Both stories sucked, so I understand.

Sonny and Jax shared three women, which is pretty nasty. I'm still actually surprised that they never did a "whose the daddy" plot with Sonny/Brenda/Jax...and that Brenda never had a baby at all.

I probably have an unpopular opinion but I sometimes rooted for Rachel because of her upbringing.  Yes she was a bitch in the early days but the women on this show were so “uppity” like Alice Lenore Pat Liz.  They treated her like trash even after she reformed and was with Mac

I don't doubt that, either, and I bet that Agnes Nixon's writing was very multidimensional. She created Rachel, so she wouldn't have been just the bad girl.

After all these years, Nancy vs. Tonya in the ice skating world is still a benchmark of "good girl" vs. "bad girl". Tonya has many fans precisely because she's a scrapper and had to claw her way up from the wrong side of the tracks. In some ways, not unlike Alice and Rachel - just that the blond was the "bad girl"!

Lol!  They could and very few would care.  But I would hope they would retconning it to be Jax's in the end.   Not Sonny's.

    Sam w/Sonny and Courtney w/Nik

Oh, you're right. I guess I scrubbed them out of my memory - thankfully!! I guess I'm still surprised that he just has one kid in 25 years! 😂

I meant to add for that 1980 video after seeing that 1972 picture of Ellen Holly that I think she read as much younger with the longer hair than the shorter style she carried in the mid-80s.

Here are a couple of pictures of her with Al Freeman:20211010_142209.jpg

I think the kid has plenty of possibilities. I think you could toy with it actually being Jax's. I don't get why Vanessa tries to pretend it doesn't exist. They're not retconning her son off the show, lol.

I've always found it funny that in 25 years on the show, this vaunted, virile, muscled Australian "hunk" has only had one (known) kid. I don't think Jax was ever even in a true "who's the daddy" plot.

When Alice went after Rachel physically, she was totally out of control, and might have literally broken Rachel's neck, which...I was kind of hoping to see, LOL.

I'm sure a lot of people were. 😂

I thought DZ and VM had chemistry. I understood playing with the story. But VM was right to put her foot down.

Yes, she was. Also, that pairing would have squicked too many people out. Not as much as Sonny/Emily, but close.

Believe me, as a viewer who had waited YEARS for Rachel to get her a$$ kicked, watching Alice finally lunge at her and throw copper pots at her as Rachel fled from the house was enormously, deliciously satisfying.

I bet it was! I found it satisfying just from that one episode. 😂

Well, if what we saw in that episode wasn’t in the script, all I can say is that JC was one hell of an improv actress.

That was incredible work. I totally believe that Alice had a long fuse and Rachel finally reached the end of it.

oddly I hated it when I was growing up in it(didn't have the best child hood) but now I long for it constantly lol

Maybe we should settle for marathons of Indiana Jones and Back to the Future. 😁

The whole Emily thing was embarrassing for Sonny, so just add that to the list.  It was a scene that stuck out as odd because he had Max carry her.  One of the 4 or 5 scenes I remember from that "romance".

They should have just scrapped the scene entirely. It really was an embarrassment.

Bingo! I always try not to be so harsh on both Ron Raines and Marj Dusay because I do feel they gave it all they could but somewhere better writing really could’ve helped both of them out.

They both were/are engaging performers who would have flourished in the right roles.

Totally. That little “Sit, Ubu, sit! Good dog.” takes me right back to childhood. Some people in the replies also mentioned the opening to “M*A*S*H,” which came on at 10 p.m. weeknights in syndication when I was growing up.

I think Family Ties, ALF and The Hogan Family were the only shows I was allowed to stay up "late" for. I miss the 1980s!!!!
