracy in a one-way phone conversation!

The show is apparently in its tenth day of shooting its "biggest storyline ever,"'according to one of the directors' tweets.

I thought Linda looked lovely, though. Very well rested. On tonight's episode Buster told Mas about Jade's CF and they wondered if they should tell Shabnam. I ask this again-wouldn't she have known about Jade's condition eiither from when she was born or by Fatima? Nancy rocked in that final scene with Stacey. Stacey doesn't have chemistry with either Kush or Martin, in my opinion. I say bring back Danny Tennant (one of our favorite bisexual characters) for her.

Anna has been written as quite a shrew the past few months a la the horrendous Rosie Miller on EE a decade ago.

Thanks so much, DaytimeFan. I thought that was hilarious. Jack Shepherd's hugely important for the show's future. It's comforting to know that it doesn't look like he has any ambitions beyond his job on Coronation Street.

That's a great clip, Carl, thanks. That episode's not up on hulu yet. I'm glad to see that Michael didn't stay angry with Gail. I loved it when David imitated Audrey a month or so ago.

I'm tending to believe speculation on other boards that Ben actually knows about Kathy being alive. This would explain his trying to get to Miami with Jay in the flashback to Good Friday 2014.

I think you're probably right, Carl. She'd better get Julia's Theme this time. I don't think she got it the other two exits, did she?

On further thought I think I'd actually like to see Alan come back to Walford and escort Carol out of there. Perhaps Blossom has died, Carol starts out consoling Alan but finds that she still loves him. I'd like David to come back for another extended period of time, hopefully if Janine ever comes back. They're two of my all-time favorite characters.

I agree, BetterForgotten. I'm very grateful she came back if onlly so we could see Carol and Bianca put the Dan Sullivan mess behind them.
